Hi all has anyone else had bugs inbetween the pictures and outter glass of their lg tv. I have been back to place of purchase who have said it’s not covered in product care that it’s a warranty issue and they emailed lg pics of bugs in tv. To which lg have responded by saying it’s an act of god and an environment issue not covered as a warranty issue. How can that be if it was built properly the bugs shouldn’t be able to get in. I have other tvs and computer monitor none of which are effected by bugs. Has anyone else had this problem and has lg come to the party and rectified? Tia

Bugs as in insects? No issues with insects thankfully. You could approach under ACL.

Yes tiny black insects. I will be pushing to have it rectified as I believe a $2000 tv should be built well enough to not have this issue. I’m going to quote ACL as it is not fit for its intended purpose. I have screenshots of reviews where other people have had the same issue.

I wanted to buy a new TV to replace my 10 year old 51 inch 1080p 3d samsung Tv. My only criteria was i wanted a gaming Tv that it must be fully compatible with the soon to be released ps5 so i can experience the much improved picture and sound that the new generation of console s can produce on their absolute highest settings with any compromises. I researched what settings a new generation TV needs to have to be compatible with upcoming console releases. So i went to Harvey Norman and told them i need a Tv for gaming, im not into watching movie s it absolutely essential it has these settings-- 120 hz refresh rate... HDMI 2.1 8K... HDR... Low latency game mode. The salesman, he informed me that he too was a gamer and knew exacty the right tv i needed. He sold me a LG 75UN8100PT8. Ive had this tv for six month but only now was able to perchance a PS5. I have tryed and tryed for hours on end multiple setup s with what should be a simple setp procedure with no success at all. The problem im having is that i cant get it to output the full 120 4k picture. From PS5. I get your TV doesn't support 120 hz or VRR ( which salesman said I don't have to worry about 120 Hz because it has variable refresh rate). I also get message : due to the HDMI 2.0 transfer speed's limitations 4k HDR at 60 hz colour format will not be RGB instead YUV422 OR 420 can only be displayed.. I have tryed multiple 2.1 8k hdmi cables. So im now seriously concerned that ive been just totally ripped off and the reason i can't get the setup correct is because the Tv just doesn't support these settings. Im sorry about the long winded explanation. my question is does LG L75UN8100PTB smart TV have Hdmi 2.1? Does this Tv have 120 hz or any high frame rate mode? Thanks in advance for your help

Has several hdmi ports not sure about 2.1 either way I recommend you not buy one of these TV's. Processor is way too slow takes ages to load anything and does not like live streaming.

I have a 75" UN8100 4k UHD Smart TV. I am very impressed by the quality of this TV. I do have a couple of issues regarding casting to the TV or getting the app on the TV. This is about casting Binge (australia) TV or downloading the app on LG Content Store. Can someone help me please?

Just bought and had our LG 75UN8100PTB tv delivered today. Set it up and super happy with it. Great tv. Great price. Great value for your dollars spent. Problem... I could not find how it can be wall mounted. It came with a wall anchor cable to prevent from tipping over when on its stand on your tv bench. Only I want it wall mounted, and for the life of me I cannot find how this 75” tv can be actually wall mounted. Does anyone know how it’s done or a kit I can buy? Why doesn’t LG make it known it cannot be wall mounted. The salesman at JB HiFi told us it definitely can be wall mounted, we asked that specific question as we were concerned about the weight of the tv and the possibility of hanging it on our concrete wall. Anyone who can give me an answer or insight I appreciate greatly... thanks, Shannon

This LG TV can definitely be wall mounted but the wall-mount itself is not included with the TV. You can buy a compatible wall mount and book the wall mounting service at JB hi-fi and even discuss whether the installers can directly supply a compatible wall-mount (I believe they can). JB hi-fi works through a third party contractor for wall mounting servies who are a tad bit expensive but they are good at what they do. Also you feel safer if anything goes wrong because the service is directly through JB hi-fi and not some gumtree/air-tasker guy. The JB hi-fi installers also offer paid add-ons as well for e.g. cable hiding. There are different types of wall mounts so research is key. If this was dry-wall/wooden structure I would have suggested to make sure that the installer hits atleast 2 wall studs/4 screws or more and checks that the mount is firmly installed before putting the TV on it. I haven't had any experience with mounting a heavy TV on concrete walls but JB hi-fi should be able to get a clarification/confirmation for you directly from the installers before booking you in.

I thought everyone knew that Wall Mounted TV’s - you have to buy the Brackets separately. They are large & made of Metal. My Wall Mount cost $220 - problem with Wall Mounted impossible to get to back of Screen, if you need to add any Devices. TV had to be lifted off the Wall or Tilted very carefully. For easy access to back of TV a Cabinet is the best. We live & learn….

Is this really a 120hz panel like my Xbox says it is? Or is it 60hz and uses interpolation of frames to fake 100hz?

Richard

Wouldn't have a clue, all I know is I won't be buying another LG.

Shane C.

Yes it is 120hz. Needs a 2.1HDMI cable to run it.

Stephen

Turns out it's only 120hz at 1080P and not 4k with or without a 2.1 HDMI cable.

There are 2 HDMI 2.1 ports that support 4k 120hz on new Xbox series x if it in an older console or a before 20series nvidea graphics card it won't do 4k 120

1. Does it allow streaming from Amazon Prime? Have previous LG where proprietary software cannot. What about other common streaming services including iView, Stan and new Disney+. 2. Can you plug in and play movies from a USB 2.0 or 3.0? Thanks for posting the review.

Shane C.
Shane C.

As fare as I no it’s still only USB 2.0 only OLED have the 3.0 ?. Netflix, Stan , Disney are all good. The main purpose of this huge tv was for just 4K movies from the Xbox x , not main stream media tv rubbish, And 4K gaming . YouTube runs great, with 4K HDR demos, with a little settings Done to it . The picture quality is not outstandingly awesome. But it’s good enough to be happy with . For $3600 you could probably buy a very good 75inch nano cell91 super UHD 2019 stock at the moment ? Possibly even 55 or 65 OLED ?
