Hi Just wondering if the top rack of LG dishwasher model LD -1481W4 will fit model LD-1482T4 as the top rack of my dishwasher has rusted to the point that pieces are falling off and I am afraid that it may get stuck in the pipe and cause an issue. If not that model then which other models will be compatible? Please can you advise ASAP. Many thanks, Sabrina
How much for the 3 racks as they have rusted. I note many other complaints about rusting racks. How long should they last. What warranty comes with these replacement parts as I note complaints about rusting racks after 3 months. Are the newer racks of higher quality.
Purchased this Dishwasher just over 5yrs ago. The top rack is totally rusted to the point that the powder coating is there but the metal has rotted away completely, the other 2 racks are now beginning to show signs of rust and deterioration. I never knew that metal would rust in an appliance that is designed for heavy water use. After contacting LG and speaking to call centre in Manilla, the man advised me to try and put a cup of water or milk in the machine to try and rectify the staining on the metal. Obviously a misunderstanding in communication. He then advised me to contact my local repairer for an inspection and LG would take it from there. After speaking to the repairer they told me that it would cost $160 just to inspect the issue and that payment would be required upfront. Not happy with this information I contacted LG Live Chat which are Australian based, and was told "We note that the Manufacturer’s Warranty has expired. We have considered the Australian Consumer Law and given the age of your dishwasher, LG considers that the product has been of acceptable quality for a reasonable period of time. As such the consumer guarantees no longer apply and LG does not believe that it is liable to provide you with a remedy under the Australian Consumer Law." Which leads me to this post. I wish I could upload an image...... The deterioration did not happen overnight, and to be honest would have taken a bit of time for the amount of erosion, we did not notice the extent as it is on the side and under the removable trays which we never remove. I am very disappointed by the lack of consumer care, as someone that used to promote and sell LG products I am now feeling quilt that I sold their products to others.
how to setup machine for half load running
Not even 5 years old and it looks like the drain pump has broken. LG put me in touch with their repair people. He said a cheap repair..... $250! Obviously out of warranty, but Australian Consumer Law says it should last longer than that(7 -10 yrs?) Will be chasing LG up about this. Any Reps care to comment.
Has a problem with our Samsung fridge/freezer. They came out and fixed it within 3 days. Great service
Update: After contacting LG via there website and mentioning ACL, they arranged a replacement under ACL, so very happy. Well done LG.
LG is not built to last, just after our dishwasher pump went and they wouldn’t repair it, our LG ice maker on our fridge/freezer went and we bought both items at the same time. Bottom line... don’t buy LG.

how I can use half load button
I have a setting that gives me a 15 min super quick load or if I have a few things I use the 30 minute load. You don't have to have a full load to do a wash.
I have not tried the half load option as yet but my understanding is you select the top or bottom rack that you want to wash !
Looking at the reviews, the latest ones are great, the ones over two years not so great... has there been a change in the manufacture of this machine?

Just pray nothing goes wrong. I had dept. of Commerce contact me today, saying they have never in there life dealing with companies had a bigger run around than LG. I think eventually these sort of practices will end the company. You can't just forget about the customer when things go wrong.
Does thr LD-1482T4 have a rinse cycle, if so how do you access it?
I've had a look, and as far as I am aware there is no separate rinse cycle, only what is incorporated into the normal wash cycles.
I just bought the dishwasher one week ago,I've used it for four times and I noticed every time when it was working there was always has rubber smell,like you are heating rubber.It's normal for a brand new unit or not?Another thing I noticed the door is a little bit slight out on the right side.
Hi Annie. I haven't had the problems you have with my dishwasher. That doesn't sound right to me, maybe ask the shop you got it from? All the best with that. The only issue I have had is with the dinner plates being too big to fit, but I just got slightly smaller ones.
Hi Annie. If your door is still out of alignment the book says it is the leveling of the machine. We had to adjust the legs on it to 'straighten' the door when we bought ours.
We are awaiting delivery of our LG Dishwasher, Model LD-1482T4 and were wondering what products people find best to use or not to use? Liquid or powder and what brand? I was informed by an LG rep to use only Dishwasher specified products as if 'sink dishwashing is used, oversudsing and leaking can occur' We're all good in understanding that part. Thank goodness!

We have only ever used Finish Powerball products, and have never had a problem with these.

We've been using the Finish products that came free for six months with ours when we bought it. I find that their tablets get stuck in the little detergent dispenser so I just put it in the bottom of the dishwasher instead. While we were waiting for them to be sent out we used Aldi dish washing tablets and they are just as good, much cheaper and never got stuck. At the end of the day, it's just caustic detergent and they're all made from the same stuff so buy the cheapest.

We have just purchased the LG LD 1482 T dishwasher and have used it for the 1st time tonight . Chose the auto option and the cycle took 2 hrs & 50 mins . Is that normal/ correct ? Seems like an awfully long time ?
Yes it does take a long time.
We use the quick setting, takes 30 minutes and always great results
That time for the auto setting is correct and mine is about the same. I stick it on before bed and don't worry about it until the next day. I think it will vary a little depending on the cloudiness of the water. Water saving appliances always seem to take a long time. The quick cycle is obviously faster but is noisier and uses more water.

I'm looking at purchasing the LD-1482T4, I have read a couple of reviews saying that large dinner plates don't fit?
Does adjusting the upper rack not help?
Will eagerly await for a reply before I purchase.

On the bottom rack one side has prongs that are more upright and the other side is more angled. Our dinner plates fit just fine in the more angled ones. The more upright side does not fit our dinner plates underneath the spinning water fan thing even with the upper rack adjusted to be in its highest position. Take a dinner plate with you to the shop and test it out. Hope this helps. Cheers.
I have had no problem with large dinner plates, serving plates, roasting dishes or large items. If people are to stupid to understand how the dishwasher works or how to place there items correctly, that is their problem.
