Pros: Great fridge, very roomy, super cold, can customise the temperature for either and both sections. The 3 draw freezer is plenty big enough for 2 people, I store soup, veges, a.whole bag of ice in summer and rubbish at the bottom. The rotating ice tray is handy. Extendable fridge shelf is useful. Water Dispenser: In summer we add half ice… Read more

on top of the water and then have blizzardly cold water to drink. (Ice first may block the dispenser). Cons: only a couple and fairly minor. The water box gets dirty quick so I wash it out with hot water every couple weeks. Possibly due to commercial ice as we use filtered clean water. The dispenser will drip to the floor if you take the glass/bottle away too soon. Just a habit I had to learn. Noise: I don't think it's noticeable at all. The inside does seem to have a gentle hum. But hey, it's inverted ... it won't be silent. The motor is on the top of fridge so will be more noticeable by tall people with good hearing.

This fridge is terrible. I bought the water dispenser model as I thought it would be great when I used it it would drip water constantly all over the floor from the dispenser. I tried different types of glasses as I thought that might be the issue. But it continued to spill water. I stopped using the water dispenser and the the other day after not… Read more

using the fillable containing for 6 month tried it out again and when I puller the water cartridge out it was covered in mould around the outside of the casing. This is an obvious defect. I’ve never seen anything like it. LG are not yet acknowledging this to be a defect but it needs to be investigated

I can hear it running from the other end of my house (at times) – I wish I read the reviews on here before purchasing my LG fridge. It's roomy and looks the part but man, the noise! I couldn't find any reviews because I have the GB-455WL. I regret the purchase. I thought "upgrading" from a Haier would yield a better quality product but I just feel taken advantage of. The temperature control seems to work well. I… Read more

hate smart features in appliances and won't bother utilizing any of that, so can't comment. OH! The door doesn't close. There are two little nubs - one on the bottom of the door and another on the top of the freezer door. I assume these are to support the weight of the fridge door but when closing the fridge door, it bumps this nub and stops it from closing. Design flaw or what? No - I don't have much in the door that would weigh it down (especially after I learned about this problem)

Disappointed – This is a lovely fridge in relation to its layout, finish and space. The huge issue for me is the compressor is quite disturbingly noisy. So much so after several weeks I have contacted the LG and the store that I bought it from and will be getting a refund or a replacement. Very disappointed.

This fridge is not worth your hard earned money – Honestly, do not even consider purchasing this fridge as it has a couple of major flaws that are both annoying and unacceptable given its price. The lower freezer door does not close easily and has to be be slammed shut which makes the entire fridge rattle. It has no alarm to alert if it is still open which more often than not is…vexing to say the… Read more

least! To add insult to injury, LG do not acknowledge this as a problem and have chosen to do absolutely nothing about it even though I purchased it a few short weeks ago and is still very much under warranty. I am extremely disappointed with LG and hope AOL take my comments seriously.

Style over substance? – Matt black finish looks great and functional. Size and layout fine for 2-3 people and suits our needs although we run a second fridge/freezer in the garage. Water tank requires refilling daily, takes up fair bit of door space and is a bit of a chore to remove, refill and re-insert. We have given up on inbuilt tank and reverted to a water jug… Read more ·  1

with filter. I think a plumbed version or no water tank will be in order next time. Bit noisier than I expected but tolerable. I've had worse. I think I got what you paid for.

A month in a loving it! – I've owned this fridge for a month now after buying it to fit into my new place. The fridge itself is smaller than my old one dimension wise, but just as big interior which was really appreciated it. I haven't noticed any issues with noise, everything gets cold quickly and ice freezes in no time. I really like the water dispenser, it can run… Read more ·  1

out quickly, but it's easy enough to keep on top of. The nozzle sometimes gets hit when you place it back in, causing water to come out, but if you take your time it's not a problem.

One of the main reasons I bought this was for the reversible door, my old place had the kitchen on the left side and the new one has it on the right. So I'm able to have this swapped over so I'm not needing to back against a wall to get to open the fridge.

Extremely noisy after a week and it doesn't stop – Practical and functioning product, but VERY noisy, it's sounds more noisy then my 20 year old fridge! I won't recommend anyone to go with LG fridges. On website it states it's "quite with less moving parts", but that's not TRUE. It's constantly making humming/buzzing noises. It only started making noise after a WEEK OF USE and now we can hear it… Read more

over our TV! During the night it can be heard from the other room.

Called the LG to report the issue and they've sent a deaf technician who's stating it's operating normally and that's how the inverter compressor should sound like, what a nice explanation when on the website it's advertised it operates quietly. There are also noise coming from the motherboard which we pointed to the technician who also confirmed it's quite normal?! Additionally he advised us that the new fridges with invertor compressor use different Freon gas which causes a noise. Since when gas circulating around can cause more noise?!

So if you wanna a jukebox with techno noise which also cools your food/drinks, buy this fridge, if not stay away from LG fridges!

Can't even replace the fridge as JB-HI-FI states they can't do anything if LG doesn't say it's operating normally, and according to this deaf technician we're stuck with this noisy box.

I'll never buy LG fridges, since they're falsely advertising and their support is a joke!

LG bottom mount fridge freezer - shockingly noisy – I would advise very strongly against any LG fridge based on my experience. We bought a LG Linear Compressor fridge/freezer a couple of years ago and it has been a nightmare. Was getting louder and louder (constant buzzing/humming LOUDLY) and requested service (the aftersales service was also a nightmare but that's another story). Eventually,… Read more

compressor diagnosed as problem and was replaced. No change to noise issue. Service called again, tech came out again, fourth or fifth time. Noise dampening added, whatever else they did. Seemed better for a while. Noise came back. So offensively loud. Dog can't even sleep near it. Never again LG fridge. And the service experience and quality of this product has put me off LG products completely.

LG GB-455 Door Reversal User Guide – Previously had a LG bottom mount fridge for 18 years which was still going strong (motor wise) but a few bits had broken over many years and was also getting too small for us. Replaced with the LG-GB-W455MBL and the extra space is now perfect. Interestingly the motor noise on this new model is louder than the older one we had but its not an issue.… Read more ·  2

The motor sound on this one is like a faint low pitch buzzing sound not a high pitched noise like another review. The door layout is perfect for us... 2x 3L milks fit fine inc. water dispenser and shelf layout is good with folding shelf option. The loose 8 egg holder is a bit silly compare with our previous fully secure moulded one (a bit more effort in design and slight cost could see 3 rows by 5 eggs meaning 15 egg holders in one support tray). The water dispenser on this model is also a poor design. It is impossible to fill a suitable glass using it how it should be done without dripping water onto the floor. The recess is not deep enough. To fill a glass without dripping 'water' you need to hold the glass in a specific position and manually press the water release lever with your other hand (and then only a drip or two end up in the catch plate at the bottom). Ok for us, but not ok for kids to remember the careful steps. Freezer working well so far inc. ice maker. Looks nice in Matt Black. We also were disappointed there are no instructions to reverse the doors over despite LG advertising this model as reversible and the salesperson also confirming this to us. Anyway, as we had done our previous model and experience in this it was relatively easy to do. I have attached a user guide on the general steps required (use at own risk as it is not a definitive or official manual just an overall guide).
