Just opened a box of LAN CHOO tea and it looks really fine grain and tastes terrible. I hope the next 5 boxes I have are not the same. I always make it the same way and have been using this brand of tea for over 50 years. It is now undrinkable. Use by date 03/27 Show details

Changed and not for the better – I have been a Lanchoo tea drinker for longer than I remember. But I am about to change. When I drink Lanchoo now, I have to leave some in the cup because of the very fine powdery tea in the bottom. It is not a pleasant taste. Once there was a small amount in the bottom of the tea caddy. Now it is through every spoon of tea leaves.

Taste NOT WHAT IT USED TO BE – It was our (bulk) tea of choice for more than 40 years.... and would confortably Give it 4½ ☆ out of 5 ☆... It has Always been consistently good BUT lately we would struggle to give it 2½☆... Perhaps like wine tea has good years and bad years............... Lan-Choo you've lost us if you continue to produce it to taste as it does now.... We… Read more

normally buy 4 to 6 packets at a once..... but we will now only buy it 1 packet at a time until it improves. Bring back the old LAN-CHOO (OR LOSE A LOYAL CUSTOMER)

Excellent Tea when you can get it – A really nice all round tea but you need to let it do its work. You can't just add water and drink immediately, you need to let it brew for a while. When brewed correctly it will reward you with a full flavored tea slightly on the sweet side. Show details

Where has all the Lan Choo gone? – 50 years of Lan Choo consumption, savouring its subtle balance of China tea flavours means it is sorely missed. Our local IGA had Lan Choo when Woolies didn't, but now it has completely disappeared. If Bushells has dumped it, there's an opportunity for someone to replicate the flavours, get rid of the dust and win us over! UPDATE 11/8/22 It's back at our local IGA. Still a very good loose-leaf brew with flavour! Show details

Tea coloured water – This tea is so weak it is most akin to tea coloured water. I usually drink my tea quite weak but this is too weak even for me. Better products on the market.

Very, very disappointed – We found that there is so much fine particle matter in this tea that we had to sieve it to avoid floaties in our cup. Will never buy Bushells again Show details

change in consistency in Lan - choo tea – We have been using Lan-choo loose leaf tea for 50 years (and our parents before that) but lately the tea leaves are just not the same . Lots of dust and very fine tea leaves . It's disappointing also not to be able to purchase Lan-choo at Coles anymore Show details

Lan-Choo - my choice of leaf tea, when I can get it – I have been enjoying Lan-Choo leaf tea for over 65 years. The flavour is divine and the strength of the tea is consistent. Recently it has disappeared from the shelves in Coles (along with many other Australian brands) and now even my local IGA do not stock it. I guess it has gone the way of Amgoorie, Robur etc and I will have to resort to Bushells who took over Lan-choo many years ago. Show details

Beautiful Tea – A beautiful tea to have without milk. It is not as robust as many black teas you could have with milk, like the old natures cupa. It is more of an office or afternoon tea party black tea. Show details

Workers strike over lan-poo tea – I was shocked when I read a website saying Australias favourite tea. Working on a mine site of over 300 people. Everyone was ready to strike until they changed back to a normal tea. It was quickly agreed and all the supply of lan-poo went in the bin

Huh? Lan Choo Tastes Bad? – I do not understand why people are complaning about Lan Choo. I love my teas and understand it is all personal taste and preference but have people dried other brewing methods? For me i use Lanchoo when i make milk tea for my husband as he does not like very astringent teas. I have an enamel camping kettle/teapot method : into the… Read more

kettle add 1 200ml cup plus 2 tbsp of water bring to the boil and add 1.5 tbsp of tea boil for 2 to 5 min swirling the kettle every few min so all leaves are in the water for an even brew.

After the 2 to 5 min are up at 1 200ml cup of milk (full cream is best)

Let it come to a boil and rise 1 to 2 times ( rising means let it rise to the top of the pot before over flowing) then strain and add sugar to taste.

This method is of making tea is indian in style (sometimes is called 'Royal Milk Tea') but it produces a nice cup of tea which is slightly remenisant of HK Milk Tea has good flavour and colour and low astringency.

For me lan choo is the best tea for this...i recommend not giving up on such a tasty tea.

Pathetic strings – Soon as you put the milk in your tea and dangle, the string comes away from the bag. Not buying them again.

Lan Choo tastes like poo – My workplace purchases Lan Choo on a regular basis(mainly because its the cheapest tea bags on the face of the earth) In my opinion this is the most foul tasting, vile tea i have EVER had. 1 ogf my colleagues commented it tastes like floor sweepings. If this company went bust it wouldnt be ahead of time.

LanChoo Leaf Tea best on the market – My parents always used Lanchoo Leaf Tea and I have continued to use it since my marriage 48 years ago. I hope they never get rid of the box tea as I have tried others and none of them are anywhere near as nice. We have always used Pot tea and will continue to use Lanchoo as long as it is available to buy.

Every time I serve tea to friends they comment favourably on the tea – This product is becoming very difficult to purchase and yet is a delicious and full flavoured tea. I've tried many brands but Bushells Lan - Choo is the one I most enjoy and also the one that always get favourable comments from guests .in all forms its flavour is excellent either in tea bags or tea leaves. The bags are useful and delicious, for making single cups.

LAN CHOO is great for high teas – Every time I do a high tea and use lovely tea cups and tea pots people rave about the tea. I am always asked what brand it is. (Everyone assumes it must be expensive.) I tell them it is LAN CHOO. It has such a lovely light feel to it. Loose leaf tea is so beautiful. Great price and reliable brand (Bushells)

OK – Lan-Choo tea is one of the most affordable teas on the market. Its flavour is distinctive in that it tastes noticeably weaker than other teas on the market. This may or may not be a bad thing depending on individual tastes, but it didn't really hit the spot for me. I found that even generic brands of tea would often taste better than Lan Choo. … Read more

While it may be worth looking at for the budget conscious, lovers of a strong, full flavoured cup of tea would probably be better served elsewhere. Cheap price. Good if you enjoy your tea with a mild taste Weak flavour.
