LG Series 9 Front Load Washer Dryer Combo (WVC9-1412B)

Very pleasantly surprised! – I was highly sceptical about buying a washer-dryer combo as I’ve never heard a good word spoken about them, but I have to admit I am impressed. I have a young family, so my 10+ year old Electrolux appliances took an absolute flogging. When the dryer finally gave up on me I decided to look at a combo due to the space saving, and I liked the idea of an all in one since it was not uncommon for wet clothes to be left sad and abandoned in the washer because I’d gone to bed and forgotten to put them in the dryer.. #mumlife I read all the awful reviews and decided to roll the dice anyway, but fully expecting it to be a dud. About a dozen loads in, everything from linen to delicates has come out dry, undamaged and looking cleaner than ever. I will say this.. read the manual.. take 15 mins and learn how to use it. Sort your clothes and adjust the settings where necessary. This machine has a lot of adjustable settings and options, but when used correctly, it works like a dream. If you want to stuff everything in and just roll the dice on a preset, then don’t be surprised if it doesn’t come out the way you wanted. Size is ample (12/8kg). I can wash a king doona cover, sheet and pillow cases in one go, no issue, could probably fit a bit more.. comes out perfectly dry. Cycle took about 4hrs.. sounds like a long time but that’s not much longer than it was taking in my old machines and I didn’t have to touch it. Normal size load of clothes, tshirts, kids clothes etc takes about 3hrs to wash and dry. I mostly dry clothes on the delicates setting, so it takes a bit longer, but nothing has shrunk. For the most part I barely hear it running. There’s a bit of vibration when it’s spinning hard or if the load is unbalanced and flopping about, but still much quieter than my old machines. I haven’t used all the functions like the refresh or quick wash, and the app is a bit of a gimmick, but the remote start is handy for having your washing ready when you walk in the door. Early days, so fingers crossed I don’t have to walk this back in 12 months time.. but so far, I’m very, very happy with it.
