LG GC-P197DPSL (567L, Stainless Steel) Questions & Answers
VerifiedHello fellow LG GC-P197DPSL fridge users - we keep getting large water drops under our top shelf. I pulled out the fridge, and vacumed the air inlets/outlets, and it stopped for a few day, but then returned. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
My LG GC-P197DSPL is dispensing water but we are not getting any ice. Not filling the ice tray with water. Any ideas?
We are the same ... how did you fix this issue
Our freezer department is not getting cold enough. With the freezer department is empty it only gets down to minus 4.The fridge part gets down to about 3 degrees, what could be the problem.
My understanding is that a freezer only needs to be -18 Celsius or colder. Not sure if you were quoting Fahrenheit ? Also if you put more items in a freezer even if its just freezer packs or sealed blocks of ice it will get colder and remain colder. You need to have things in your freezer for it to keep the cold better
Its is minis 4 degees C.When the freezes was loaded, some of the food was starting to thaw,we caught it in time. I have just cleaned the condenser coil so I hope that works.
Tony did cleaning the condenser coil work? I have just noticed the same problem with mine.
No Daryl it did not work.At the moment I'm just monitoring it with a temperature guage, which seems to be all over the place,from-2 to -17 nothing steady,so I don't no.I checked the main circuit board and it all looks good,no caps are bulging and nothing burnt.
Tony, I had the same issue with my fridge some time ago. The issue was the coils behind the inside back panel of the freezer, they were faulty and needed to be replaced. We got in touch with LG and they sent someone out to repair it at no cost as it was under warranty. Hope this helps.
We have a LG Fridge/Freezer which is continually beeping, 3 times every 30 seconds. How do we make it stop? The doors are closed and there are no error indicators appearing on the panel. Model # GC-P197DPSL.

Need help. Our water dispenser suddenly stopped working. It's still making ice though. We have replaced the filter and it's still not working. also have raised temp for freezer and fridge but in case that doesn't work either, what else can we try?
Thanks
Hi, my see that there is no response t this. We have the Exact same problem with out water on the fridge. Did you end up getting to the source of the problem? [email removed]
Hi Mel
Yeah we ended up defrosting the freezing and it worked and has been fine since. :)
I have the exact same issue. Dispenses and makes ice no worries but does not dispense water. You can hear a click when you push the dispenser but we get no water through. I have turned off the fridge for a week and cleaned everything including the water tank. Fridge has new water lines and pressure is ok.
Hi everyone, need some help with a LG fridge freezer gc-p197dpsl. The compressor is not cutting in so fridge and freezer not getting cold, no fault codes coming up. Checked the voltage @ compressor and only getting 170vac, 240 @ the outlet, all fans are running and working fine. Checked the defrost heater and changed the thermostat, both where working. what should the voltage be at the compressor???? Main board I'm thinking, but don't want to change it without being sure. ANY SUGGESTIONS? THANKS IN ADVANCE
Hi James,
Could you please let us know where the freezer thermostat is located and also where did you buy the replacement part?
Tia
Rachel
Hi there, Rachel The heater element thermostat is located behind the back inside panel of the freezer where the element is. that panel pulls out with a little care , I bought the parts from statewide appliance spares in Adelaide. They posted them at a reasonable cost.
hope that helps
Our ice maker continues to make ice, even when the bucket is full. This happens summer and winter. Can we turn this feature off for the winter at least?
Yes, you can stop the ice from being made & whenever you like, at the flick of a switch
Our water dispenser is not working. Any suggestions? I have tried the usual trouble shooting.
I have one.
Has the filter blocked on the water line?
Occasionally the water tank/line freezes increase fridge temp, increase freezer temp for a couple days.
Michael
my ice dispenser chute keeps frosting up, I went away for three weeks when I came back I could not open the freezer door because the frost had built up between the ice maker and the delivery chute does any one have any clues?
You should have a cover that goes on the inside of the Shute for long periods of non use.
Did you use that?
I also turn my ice maker off if I'm going away
Mine was doing the same thing. Sometimes when you dispense ice a couple of cubes get stuck and jam the flap open. After this happens a couple of times the flap stops shutting properly and the freezer keeps frosting up. Luckily the service technician picked this up when fixing water pump and replaced the flap assembly.
