Laurastar Magic S6a

Bought the S6a in 2016 for $3k. It worked well for the time we had it. Today however it died, 9 years later. This was our second Laurastar, the first one lasted over 14 years. Steam central!! – I bought this iron system after my 21 year old sunbeam iron finally called it a day. This iron produces a good amount of steam which cuts ironing time in half. There’s definitely no going over something constantly, one go over and both sides of clothes are ironed perfectly. It does take a little getting used to but it’s well worth it. Great product keeps clothes looking crisp all day – Very happy with Laurastar love how clothes are still crisp at the end of the day. Find it a bit heavy so will leave it up in a spare room . Great with silks, some silk items I own hadn’t looked good once they had been washed, now they come up like new again. Makes short work of king size 100%cotton sheets. Ironing is no longer a chore – Love this appliance. Used to detest ironing. It's no longer something that I put off until I need a marathon ironing session just to get in front of the next load of ironing. Clothes look better after I iron them. We love our Laurastar Magic S6a – It works really well with all fabrics and is a dream to use. cardigans beautifully. It is heavy, but we are still able to fold it up and move it due to the wheels and ergonomics fairly easily. We will never go back.

Will not ever use anything else – this is the 2 Laurastar I have purchased and my first lasted over 16 years. Will not ever use another ironing system, you get what you pay for and this is the best. Wouldn't use anything else – This is my second Laura star iron, my first one lasted 21 years. It saves me heaps of time, everything comes out crisp and beautifully ironed. I especially love the steam function on the handle, I had to press a button on the old one. My sister in law is about to buy her second one after 24 years use out of her old one. Good Buy – I iron my work shirts myself. Occasionally my wife asks me to iron her pant and blouses. The appliance performs well. I flush the tank with warm water on a monthly basis. My only criticism if you loose the little tool they provide to clean the holes in the sole plate you cannot have it replaced  Show details ·  1

Quick. Easy. Perfect finish – I leave my system set up and ready to use, so finishing my laundry, changing outfits and caring for high end silk products is effortless and without any anxiety that my clothing is going to be damaged. Gentle On Clothes – Ironing with steam and gentle heat is different to ironing with higher-heat and steam irons. I iron my sons chefs' aprons and the Laurastar takes longer to get the same finish as I had with my previous steam iron. Love the iron but Laurastar service is dreadful! – Iron takes a while to heat up Temperature is ok Steam is great feature - when it works - have had issues with the sole plate getting blocked. It’s a premium quality product.

I’m not sure if it is the way I wash the shirts? Maybe this iron requires shirts not to be spun dry or to be ironed damp?

I also disappointed with advice received by LauraStar Sydney who advised I could wash and steam my husband’s suits. Not actually the case and they were ruined and we had to replace them.

I also find the emails inviting me to trade in my current LauraStar annoying. I just made an investment in an iron I understood I can have for 10+ years.

Very temperamental – I find the steam is either very strong and the iron has overloaded and i have to switch unit off and start again. Water pours out frantically, saturating my garment. The demo far surpass the functionality of my laurastar. I have not had a great experience. My clothes never seem to be crisp as it would from dry cleaners or seen on You Tube video  Show details

Waste of money - bad iron and company keeps repairing DONT BUY IT – Bought this iron 6 months ago and twice the unit had died on me where after 10 minutes if ironing the whole system turns off. Tonight the steam system stopped working completely. Love my Laurastar – I love my S6a, it works beautifully and makes ironing a breeze. So much quicker and better results than traditional irons. I had a warranty issue which was fixed at Brisbane office in about a day. How many other appliances repairs are done that quickly? Leaks – Leaks water from the iron plate and boiler unit. Took to Perth store only to be told there’s nothing wrong with it. Was cleaned by service rep. Tried to use it today and again leaking everywhere. So much for nothing wrong? Seems like I’ll be making another 3 hr drive again. Hoping for a positive outcome. 2nd dead Laurastar – second one has died. First one rusted and circuit board died. Second one has serious leaks from back and from iron itself. Great while it works but unreliable to have two dead ones inside ten years. Should improve their reliability and if not, extend warranty out to 5 years if they trust their own product. Sick to death of this leaking iron – Constantly leaks. It was repaired only a few weeks ago, and now leaking massive puddles on the floor. I can't believe $1000 for an iron and this is what I have to deal with?! I personally don't have the time to continually put it in for repair. Powerful good iron but expensive to buy and repair and fundamental issue with spraying brown stains – Powerful iron that reduces ironing time but it was very expensive to buy and expensive to repair. There is a fundamental issue with intermittent spraying of brown stains onto clothes and it is unpredictable as to when this happens. Time Saver – We bought this item at a city show after watching the demonstration.. We have had this now for the past 18 months and my partner has found this to be good and bad. because I have tried it today and was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to iron the sheets. I was not so good at the tee shirts because of the different material.

The unit is well constructed but a little heavy when folding it up and moving it.

Again this would improve with practice.

It is expensive but I would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone.

Always leaking – My wife has had to take this model to a repairman no less than 5 times in the last 3 years as it is always leaking both from the top where the water container meets the steam reservoir and from the bottom of the steam reservoir itself. to make good contact with the steam reservoir but it leaks from all the contact points which implies a backup in the reservoir. My wife always brings it back repaired with a nice bill, but we're nearing the original cost of the machine in repair cost which should not happen. Don't buy!

Ironing has never been easier – I purchased this iron last week. Laurastar had set up a stand at Box Hill Central. The iron was demonstrated to me and I also had a go myself. complete. I can now iron my kids' t-shirts (2 at a time) just with a few passes of the iron and I never thought I would be looking forward to ironing my husband's business shirts!!! Ok, I'm getting a bit carried away now! LOL. Seriously though, hubby is very happy with his fresh, clean and crisp shirts and I'm happy too.

I had seen Laurastar previously at another shopping centre and I hesitated because of the price but alas 2 months later after seeing it demonstrated at Box Hill I am one of the proudest owners of an S6. Very happy.
