Hi Just bought GC-P197DPSL connected the water to the back of the fridge . I checked that the ice maker works - ie tilts to despense the ice and then water is delivered into the ice making tray once again.

However the water resivor holding tank that is located in the fridge part behind the crisper isn’t filling up with water hence when we try to collect a glass of water at the dispenser nothing comes out. Help please

You need to prime the water supply as majority of people use it till it’s empty , if you prime the water line then most likely you need to replace the pump it self

How do i turn on the ice maker as it is not working,

We didn't use it for a long tie as we didn't have plumbing.

Seeking a fair go.
Seeking a fair go.

My fridge is the DPSL which holds the water in a container in the door. It is not connected to the mains water supply. The fridge you have would be the DPNL I think. There are three possibilities for why you are not getting any ice:

1. The filter mat still have its sealing cap on it. You'll need to locate the filter and remove the cap to allow water to flow into the fridge.

2. You don't have enough water pressure to activate the system. Not likely unless you are using tank water.

3. There's a kink or blockage in the water line leading to the fridge.

A possible fourth reason may be that some models have a separate switch on the control panel which allows you to turn the water and ice on or off. Check that it is turned on if there is a switch.

Check that the bar on the ice bucket is hitting the switch at back, and that the switch is moving freely.

Also small button under ice tray near motor should make the tray rotate, if not the motor is buggered.

Have you managed to figure this out? There's a plastic tray next to the ice container that you need to pull out & behind that is a switch to turn on & off whenever you like
