Bought one about 14 months ago and one month ago it stopped heating/working. Was asked to register the product for warranty claim, but LG website never allowed me to register the product (I have an account with other previous LG products purchased and registered). I had to send them an email about the issue I experienced more than 2 weeks ago, however nevered heard back from them. Very disappointed with their after purchase service. Show details
Tried to lodge an outside of warranty claim for poor workmanship of the microwave. The enamel is bubbling from underneath due to be what seems like a fault. Was accused of not cleaning the microwave properly when we always clean it. Then is also developed a fault with the display missing part of the numbers, I am not being contacted by LG at all… Read more
even after multiple support requests. I am being dismissed by the escalation team as not cleaning the microwave. Will never purchased another LG appliance again. Disgusting customer service, LG is ignoring Consumer Law trying to refer me to the retailer and taking no ownership over a product they manufactured. Will be taking LG to the Magistrate's Court as the longer this issue goes on for the longer the rust that has developed in my microwave will damage the food that is cooked for my family. This is now causing health concerns.
Purchased to work alongside an 7yr old sharp inverter carousel 1200w. Disappointed as the sharp is much quicker heating by 50%.The LG heats uneven. We use our microwaves frequently and would prefer not to use this at all.
The 10 Year Warranty is a Lie – This microwave has a '10-Year Warranty' label proudly showing on the front. The Microwave worked well for just over 3 years, then stopped working (it still starts and spins but has stopped heating anything up). I contacted warranty support and was advised that the warranty on the inverter is for 10 years, but the warranty on the microwave is for 2… Read more
years. Since the microwave is over 2 years old, they advised that the warranty has expired and directed me to my nearest Authorised Service Centre to have the microwave repaired, at my expense. So much for the 10-year warranty! It's safe to say that I'll never buy an LG microwave again!
Lemon!! – This is the second microwave in this brand/model first one stopped heating, second one just past warranty has started to rust! LG have handballed this. Would love to know my consumer rights on what is clearly a dodgy product since it's now discontinued! Oh and it cuts the wifi off. Show details
Lg rusted microwave – Rust Inside after 2 years , cheap created and if you go scroll in reviews , I am not the first complain of rust in this particular model, Lg will not take responsibility Show details
what the hell – this unit is just 12 months old. got up sunday morning to find it running yet no one awake yet. it had been running long enought to melt the plate carrier ring and also melt the glass plate in 1 location. I am torn whether or not to purchase a new plate and ring and hope this doesnt happen again or dump it
Just over three years old and it stopped heating – This microwave has two years overall part and labor warranty, unfortunately in my case it has been just over three years old. It sound like it is still running, but it does not heat food at all. I have called LG support and been advised that if the fault is with the magnetron, they will provide part to the authorised repair service centre, but i… Read more
will have to pay for the labor fee. They provided me the contact info of the repair centre, which is 30min from my place, i have then called them to obtain the quote on the labor fee, i have been advised that the first 20 minutes will be $110, if they can sort it out within 20min, then i will only pay $110, otherwise i will have to pay for an additional fee thereafter.
I have decided not to proceed with it. Instead, i have opened the microwave myself and found one of the round/ring magnets on the magnetron broke to pieces. The replacement part (2M286 21TBGH) from ebay is $70. I am still undecided. I may just dump it. I have now brought the old 15ish years old Sanyo microwave back in from the shed to use. The damn thing is still working.
In short, i do not recommend this microwave.
Love it – I love that it cooks and reheats to perfection. Heats evenly with no overcooked edges. Easy touch buttons. A happy little tune when it's done. All in all - amazing. LG Rocks! Show details · 1
Stopped heating at 8mths old – Looks sleek and slimline. The menu reasonably easy, larger time increments not really that bad, just stop it early. Surprised by the finish tune, but loved it. Despite all the good things it stopped heating and now only intermittently works. Can’t comment on aftercare just yet- had to leave with JB HiFi as their ‘solver’ program was down - so at this stage not sure if will be repair or replace under warranty. Show details
The worst LG microwave I have ever bought – Previous to this LG, I had a Sharp 1200 W inverter model, even though this is advertised as a 1200 watt model I am sure the Sharp was more powerful. Plus I liked to be able to punch the exact time in for cooking. I will not buy an LG microwave next time if they persist with this electronics rubbish, for the settings! Show details

Love the way it sounds – Bought it on Boxing Day. Awesome looking, easy to clean and heating food quick and even. Love it's sounds, anyone who wants to buy any LG application, suggest to google the way it sound first. Show details · 1

Find out how LG NeoChef 42L Smart Inverter MS4236 compares to other Microwaves
Know better, choose better.
Great microwave – The LG neochef is popular for good reason. The overall design is super sleek, we chose the all black version. There's no knobs at the front, just a touch screen design. We were worried about fingerprints, but with a quick wipe its brand new again. It's really simple to work, just press the '+' button to turn on in 30sec intervals. Food is warmed… Read more
up fast and evenly. There are other functions, which are found inside the microwave after opening the door. Super simple to set to your desired setting mode. I'm really glad we chose the 42L version as its big enough to fit our large bowls and plates. It's such a quiet microwave and after its completed, it will play a 10second melody which is much better than the loud beeping of other microwaves
18 months old and its dead – Microwave purchased in January 2018, worked fine until 5 September 2019 when it stopped heating anything that was placed inside. The oven makes all the same sounds when its on, carousel spins, fan runs, clock counts down etc but the food is stone cold. Won't be buying another LG model that's for sure. I'm guessing the cost of repair would be a… Read more
minimum of $100 for a technician to look at it. Given thats around 25-30% of the purchase price, I'd say that's the end of what was a reasonably expensive microwave. Inverter technology is not for me anymore.
Effective cooking, stylish design – I found the cooking the be very efficient, if a little on the noisy side. The ability to change power settings is very useful if you need to simmer rice for 12 - 20 mins for example. Contrary to some other reviews I actually found the control buttons to be quite user friendly, for example there are several ways to increase heating time. Overall it is good value for money. It's not as good as The Sharp Carousel, I hope you like show tunes – Well, if you lived in a house where others were sleeping or didn't want noise overtime it finishes heating this would be a problem. It has some kind of show tune jingle that grows on you instead of a ding. It is quite extensive and loud though. My neighbours probably hear it. The clean lines and cleanliness is great, but having owned a Sharp… Read more
Carousel inverter, this sadly doesn't match up. I still can't decipher the 3 defrost levels or how to get it just to do it in one go. The buttons are simplified which I liked, but they are not intuitive at all, where as the sharp defrost and reheats to perfection with like one button press if i remember, it does the thinking, it is intuitive and knows best. Sadly I was sucked in by the sale price and have other great LG products.
giant machine does cute little things – I am so used to microwave Ding on completion, but never music. This microwave makes a lot of cute sounds, that makes cooking enjoyable. The main thing is that you really need to read the instruction manual in order to know your functions buttons. AS there are only few buttons and very plain interface without too much icons and words. I like… Read more
the design, plain and simple with no mess!.
I specially like the pull apart door. The previous microwave had button lock which sometimes malfunction and doesn't unlock (fixed it few time)
For the first time (old fashion) I see a microwave goes into "cool" motion. that was interesting. I wasn't sure whether to unplug or to just leave it cooling down.
So I am going back to my manual and do more reading on this product so that I can use it to its full potential.
Great big microwave – I purchased this from harvey norman on sale. I am happy with the price on this. This microwave is only good in a ventilated area. Instructions are to keep 20cm space all around including on top of appliance. Cooks well, plenty of space Show details
This oven says it can fire clay!!! – A microwave cannot fire clay!! I just saw an add for this oven and that was their claim... That is absolutely ridiculous. I cannot comment on the appliance at hand, it may warm a mean curry. However, there is no chance it can fire a clay bowl!! LG, I think you might be exaggerating..? Show details
Not working and six weeks old – NeoChef, 42L Smart Inverter Microwave Oven MS4236DW We bought this microwave after our old LG broke down at ten years old. From the start the unit didn't work properly - food not hot, cooling function running for minutes after unit being used for 30 secs. After six weeks it stopped working altogether. We called LG support four times that day.… Read more
We were promised return calls that didn't happen. Finally we were told that we could take the unit to a service centre to be assessed. Terrible product and even worse service from LG. LG never again!
