Pestill possum repeller – It’s completely useless. Doesn’t even turn on now and is only 2 months old. Waste of money. Won’t be buying anything from Kogan again. Jill

No Go – Total frustration with the Pestill Possum Repeller. Wanted to use the sonic only but can’t turn off the strobe which lights up the whole neighbourhood. Instructions are inadequate. Waste of money and time

Don't waste your money - it has no impact on possums – I set up two units to protect fruit trees from possums. I had them on the recommended correct settings for possums. They would go off when I was meters away, so I knew they were working. Yet each morning I'd find more damage to the trees. One night I witnessed what others on this page have described. A ringtail possum sitting barely centimetres away from the repeller with lights flashing and the high-frequency sound at maximum. It just sat there eating all the new growth on the mulberry tree without looking even mildly annoyed. I don't know about other pests, but it is false and misleading to call this a Possum Repeller. It just does not work as promised.

Kogan Pestill did not work – We have a very small front garden, with five closely-planted magnolia linea alba trees. We purchased four Pestill Possum Repellers, with 16 batteries and placed these on fences near the trees or in the trees themselves. We felt four might be an overkill for the size of our small garden but wanted to give it our best shot. The instructions did not clearly indicate how to get a sound/frequency that would be heard by possums but not/less by humans. We turned the dial to the right, to what we presume is the highest frequency in the range indicated for possums (not clear again in instructions as arrows go in both directions without indicating highest to lowest frequency). We placed it onto Night and Continuous Sweep. The highpitched screeching noise didn't really bother us (we would accept noise if it deterred the possums), but had neighbours phoning to find out what was going on. The high pitched screech and the flashing lights have not deterred our possums at all. They sit about three feet from the beam from the Pestill boxes, munching on the magnolia buds. The batteries are expensive and only lasted a week. We remove the batteries each morning as the noise etc continues even when it is light (and switched to Night). It is hard to get the back off and remove the batteries. There is no easy access "on and off" switch. Each morning the ground is littered with magnolia flowers and possum poo. In summary, poorly designed, lousy instructions, and despite best efforts do not work. We are happy to sell our week-old Pestil x4 for half price! Complete waste of time. Product does not work – I purchased a Kogan Pestill Ultrasonic possum repeller 2 pack for $99.99 in January 2021 based on the over 500 positive reviews on Kogan's website. Product arrived early February. I installed both repellers according to instructions. They do not work as stated. Strobe light flashes and there is a faint high pitched sound coming from it. Two nights after installation I observed a possum climbing over one of the repellers. It wasn't the least bit worried by the repeller. I contacted Kogan today to ask why I can't leave a review on their website for the Possum Repeller. They responded with the email below.

This brand is exclusive to Kogan, there are similar products available for 3 times the price from other manufacturers. Bottom line is the reviews on the Kogan website can't be from verified Kogan customers which is misleading.
