La Scala Eroica L/1 Lever
1 review
Highly recommended particularly for those who want to learn espresso making without the complication of electronics – I bought this machine for $2000.00 in 2016 and have used it almost every day since with no problems except those mentioned later. It is a plumbed in machine which makes for more convenient use but more difficult to install. Sorry I can't find the receipt but the compliance certificate was signed on 13/06 2011. It was new so I think it must have been old stock. It is a fully manual machine ie. minimum complication and not an "ic" or printed circuit in sight so it won't need an electronics engineer if it does need attention. I have learned to be an amateur barista on this machine (with help of course). It makes great coffee if I use decent beans, which is not always the case. The only caveats with this machine for me are 1/. It is impossible to get the steam wand coupling to seal and 2/. It has no shot pressure gauge, otherwise it is the perfect machine for me. I will fit a shot pressure gauge and see if i can find a swivel for the steam wand or even a different wand including the valve. Sorry the image is sideways and I couldn't rotate it or delete it and repost.
13/3/23 The on off switch is not up to the job as it failed recently and had to be replaced. I noticed the pictures that someone has posted with this post are not of an Eroica but of the similar Butterfly. ie. a tank and not plumbed in, and a different pump! My sideways shot is of the correct machine. Doig
