That water dispenser – The brushed stainless steel is great. Hard to dirty and easy to clean. The hidden handles also help in keeping it clean. It keeps the temperature well and is quiet economic to run. We really bought this fridge because it looks good and you can reverse the doors while most other fridges are fixed to one side. The process to swap the doors takes a… Read more

The fridge is shelves are well spaced and the bottom retractable shelf is really handy for when you have a party and need to store drink up-right.
The bad: the drink dispenser leaks if you are not careful and dispenses water a bit too slowly for my liking. It also makes a mess when you are trying to re-stock the full water canister.
Over-all the fridge it'self is great........but don't buy it because of the door mounted water dispenser which needs refinement.
Great value fridge – Great value for a fridge of this type, and the water dispenser is a nice addition. Heaps of space in both the fridge and freezer, without having to go up to the next side being double door. Motor can be a little louder than previous fridges though but not overly intrusive. A good fridge – I bought this fridge in October 2016. It is a reliable fridge and the freezer is large, I like the pull out drawers. The water dispenser takes up alot of the door space which is frustrating because if you want to store large bottles there is not enough space for them. Show details
Attractive, cavernous inside, but flawed water dispenser design – We bought this fridge in May 2017, and have been - for the most part - happy with it. It has an attractive, minimalist design, with a stainless steel-style finish, and handles recessed into the sides of the doors rather than attached to the front, which was a nice touch and important to us as we didn't wan't handles that protrude. Its very… Read more
spacious inside considering its external dimensions; well lit with LED lighting on either side of the fridge cavity, and has a smart fold-away shelf, which allows storage for larger items. The shelves seem of quality, with solid plastic and glass construction.
I am impressed with the door shelves and how solid they seem to be - no flexing or movement, they don't feel like that will break or crack with normal use. The fruit and vegetable crisper is large and easy to see into.
The freezer compartments are functional and of generous size. The twist ice-cube tray and receptacle is a handy touch.
The temperature is digitally controlled and has a pre-set temperatures for 'Eco-Mode' which we use, and seem to make a difference to our electricity bill (but that is in comparison to the older, smaller fridge it replaced). It appears to hold temperature well. It is mostly a quiet operator. Occasionally we will hear it buzz but its rarely for a long period of time.
The major let-down is the water dispenser - the main reason we purchased this model.
It is of poor design and construction. The fridge did not dispense water correctly from new, due to a faulty lever mechanism, which was replaced. Less than 6 months later, it is showing symptoms of the same problem again -- having to put excessive force on the lever only to get a dribble of water out which falls mostly into the drip tray or on the floor.
The jug, from which the water dispenses, isn't very well designed either. Good luck refitting it into the fridge door without inadvertently applying pressure to the valve at the bottom and releasing water to drip in the fridge door or through the dispenser hold in the fridge door onto the floor.
In short, the water dispenser is frustrating to use and ruins an otherwise well-designed fridge.
Sleek and functional – I like this fridge a lot. It looks really sleek and it functions as it should. The water dispenser is useful to get cold water without opening the fridge. We need to fill it with water after a few days though. It's very quiet however lately it's been making some loud noises. I'm not sure if it's defrosting yet. It's very easy to clean and it's big enough for a family of 4. Show details
Awesome fridge – This fridge is amazing! It runs silent, seems well made and looks good. The only thing I would say is the water dispenser is useless. I've used it twice and it dribbles water. So you have it wipe the little drops of water away after each use. In all honesty I don't use the water feature because of this. Show details
Good price point. Large capacity – This has been a very quiet fridge to run, and has a great capacity. No auto ice making, and not plumbed, but I never mind filling the ice cube tray anyway. The water tank placement in the middle of the door means you lose a little space for tall bottles in the door space, but not a big problem really. What I have noticed, however, is that… Read more
the water dispenser seems to dribble from behind the lever a little after you pull your cup away. It's not a big problem, as it's just a little bit, and seems to be caught by the (very small) drip tray underneath.
Good capacity fridge and freezer space. Very little space wasted with superfluous drawers, etc.
The brushed stainless steel doesn't seem to mark easily, and any fingerprints I find on it are wiped away without much effort.
Happy with this purchase.
Fantastic fridge – Great fridge with non plumbed water dispenser which provides icy cold water, i used bottled water as my local water supply tastes like pool water (gold coast), the fridge and freezer have huge amounts of room and items are cooled down or frozen very quickly, great choice for medium sized families Show details
Very Disappointed with LG Customer Service – Bought LG fridge in December. We thought it is a good brand so we spent more than other brands were charging for the same fridge. The very second day the dispenser was leaking. We contacted LG customer service and still we have been struggling for LG to fix it or replace the fridge. Its been almost 3 months our dispenser is still leaking. Very Poor service. Will never buy any product from LG again.. Very Disappointed. Show details
Its ok but Water dispenser poorly thought out – Bough this fridge May 2016 from Harvey Norman Richmond. The fridge is meant to be the best performing with 4.5 stars. First of all any problems I have had in the past Harvey Norman normally arrange it directly but this time they told me to call LG direct. So I did to fix the water dispenser. The fridge is good and we don't really have any… Read more
problems. We bought the water dispenser as our last fridge was plumbed in and thought we would like to retain this feature. The water tank is small and hard to refill, almost impossible to remove and put back in and ours has a little flap on the bottom that has broken and leaks. LG to their credit have arranged someone to come and fix it next week.
So no problem with the customer service. But the water dispenser just takes up valuable door space which means you can only get two milk bottles in the door. And in removing the water dispenser one of the plastic clips has broken. The little plastic flap on the bottom if not held up with a finger when replacing the tank means the reservoir will leak out and all over the floor.
Inside the shelves are very adjustable and the bottom shelf has split fold or full fold for large items and is very handy and easy to use.
The freezer has a tiny little ice tray and the draw is only big enough to hold three lots of frozen ice. For example two large glasses with ice just about empties the full ice draw. I know , first world problems right? The draw also broke as it only has to be pulled half way out and it will up turn and fall out onto the ground.
The other draws in the freezer are big and easily usable.
We bought the handle-less model and its neat and works well with large integrated hand grabs on the side.
The door doesn't swing out enough to allow you to pull the vegetable crisper out all the way when you are stacking the purchase from the market on the weekend. You end up straining the door and pulling the crisper on an angle to get it out. Maybe its not made for frequent removal.
I have had LG fridges in the past and other products and would definitely buy them again. This fridge is just a lower model for a rental property, but after we bought it CostCo had it advertised for almost $400 less than we paid. Gee does that sting!
This is so far a great buy – Ok it hasn't been long since we got this new fridge and I can't find my model but this one is the exact same, the only difference is I have a handle on the doors. I check in store, same build, same specs my model is 450 and not 449. This buy was to replace our 12yo Hotpoint import refurbished fridge we got when we moved together with my wife. We… Read more · 1
had a good deal on it at the time. It is still running but by precondition we thought it would be wise to get a new one as that is the one thing you don't want to have problem with. So after a lengthy research we were left with only a few options once all the refining was done. Budget under $1500 delivery included, energy efficient 4 star and over, larger than the one we had, and if possible grey or stainless to keep the colour we have in the kitchen and the bonus for me a water fountain if possible. Well there isn't much with all the restrictions we had... Lg or Samsung. We were going to get our fridge from Harvey Norman but I had a flash and did a research with appliances online, and to my astonishment I found the same fridge for about $400 less, only difference was the handle on the doors. We made the purchase, the delivery was included.
So after 30 days with the new fridge I can say it is great, a lot less noise than our old one, the energy usage will be lowered as well, the big bonus is the alarm when the door isn't shut properly. That's a big bonus for me as the kids did on several occasions didn't shut the previous one and you end up with a big mess if left like that for a full day. So the alarm is already saving me money. The water fountain is very useful, the kids love it and it pushes them to drink more during hot weather, the only down from that is, you have to fill it. The up side, no need to plumb a water inlet with a pressure reduction like my sister in law got, so that's a saving.
It is easy to set the temperature, the pull out shelve is great and also the foldable one too. Easy to access items at the back or if needed a taller space you can fold half a shelve or the entire one, great for parties.
The fruit draw is working great, keeping the moisture of my veggies.
The freezer is great, draws are easy to slide, I have the ice cube tray inbuilt with a small draw to keep them when necessary. That's a big plus.
Also one thing I haven't mentioned is that it doesn't smell in the fridge, even with my stinky cheese in, the smell doesn't travel! That is the extra bonus we were not expecting to work that well, we thought it was just a gimmick but it actually works fine.
Last thing, the warranty is full for 2 years with 10 on the compressor. We added an extra cover for $120 that will cover the fridge against any issues for the next 5 years. So we have the peace of mind that it will perform for a few years.
Very quiet and nice fridge – Extremely quiet running. Lots of freezer space relative to fridge space, which we wanted. Water dispenser does require considerable skill to avoid splashing over floor. Bottom drawer of freezer has a tendency to fall out and when heavily laden can be awkward to replace. Ice tray mechanism works well and is very useful, although sometimes needs… Read more
several turns to get them all out. Upright tall bottle space is a bit limited. Having said that, we like it overall. Fridge shelves glass and easy to wipe over, inside lighting good. Have not had long enough to judge power saving.
