La Real-Poor Customer Service

The 2 stars are for the products I received. If I were judging by products alone, I’d be giving 5 stars as so far, they seem really good and seem to be making a difference to my skin.

However, the loss of 3 stars is for the terrible customer service I have received from the company. They sent the wrong item and refuse to send me the product I ordered (even if I return the incorrect product!). I have been back and forth with them multiple times, wasting time as for some unfathomable reason, they won’t send me the item I ordered (even though it is clearly in stock on their website).

If considering buying their products, I strongly advise NOT doing so via their website lest they refuse to send you the actual product you ordered also. Show details

Great cleanser

Received a sample from chemist where house when I purchased another product of the same brand. Have been hooked on the cleanser since then. I have normal/oily skin & it leaves my face soft. It is good value too as you only need a pea size to remove all traces of make up Show details

Solid cleanser

Yes this is a decent cleanser. It comes in a big tube too so more economical and environmentally friendly.

Can't live without!

I started using this product after my first child and it has literally changed my skin.
It leaves my skin feeling so smooth, clear and moisturised without stripping it. I have tried so many products in my life time and this is by far my favourite. Show details

Changed my skin forever

I have suffered from acne my whole life, I stopped using birth control pill almost 12 months ago which helped with my hormonal acne but it flared up in April/May after stopping the pill - I used the pill for about 15 years but decided to give it a break and heal myself naturally. I read reviews about this product and gave it a try, I have been using it consistently with the effaclar anti imperfection moisturiser also and have noticed a significant difference. The photos speak for themselves. I am extremely happy with the results and will refer to anyone who has hormonal acne!  Show details

This product is AMAZING!

After years of trying different skin care options and routines I had almost given up.
After being recommended by a few people to try La Roche-Posay I will never look back.
I love the consistency and foaming agents of a gel and this cleanser was perfect. It left my skin feeling clean but not right or dry.
I followed up with the hydra B5 serum and a vitamin C for the day and the retinol for the night and the moisturised. My skin has never felt better.
It instantly reduces redness and kept my skin beautifully hydrated all day and night.
Will never use anything else... I am OBSESSED

Reliable and effective

After using these products - foam cleanser, retinol serum, all over body balm and a face moisturiser, I will never choose anything else.
These products are consistently good and reliable. They are good for sensitive skin and just do what they say they’re going to do.
I’m so glad I found them and I am looking forward to trying other products in the range.  Show details

Does what it’s advertised to do

I love this product from la Roche, it was actually an impulse purchase for me after I read a few really good review from people with similar skin to me and thought I’ll take the gamble And try it out for myself. It cleared up a lot of the pimples around my cheeks and left my skin looking more radiant. Definitely worth a try. Show details

I don't recommend this product

After a patch test near my jawline, a stingy red rash appeared around my mouth and nostrils within 5 hours. The following morning, the rash reduced and I noticed minor scabs around my nostrils. Unfortunately La Roche Posay Effaclar Mat moisturiser isn't suited for my oily and sensitive skin. Show details

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Foaming Gel 200ml 200ml

I am reviewing the above item.
I have been using it for 2 years now, the foaming gel has been great for me, it has cleared my acne, helps with my sensitive skin and really leaves my skin feeling clean.
Its the best foaming gel I have used ever.
I have tried other items in the range and all great. Show details

What's in the La Roche Posay Effaclar range?

There are 6 types of moisturisers & serums in the range, ranging from those targeting acne-prone skin (such as the Anti-Acne Moisturiser and the Salicylic Acid Serum for Acne-Prone Skin) to those treating excess sebum and blackheads (such as the Anti-Blackhead Moisturiser).

There are also 4 different cleansers to choose from - you can choose from 2 gel cleansers, a cleansing cream, and a micellar water, depending on the consistency your skin likes.

Common active ingredients in the range

While each product in the range has a unique ingredient list, there are some common active ingredients found across different treatments. These include:

  • Niacinamide (vitamin B3), which helps brighten skin, fight moisture loss, and give you a more even skin tone.
  • Salicylic acid, which helps get rid of excess sebum, clear out clogged pores, and reduce pimples and blackheads.
  • Glycolic acid, which exfoliates dead skin cells from the surface of your skin, leaving you with smoother, clearer skin.
  • Zinc PCA, which helps fight acne-causing bacteria, reducing the amount of breakouts you get.

What have reviewers had to say so far?

There were a few reviewers who said that the products didn’t help their acne, and actually caused more breakouts. However, the majority of people who used products in the La Roche Posay Effaclar range said that it helped clear up acne and small bumps on their face.

Reviewers also appreciated that the Effaclar range didn’t irritate their sensitive skin, and noted that the products they used were consistently effective and high-quality
