LG Microwave - quiet achiever – We've had this microwave oven since 2008, and it has never given us cause for concern. Always in the background, doing it's job, every day, faultlessly. Dead easy to operate. 14 years! Not a single failure. And so easy to clean, with no corners and crevices. Until it's time to be replaced, one tends not to even notice it. In fact, it's only being… Read more ·  1

replaced in order to downsize (as it is quite large as domestic microwaves go). Will be looking at another LG for a replacement.

Great microwave with a long life – We've never had a minute's problem with this microwave, and we're a little sad that it's finally given up. I'm emphatically NOT a good cook, but it's been used to heat up innumerable frozen meals, cups of tea left for too long, baby bottles ... and yes, even cooking. I don't think a single day has gone by without it being used at least once in… Read more ·  2

those almost-14-years. If nothing else, that's a testimony for the door hinges!

I believe my most-loved feature is being able to just push Start for a 30s timer, without having to set anything else. So if I want to heat something for a minute, rather than pressing 1 + 0 + 0 + Start, I just press Start twice. I'm starting to look for a replacement and my first stop was the LG website. I really hope I can find another one that works as well as this one did.

Loved this machine – I've had this machine almost 10yrs without a single fault. Absolutely love the curved back! Very easy to clean. The diode fuse blew and cost me under $20 to replace it myself. Was sad to find it no longer sold  Show details

Great microwave for the price – After a kitchen remodel, my 25 year old convection microwave was too bulky to fit into (our even onto!) the cabinet. A quick drive to my local appliance dealer found a large microwave that would suit the purpose, and very cheap! With kids in the house, I was definitely in need of a quick heating option, so grabbed this lg with the curved back. … Read more

It was a bit glitchy, and often turned off mid cook, and after 6 months, stopped working all together. A return to the store supplied me with a replacement model and no more issues.

So, the kitchen remodel was 11 years ago, and my $109 microwave died on the weekend - right between my husbands meat pie and my bowl of porridge. In this 11 years it's coped with the many needs of a family of six, 4 of whom are teenage boys who used it constantly in their quest to keep their bottomless pits of stomachs filled, and it's dealt with the numerous bottles and mash I've mixed for the animal rescue work I do.

While this model is now not even on the market, I just wanted to give thanks where thanks is due.

I loved the curved back - made cleaning so much easier.

I loved the preset menus - I'm pretty sure I used every one over the years.

I loved the minute preset, and the add or reduce by 10 second option - this was pretty awesome when trying to juggle a wriggling wombat and a heat bag that needed warming.

All in all, I'm very happy with my cheap microwave. I've just bought the MS4296OWS, and am waiting eagerly for its delivery. I'm hoping to be as happy with it - it has big shoes to fill.

Incredibly noisy – We only use microwave for defrost and reheat so just wanted something basic and cheap. This microwave is simple to use and has intuitive controls but the good news stops there. It is very noisy, heats inconsistantly and unevenly. If we were heavy microwave users we would have replaced it by now. As it is we will put up with it until it dies or install it in the camper trailer so we can get something shiny and new.

How Long Should they last – Mine lasted 4.5 years for $195.00 so I guess that's about standard. The body and everything is OK just the heating component is stuffed. Would like to find a repairer to restore to normal but that is hard and expensive as buying a new one. This seems to be a throwaway society. Cost to return for repairs etc too much. Always worked well. Used everyday Short life

Top Little Cook! – This microwave is so easy to use. After reading the guide my sister is cooking food in it instead of just making her beloved 2 minute noodles and Easy Macs. Now we can all eat her food and it's not bad. Great defrost for the bbq and good for evenly keeping everything warm while doing another grill full. A nice and powerful yet subtle little… Read more ·  1

machine. This product has always done its job. The screen is easy to read and the OS is interactive and informative and very helpful. Needs MP3 or an FM radio or android :)

LG Microwave – This was a housewarming gift from my generous Ma. It has been a really reliable unit. Very very easy to clean because it has a curved wall interior. Great for heating of course but also for cooking and I love the auto defrost feature. So easy to understand and use. You can't go wrong with one of these in my opinion. The curved interior

OK – I doubt I would buy an LG again, though I hope I can still find a round cavity in others. The 34L size is great and the round cavity makes it ideal to clean. Reliability. Bought it in December 2007 and had it repaired in November 2008 under warranty when it shorted out then would not heat anything. That repair lasted until March 2011 when the… Read more

same thing occurred. I had expected a longer life from the unit and after reading other reviewers having similar faults it sounds like a common problem with the model.

Bad – Feels a lot cheaper than the older microwave we had. Is fairly noisy compared to the old philips one we had but that was a lot older. Good size.Hopefully it will be a good unit when it gets fixed. Feels cheap on the opening and closing. Keypad failed in a week. Timer function lets the turntable run as well as the timer and does not run on it's own.

Terrible – First time I purchased on 2 May 2008 and lasted unitl 2 December 2008 failed to heat. Replacement under warranty lasted till the 2 January 2009!!!! Will be looking for something other than LG. Good size and easy to clean Durability leaves a lot to be desired

OK – I am unsure about the quality, since buying it I have heard of problems with LG microwaves. Hopefully it will last, maybe not as long as our last one, but at least a couple of years. Looks good, easy to clean Within 6 weeks our first one stopped heating. After a discussion with the retailer we bought it from & threats to go to Fair Trading, we… Read more

received a replacement. That was about 5 months ago, so far, so good. It does feel flimsy when opening the door, but our previous one was 8 years old & rather heavy.

Bad – Unit looks the goods and was good while it lasted but 12 months from an appliance is just far too short. Won't purchase LG again :( Round Cavity makes unit easy to clean Unit lasted just 12 months and then short circuited, causing unit to spark whilst heating.

Excellent – This model was purchased in a hurry without much thought or a check of this website. It was not overly expensive ($200 ?) and will do until we need a new one. The auto functions work great and having the list on the inside of the door is a time saver for when I cant find the book! Round Cavity makes unit easy to clean. I love that is is white like… Read more

the rest of my appliances. Good size for fitting casserole dishes etc in it. the clock on it keeps resetting so I have stopped setting the time. Once in a while I have to turn it off at wall and back on as it has a tendency to start and cook on its own accord (with nothing in it!).

Bad – Won't be buying LG microwaves again, this model is some very serious issues and LG should have recalled them. 12 mth warranty is too short. Very dissappointed and feel I've been ripped off. Looks good, easy reference on inside for button functions, many worthwhile functions like porridge are great! 12 mths warranty is poor, this unit is not made… Read more

to last. I've had the turn table mechanism replaced under warranty, then just after the warranty expired it failed to heat anything, I managed to have it repaired free of charge after they took pity on me. Now just 2 months later the keypad has failed, works intermitently but several keys will do the wrong function when pressed. ie. the 1, 3 and 6 will all come up as 6 when pressed!

Sensor cook a winner – Would never go back to a square cavity again. Round cavity is a winner for cleaning. We use sensor cook for all our pasta and rice dishes. Somehow the microwave cooks it to perfection every time - how do they do that. Sensor cook and unique cavity, cheap price.

Good – This microwave replaced a Panasonic model that was 15 years old. Time will tell if this unit will last as long as the Panasonic but so far we are happy with this unit. This unit has lots of sensor cooking options but you need to remember the order the buttons need to be pressed to make it work. I would have liked a more user friendly display… Read more

that prompts you before you press the buttons. Having said this I am happy with this unit to date. Great price, Easy to clean inside due to round interior, Good sensor cooking Menus not easy to remember

Excellent – I've had this microwave for a fortnight now and love it - it's a good size, the stainless steel finish is relly attractive - it feels "well made" - the rounded white interior is super easy to keep clean - no corneres for food to get trapped in ! all the power levels and defrost/reheat menus are printed on the interior too - so ahndy if you lost… Read more

Good – This microve is a good soe one, it has a rounded interior and fits most good sized dinner plats. It has a great sensory setting for both cooking a defrosting food. It also has a reheat function that is good. Good Size, fits most standard plates, has great sensory options
