Very disappointed with the service that I had from Landmark Inspections. I was concerned that the scope of their inspections were not lining up with the progress stages of my builder for the Frame Stage. Therefore, I asked Landmark Inspections to give my builder a call to ensure the site was ready for them to perform their Frame Inspection. I… Read more
specifically stated that I didn’t want to get a report back with a lot of incomplete items as the work had not been completed yet. Landmark Inspections contacted the construction supervisor and stated that they were good to go. I then received the report back, which had 23 total inspections, with 13 of them marked as incomplete (i.e., they couldn’t check more than half the job). When I called them up to query this, they were not very helpful and were not willing to offer any compensation. The frustrating part of this was that I specifically called them before they went out to make sure it didn’t happen and they still went ahead with the job site not ready for a full inspection. If you are going to engage Landmark Inspections, I would advise making sure that the job site is at the correct stage, or they will happily turn up and only do half the job.
I used Landmark's services in Brisbane to do a Practical Completion Inspection for a new build. The house looked okay to me, so I did wonder if it was worth it. It was. The inspection revealed quite a list of imperfections and defects I didn't pick up. For example - ducted air conditioning intake screen poorly fitted leaving a gap and damaged… Read more
paint on the ceiling. A section of dented and scratched roof sheeting needing replacement. The air conditioning installers had not put the insulation batts in the ceiling back in place. Loose taps. Paint defects. To name just a few. No structural problems thank goodness. The inspector was on time, friendly, thorough, and explained everything he found. You then also receive a detailed report with photos that you can give to the builder. Definitely worth using Landmark for this inspection.

Zero from Renter Consumers We have issues with Landmark Inspections Melbourne’s behaviour, and the Rental Safety Compliance Inspection Reports they’ve provided, for Electrical, Gas and Smoke Alarms safety they carried out last year. Landmark originally attended on April 22nd 2024 to carry out all rental Safety Reports. Said they’d have to come… Read more
back to complete some items. Returned June 25th 2024. Just the Highlights: Ignored/missed inspecting 1 of the 2 smoke Alarms for the Smoke Alarm Report. Information was given (including last time alarms were tested/replaced 2014-2015) to technician on the day (April 22 2024), according to Landmark (March 28th 2025) they’re aware of there being 2 smoke alarms in the property. Renters reported Smoke Alarm issue as maintenance request to Property managing Agents 1st November 2024. Landmark installed thermostat June 25th 2024 was not securely installed on wall. No mention of issues/defect or concern regarding this in the Gas Safety Compliance Report. Renters reported Maintenance request to Agency (July 9th 2024) when the thermostat had come loose due to poor install. According to Landmark response via the Agency, they were aware of the issue at time of installation. Reported this outstanding maintenance item to Agents on November 1st 2024. The Electrical Safety Compliance Inspection Report carried out, includes a non-compliant cracked and loose GPO as compliant, no mention of defect, damage or it not being secure. And is inconsistent, with a cracked laundry (power point) reported as Damaged GPO and required replacement, was replaced at the time (April 22nd 2024), and reported as now Compliant. This has been requested as maintenance request with Agents 1st November 2024. Landmark information Brochure has an example of cracked Power Point GPO as non-compliant. Call from Landmark (March 28th 2024) they claim not to be aware of there being issues with the Reports and the Works Landmark carried out last year. Landmark demanded/insisted we confirm a booking for them to carry out a 2nd Electrical or Gas Safety Check (done every 2 years), plus the yearly Smoke Alarm Compliance Report together. This inconsistent/contradictory to information given via email last year they sent in red text for emphasis, and industry/regulatory standards. Renter advised Landmark they’d need to liaise with the Agency for information and Full list (not just the highlights) of required Landmark rectifications works, correct notification to renters for smoke alarms and rectifications works only. Renter clearly stated that we would allow access for the necessary works including Smoke Alarm Checks. Emails April 1st 2025 from Agency claiming Landmark has been unable to confirm time for Smoke Alarm checks (no mention of Gas or Electrical Safety Checks), and that renters refused access. We were still waiting for Landmark to call back regarding booking confirmation, and No-One showed up at the property in order for renters to have refused access either. The claims are false and misleading, and gaslighting (blaming renters for Landmark not calling back), and Agency property instructions to renters: to confirm booking for Smoke Alarm checks. Landmark called back April 2nd 2025 informed renters they require booking confirmation for Gas and Smoke Alarm safety Checks, contrary to information and instructions renters have been given (no mention of Gas or Electrical Checks). Tried accepting Smoke Alarm Checks booking but was denied by Landmark. Received Notice of Entry via Agency for Landmark to enter to carry out “mandatory electrical and Smoke Alarm Compliance Checks” this Thursday April 24th 2025. The only mandatory Compliance check due is the Smoke Alarm Checks, and the necessary completion of outstanding rectifications works. A newly assigned Agency property managing agent (as of yesterday Tuesday 22nd April 2025) will attend but not enter property in order to allow access for Landmark. Renters have yet to be provided with information/proof of Landmarks claims regarding bookings and refusing access, reason for entry for a non-mandatory for another 12 months electrical safety compliance check, and note that there has been no mention of the outstanding rectifications works relating to Landmark. We are concerned for the impact the whole experience stress and anxiety is having on the Renters, as well as our concerns for Landmark and Agency Reps who may be attending tomorrow without knowing how their entry has been obtained. And how the Renters have been treated by Landmark Inspections. The additional unnecessary time involved for Renters so far, as well as for time Reps will be attending the property, instead of doing necessary rectification works and the yearly Smoke Alarm Checks. Landmark Inspections: Unprofessional, incompetent, lacking knowledge and experience, and are inconsistent/contradictory with works, information, and reports.
disrespectful – They did a job, but left dirty shoes prints everywhere! It was raining but that should not be a excuse. Very disappointed.
Highly recommended – Landmark is exceptional! My handover just finished in Donnybrook and I have Landmark for all of my inspection. They are accomodating, and get things done in terms of communicating with my SS for the inspection booking. Their reports are very thorough and the price is reasonable. I am very happy that I choose landmark for my build journey. Thank you very much to all staff who assisted me. Show reply
Very Expensive and They make number of visits for grab money – I wouldn't recommend their service. And Don't fall into their package deals, they just Trap. Extend platform 0.5m chip board on roof to access ducted heating $260 and Flue bracket $75. I paid total $1040 for 6yr old inspection. Funny thing they complained about manhole size is smaller (existing 450x450). Show details

The reports are received after 2 hours of inspection conducted. The reports are well worth the money. Overall very happy with the service.
Thank you Landmark inspection team.
Great service – Overall great service from all staff (administration to inspector) report turnaround was very fast and very detailed and the inspector was happy to follow up via email/phone with any questions.
Fantastic Service! – We engaged Landmark to conduct an independent inspection of our new home build. Firstly, it is extremely refreshing to deal with an organisation with such fantastic customer service. Every email I sent was responded to promptly and with all relevant information. I sent an email requesting a quote one evening and received the quote first thing… Read more
the next morning. Once the quote was accepted Landmark proceeded to make all necessary arrangements with the builder and we received email updates accordingly.
The building inspection was thorough and outlined a number of areas for rectification. We received the report, complete with photos and recommendations on the same day as the inspection. The report was well worth the money.
I am very satisfied with the service provided by Landmark and highly recommend their services.
Prefection – We were new to the overall concept of building a house so we hired an inspector. This turned out to be a good idea due to the fact that they were professional and provided us with lots of helpful advice. Overall, I highly recommend it!
Best of the Best – 100% worth for money!!! Being a first time home builder, we were too trusting during the build with Carlisle Homes of our relatively simple single storey home, but there were so may defects and issues. Landmark provided the report on the same day, with clear documentation (including the relevant rules/policies) regarding the many many issues that… Read more
came up along the way. I was dealing with Brendan Frost and his team, who were incredibly helpful, patient and willing to answer any question. I'm very happy that i found them. Compared to New Homes Inspections and Jim's Inspections I will highly recommend Landmark Inspections to anyone!
Great service and experience – The inspector we had Paul was so knowledgeable and helpful at our inspection and Natalie in the office was quick to reply to emails and book in the entire inspection without even a phone call. Overall extremely happy to recommend.
