Significant rust found ! Recently discovered rust formulating in the interior of the microwave. The microwave is out of warranty by two months of the two year warranty period. I’ve contacted the Lg customer services department and have had a reply requesting more information and there response with regard to the rusting issue as follows - “Humidity and Steam: High moisture levels from cooking can accelerate rust formation. - Food Spills and Residue: Leftover food particles and liquids can trap moisture, leading to corrosion. - Lack of Cleaning: Regular maintenance helps prevent rust by removing moisture and food debris. Also note that the Customer Service department have asked whether the oven is still heating.
As many other consumers who have posted about this product., I’m concerned about the potential safety outcomes of further use.
I will update this review when I get a reply back from the Customer Service department with their final decision having read other reviews regarding rust on this product , I don’t hold out much hope of a positive resolution with LG .
To update LG as suspected failed to give a positive resolution, and have ceased email communication, my customer service experience has been appalling, I contacted the OFT for there assistance of which to my knowledge LG ignored their communication.
I hope this review is helpful to other consumers and that they might think twice before buying LG products, I will certainly never buy anything from LG again.

Don't waste your money. We bought an LG magnetron microwave 2 years ago, now has a significant rust spot (which means it can't be safely used) and LG service said "it's not a manufacturing issue". Were going back to sharp microwaves which I've had for close to 10 years previously without problem. I won't buy an LG product again.

Risky to use – After couple of years of using it, the microwave got rust in the back. Turning it on creates fire. Have to throw it in the bin. I would not recommend spending money on it. Even my old Microwave did not have this issues after using it for 8 years.
Great marketing for a rubbish product – The advertisements for this microwave look great. Unfortunately this would be the worst microwave I have ever owned. Doesn't heat food evenly. Some parts boiling hot some parts cold. After heating a couple of meals amount of time it takes would approximately double to get food at same tempreture. Rubbish overpriced product.
Second Replacement - Hoping It Lasts the Distance – I always research any products before I purchase and at the time LG NeoChef matched what we were looking for. I also like that it had a 2 year warranty, not that it really matters so much as Australian Consumer Law kicks in and fit for purpose precedes any warranty. We purchased this in Nov 2021 and immediately loved it. However in August 2022 the microwave stopped heating. We spoke with customer service, who were fantastic. They did make comments about getting it possibly repaired but I immediately told them that I was not going to accept a repair and only a new machine would suffice. It turned out the magnetron had gone on the machine. This looks to be an issue with them after looking at reviews today. Customer service within 24 hours had contacted The Good Guys where I had purchased and arranged a new machine, just in a different colour.
I really hope this second one lasts as I do really like this oven.
Pros: Looks very sleek. Easy to clean inside and out. Love that it weighs items and cooks accordingly. Comes with a steamer in the box. Easy touch panel. Nice and big inside. Cooks and defrosts quickly. Quiet machine. Customer service was good.
Cons: It’s my second replacement and I'm hoping my last. If it fails again, with a magnetron issue then it will be a refund I will be requesting. Apart from this, that would be my only con.
Purchased at The Good Guys for $299.
