The linear compressor failed after 5 years and a matter of days. LG warranty on website stipulates 10 year coverage for "parts" however they have not honoured this and are claiming the warranty is only some parts leaving me out of pocket. Follow up has repeatedly pushed back on this obligation despite the clear wording in their warranty. Show details
I will not buy LG again. 3yrs and the fridge died. No answer in 24 hours even though the warranty For compressor parts is 10 years. I have a family and could not wait. So disappointed in LG and Betta electrical as I was told the 10 years warranty would cover me and did not need extended warranty. Nonsense!!! Won’t buy again from either. Show details
Compressor failed after 3 years. LG tried to screw me in every way and trick us into paying for repairs even after I had recorded them admitted the exact same compressor and sealed system number was part of the 1.6 million known to have been defective as early as 2020. These were part of the class action lawsuit where LG was found guilty of… Read more
continuing to sell these units globally for years after being caught and proven total failures. Even after compressor replacement these continue to fail repeatedly as the sealed system design is faulty. Some customers have have been through 4 compressors as the entire sealed system is faulty and cannot be replaced. Lg Australia repeatedly breached their warranty terms and denied resolution under Australian consumer law. Despite being told many lies, promises that did not eventuate and being hung up on numerous times for over 2 months despite being super patient and polite, I finally got a resolution thanks to nsw fair trading and Harvey Norman under consumer law. As LG had denied consumer guarantees and prevented resolution for more than a reasonable time, which is fully documented and recorded, I was able to request a refund/credit with the store and pay the difference to move to a Mitsubishi fridge..I'll never buy a new LG product again

Almost perfect – Purchased online from Bing Lee Electrics. Good fridge and freezer. Fits perfectly in our older house fridge space. It's nice and wide and I love not having to stoop down to see what's what in the bottom of fridge section. The door cooling is super cold, great for chilling drinks quickly. The freezer drawers are easy to slided in and out, and just… Read more
deep enough not to lose track of what's in them, but not enough space for us, 2 adults. Hence, we have an underbench freezer also. It's extremely quiet, almost silent. Only con is that I wasn't prepared for the parts protruding from the top rear which can be seen from the side - see photo
Perfect, love it! – Freezer on bottom and fridge section on top Deep shelves Deep drawers in freezer Quite Glass shelves, easy to clean and wipe over Digital temperature indicator at top when door is open Bright light And alarms when either door is left open Smart inverter 4.5 star energy rating Rollers for ease of movement Very happy with our purchase

Best LG Fridge!!! I have 3 Already… – This LG 454L Bottom Mount GB-455BLE (black fridge) is the best. “I have multiple properties that I frequent.” This fridge has been absolutely amazing and exactly what I needed for everyday use. “Also, you can change the way you access the fridge too.” Meaning you can open the fridge from the left side or right”. Just by performing minor… Read more
adjustments. The fridge is door cooling which is quite efficient and cost saving as well. “I like that the fridge space is top mount so it is easy to access and there is no bending down to break my back and there is no need to load the fridge ten years.” To be honest, if you’re looking for a good, quality fridge!! Just go out and get it!! Use Afterpay, credit card or whatever you can. “Such a great deal too.”
Timely professional delivery – We needed a bigger fridge for our guest suite to replace a small drinks fridge with uneven temperature. Comparison shopping online found this to be the best price for our budget and desired model. We purchased from Appliances Online before and were very happy and this delivery was within days. The space and entry were a bit snug but the two… Read more · 1
deliverymen adapted well and put it in place without incident. The fridge is attractive and adds much needed capacity and reliable temperatures. Its location gives easy access and doors open and clear well. Recommended.

The door will drop eventually. (with repair update) – We bought this fridge during C19 lockdown as our old one died. It has been good for 3-4 years and I can not fault it. Its compact depth fitted into our new kitchen nicely. However.... just yesterday the top door dropped and started rubbing on the top of the lower freezer door. After looking at all the tips online on how to re-level it, I had to… Read more
remove the door completely and take a closer look. (none of the online tips were applicable to this fridge as it does not have door adjusting nuts. ) On closer inspection I found the problem. The top metal "hinge" pivot fits into a hole in the plastic door frame. Over time and with weighty objects (milk) kept in the door, the plastic in the door had worn down ~1mm, enough to cause the door to drop and rub. There is no metal on metal pivot so the plastic was going to give up sometime. Poorly designed IMO and destined to fail. I suspect the repair for most people is a new door... but fortunately Im pretty handy in the workshop , so I knocked up a brass sleeve to insert into the door and inserted the pivot... there is now metal on metal and the door no longer rubs. In an attempt to prevent this from recurring we will now keep heavy items out of the door or closer to the hinges to avoid strain and excessive wear.
**Update: Repairs** The brass sleeve only lasted a month or so and the door started rubbing again. Today I found a better more permanent solution. A washer, 16mm OD 8mm ID, with a tiny shim. I had intended turning something on the lathe and melting it into the hole but this fix took 30mins from door removal to turning the fridge back on. See pix below. No more rubbing doors and kicking the freezer door to make sure its closed.
Fridge door has dropped and LG customer care advises to level floor. Not possible as floor is a concrete slab that the house is built on. Issue is that the freezer door is then Impacted as both or either door are difficult to close or open.

Another honest review from me. Reading all the negative reviews on this product, I must have gotten lucky with our purchase. No issues so far since purchasing in 2022 (nearly 4 years old). Pros… This is a good size for a couple. Quiet, sometimes a… Read more
quiet hum which is normal. Good size freezer. Drawers come in handy. Runs more efficiently than our last small fridge half the size! Nice modern design, clean lines.
Cons… Being a 420L fridge, would recommend a larger fridge for a family.
From my experience with this product, I highly recommend and 5 stars.
Follow-up · Fridge is going well, no issues to date, cheap to run, seals are good
Positive reviews
Can't really fault it – After an initial issue with this fridge that was repaired promptly under warranty, this fridge has been faultless. It just does what it needs to do and I don't need to think about it or do anything. Probably the best appliances I've owned.
Looking Good with LG – After my 37 year old Kelvinator fridge passed wind then died. I bought an LG. Best decision after much research as this fridge really works as intended Show details
Quiet and small, value for money – Slim size, perfect to get into narrow unit doors. The different compartments make organising easy. It is extremely quiet to run and have had no problems with it so far.

I bought this fridge in March 2020, it was ok, not easy to clean, crisper and freezer draws hard to maneuver and don't always close properly, with parts of the plastic shelving cracking after two years, but his week, it stopped working altogether (not 6 years old). I rang LG customer care who gave me a local tech number. As no motor noises were… Read more
audible (from a previously noisy fridge) and the temp inside fridge and freezer (after 12 hours) was over 20oC the tech diagnosed a failed compressor (over the phone) and said as the cost of a call out fee ($160) plus parts (which they would have to order), plus labour meant it was 'beyond economic repair' and they couldn't come till the end of the week anyway. LG is meant to cover the cost of a new compressor for 10 years. I called LG again to update, and they insisted the tech had come to the house (and I pay the $160), and for me to submit the written report, after which they would decide if they could 'remedy'. I asked what remedy, they refused to say. I asked what a compressor was worth and they refused to say. With 35oC January days they seemed not to care I might be without a fridge for weeks. I continued to ask (firmly but not rudely) what they could offer by way of warranty, but the customer care rep got annoyed and reminded me the call was recorded. I said fine but a fridge shouldn't fail after 5+ years. The conversation went in circles and it became apparent he wasn't saying anything of value. I decided I couldn't wait weeks without a fridge and not knowing if LG would honour the warranty. Overall this fridge has a short, noisy life and the LG customer care is very poor. I would never buy an LG product again.
Bought this fridge 4 years ago on the reviews stating quiet fridge. This is not a quiet fridge, it has high pitch sounds that have never stopped, it is so noisey. LG sent out a local technician maybe a year ago who did not solve any of the noise problems. Now the new noise is like a low rumbling motor bike engine...I am getting rid of this disaster purchase and will never buy anything from the LG brand after this. Do not buy. Show details
Bought ours barely 4 years ago. Now it has intermittent issues with cooling for the top fridge section. I can see someone else is having the same issue. Warranty only covers for 2 years. You can get a bigger fridge for around the same price with a much longer warranty. Honestly, I never had a fridge with such a short lifespan. If you want food poisoning or wastage...get an LG. Cannot recommend. Show details

POOR AFTER SALES SUPPORT!! Bought June 2020, was going well until last week. Fridge/freezer not cooling anymore. fridge worth over $1000. Also LG fridges apparently a linear compressor issue + lawsuit. Avoid the headache.
Very poor product and No customer service. The hinges dropped and doors began hitting within 12 months. Cannot get any service. Purchased based on the low consumption of electricity but would point out the cost to buy a new refrigerator on the environment every few years would be much higher. Very disappointed and will not purchase LG again. This is further to a LG monitor that also sotopped working within 18 months. Show details
Unreliable - compressor failed twice in 5 years – I purchased this fridge in 2019 and the compressor has died twice in 5 years. Not only is the fridge unreliable, but this time it’s taken 4 weeks, during summer, to get an offer to repair from LG. The customer service has been slow and I have had to constantly follow up, even with the service technicians who mentioned they hear it a lot from their… Read more
LG customers. My experience has changed my mind about investing in LG products for the reliability and service capabilities, because I would just never recommend this company or product to anyone.
Door manufacturing fault – The fridge is very quiet and keeps a consistent temperature. Has a peculiar cooling system where the inside perimeter of the door heats up. I bought a fridge and then the front fridge door gradually dropped until it hit the freezer door. Got a new fridge under warranty. I have had the new fridge for 8 months and now the same issue has occurred. Clearly this is a manufacturing fault. Purchased through Harvey Norman $1,414.00 Show details
Avoid this fridge – I have not had the door drop on me yet but thanks for the heads up. My problem is temperature regulation. My crisper freezes veggies at 3 degrees, but my food spoils if i increase to 5. No option to set at 4 degrees and no feedback loop in the fridge. The freezer makes food smell like freezer burn. I need to double bag everything in Hercules… Read more
freezer lock bags and use within a few weeks. I have baking soda in the ice tray to absorb the smell, and disinfect every few months- doesn’t help. Also defrosts and refreezes so meat, fish anything with liquid will expire very fast. A total waste of good food and money. Shame on you LG for selling such rubbish.
Disappointing product. Very noisy – I purchased in mid Oct 2023. The fridge was pretty quiet in the first 6 months. It started to have some noises every 20-30 minutes approx. even if I turned down to use “vacation” mode with higher temperatures for both the freezer and fridge. I measured the noise level in the front is around 42dB but the back of the fridge near the compressor is… Read more
60dB. I live in a very small apartment. It’s quite distracting when I work from home. I can hear this noise in my bedroom at night.

Terrible – We bought this fridge just less than 4 years ago. Over the last week we noticed the freezer was a little frosted but thought we may have left the door open. Used the smart app which noted the fridge was in working order. 2 days later the fridge and freezer have both stopped working, the freezer melted and our fridge is a balmy temperature (it… Read more
was quite a noisy fridge but is now silent).
The light and led display are still working which say the fridge is set at -1 degrees and freezer is at -20. Again, the smart diagnosis says the fridge is working perfectly. Bottom line - buy another brand.
LG GB-335PL – After my Westinghouse 440 litre refrigerator suddenly died (compressor current leak shorted out my house by tripping the residual current device at the circuit board), I had to do something quickly or lose a lot of food. The Westinghouse only lasted 13 years, but that seems to be 'good' these days. Not really good enough in my opinion. As a single… Read more
person now, I really didn't need such a large refrigerator, and the latest edition of Choice magazine had an article on refrigerators which listed the LG GB-335WL as a recommended buy in the 300-399 litre size range. I couldn't find one of these on line, and so I got the GB-335PL which surprisingly is only 306 litres according to websites that I accessed. A bit misleading there LG? It arrived with a lot of packaging, both internal and external. The stainless steel finish seems good. The compressor noise is low and I had to have a close listen to make sure that it was working when the power was switched on. Internal lighting via LED is good and the interior is neat. However there seem to be a few deficiencies that may be expected for the price. Three shelves in the fridge section, which is OK but it seems that there aren't any options for moving the shelves. There is only one crisper draw with no apparent 'climate control' (but I'm still reading the owner manual), no dairy compartment, no rapid chiller zone, three door shelves which cannot be adjusted to vary the height. It has what appears to be the usual LG way of temperature control for both refrigeration and freezing, with the options limited by a push button inside the unit, with only a few fixed temperatures available for each section. But it does have a rapid cooling option that you should use after initial installation. After several hours, I checked the internal temperature of the refrigerator, and despite the void being full with cold food, it was well above the 3 degree setting but just under the 'safe' 10 degrees via my min/max thermometer. I turned the temperature down to 1 degree over night and in the morning the thermometer (it is a mercury in glass type) was showing just under 5 degrees. This may indicate an inability of the unit to reach a desired temperature without using the lowest setting and thus using more energy ( the unit has a 4 star rating). I am currently checking the temperature of the freezer section and I'll have a result at the end of today, so more to follow. The freezer section has three drawers which seem adequate, but be a bit mindful that they are easy to pull right out.
UPDATED INFORMATION 13122023: I have completed my testing of the freezer compartment and the indicated temperature on the display is close to what my thermometer indicated. This is good. I rechecked the refrigerator section and at a setting of 2 degrees , my thermometer is showing 8 degrees. I've moved the thermometer to the bottom shelf for further testing and will report results tomorrow.
UPDATE 14122023. Well I checked the refrigeration compartment this morning. It was set at 3 degrees and came in close to four degrees on the bottom shelf. I'm reasonably happy with this, but I will be checking all shelves in the compartment and the door shelves as well.
UPDATE 15122023 I had another read of the owner manual, and a look inside the refrigerator, and there is a quite limited capacity to alter the height of one of the shelves in the compartment, but the top one only.

WORST FRIDGE EVER PURCHASED AND NO BACKING FROM LG! – About a year after purchase two perfect circular indentions appeared on the top mount door of the fridge. We were curious as to what would have caused this so I… Read more
contacted LG who had no answer & blamed me for the door indentations from some sort of impact. Then at the part where you grab the door, as there is no handle, the black finish has started to chip off. I contacted LG again and again their 'specialist' said there was nothing they could do and that it was not covered under warranty. So, in short, don't buy a fridge from a company who can and will say there's nothing they can do and don't get an extended warranty because its not worth the paper its written on.
Too Noisy – Just bought - from first day the noise is unbearable for me. Otherwise it looks great and is cooling well. The noise coming from the fridge is a high pitched vibrating sound and much noisier than even my 20+ year NEC fridge on its way out. Don't buy if you're wanting a quiet fridge. Show details
Ok, but nothing like my old Fisher & Paykel – After my old Fisher & Paykel died after 15 years of faithful service, I turned to buying a new fridge. I had a specific space the new fridge had to fit into. Unfortunately, F&P had a three-month wait for fridges in that size. So I ended up with an LG, supposedly recommended. I'm stuck with it. My old F&P was superior in every way. To take one… Read more
ergonomic example. The freezer drawers on the F&P were mounted on rails, like a dishwasher, so you could slide them out all the way. When fully extended, the drawers on the LG are still 100m concealed in the fridge. I have to strain my back getting to them.
To take another example, the LG has inconvenient settings for the possible shelf heights in the fridge proper. To set the top shelf so it can accommodate, say, a standard 2 litre fruit juice bottle, you have to squish all the other shelves. This leaves one shelf with a near-unusable height of 30 mm. I have to use a long ruler to retrieve items from this shelf, since my hands won't fit.
Another example. Like most fridges, LG has an open-door alarm. Leave the fridge door open, and it beeps at you. Unfortunately, the LG alarm does not work. You can leave the fridge door open by a good 50mm, and.. no beeps.
LG prides itself on using a linear compressor. Pretty much everyone else uses a scroll compressor. LG's compressor is indeed much quieter and more energy efficient than the typical scroll compressor. Now search for "LG class action". In the USA, LG is being sued because its fridge linear compressors fail so often and so soon.
This so well known that LG now has a prominent badge on its fridges: "Linear compressor guaranteed for ten years (parts only)." Reassuring? No. Note the "parts only". Sure, you will get a shiny new compressor for free. But the LG technician who installs it will charge you like a senior barrister called out on Christmas Day.
I hope my LG will die during my extended warranty period from Appliances Online. Then I'll buy an F&P.
Whole unit stopped working twice in the first two years! – Bought at the Good Guys in 2020. The fridge and freezer both stopped working out of nowhere. takes weeks to come out every time it stops working. Have had a dreadful experience. Wouldn't recommend at all.
Noisy, but I got used to it – The fridge has a good layout and is stylish. Super efficient It is in the kitchen near our Loungeroom. LG in AUS is rubbish – When buying a fridge, description shows door is reversible but did not say only installed by technician, which will cost you ridiculous price of taking few screws off. in addition, when you contact LG service, the staff seems to be an contactor. thing I notice, when owner quote for door reversal, price is bloody big difference across AUS, I saw some user need $280 in perth, $180 in VIC etc. I suggest all of you guys who own LG fridge, when you have problems on the fridge, there are plenty of resources from US /EUROPE. LG in AUS is really a trash. AND NO MORE APPLIANCES FROM LG in my entire life. I'd rather spend more go with luxury brand.
Great freezer storage and good allrounder – Had the fridge for about six months now and very happy with it. Was attracted by the three freezer compartments which are great. Storage for fruit and vegetables could be bigger, with only one drawer provided. Very quiet in operation - never hear it running! Not a lot of bottle storage - still need a separate drinks fridge in the garage! Was limited by kitchen space but for its size it does very well. Show details · 1
5 month review - So far, so good – This fridge has made a huge difference to how long I can keep food fresh for - particularly fresh fruit and veg. It is a good size and the freezer drawers hold a surprising amount of food. The only negatives I have found so far is it is noisy. When the fan is on it is more than just a low background hum, it is loud enough for you to wonder if its normal or not. I am also not a fan of the non-adjustable fridge door shelves. Show details
