LG WD12020D

I was happy with the machine, but then – I was very happy with the machine although it would walk at the 1200 spin speed. But was fine if selecting the 800. The fact that it was discontinued and I cannot get a main PCB board now means I have to throw it out, to me is lousy customer support. A 10 year warranty on the drum only to be let down by an electronic board??? Has it… Read more
programmed obsolescence? I will not replace it with another LG for that reason. Disappointed and financially disadvantaged!
Don’t buy it – Even when I select the No crease option & the lower spin speeds the clothes come out really wrinkled. I have purchased a Laura Star steam iron & still struggle to remove the wrinkles. Wash & wear items have to be ironed with lots of steam too. Not a good machine for people like me who have OCD about wrinkles in your clothes. Otherwise ok.
Discontinued for a reason no doubt – This machine came with a label saying it had a 10 year warranty. It has only lasted 4 years. LG customer service is so poor they offer no assistance at all. Located off shore in Manilla. They pass you from one person to the next and conveniently loose your call if you want to speak to a Manager (who have no authority to help whatsoever). LG… Read more
should be building machines that last and they should provide economical parts and repairs. They don't do this at all and expect you go buy a new machine. WHATEVER you do DO NOT invest in this company.
WD1202D – Bought new in 2014. Does general washes OK and very good with water consumption. And it is very gentle on clothes compared to other machines. But it is quite noisy, and vibrates very badly. Seems to easily go out of balance, particularly with towels etc and we are always relevelling it. Have it sitting on rubber pads now and it’s a bit better. The… Read more
normal wash takes far too long. There are other wash options, but at the cost of not washing quite as well. It’s good just for day to day clothes, but if you have a tradie in the house, not so good on cleaning grease/oil etc. Had 2 problems so far. The main pump failed after 3 years - wasn’t an expensive fix but hard to get to. And the door latches break and a regular basis. These are easily replaced and aren’t too expensive. But as with our last front loader, the front latch broke and none could be bought anymore, so hopefully this doesn’t happen with this machine. It’s OK, but would not buy another LG. Would look for another brand.
Beautiful, quiet machine. Very happy!! – Washes well in hot and cold water. Very quiet operating and doesn't go into orbit when spinning! Love the Intensive 60 program - its just that. Warm and fast, and very thorough. Also got a LG fridge/Freezer at the same time as I have grown to love the LG brand. Show details
Worse front loader ever!!! – We had this machine for 3.5 years.. It sat on a concrete slab in a European laundry, and it doesn't matter what i tried over the last year, it vibrated so loud and moved straight out off the laundry cupboard at speed. The whole machine would come out of the cupboard. We could not leave the house with the machine on with the fear of what would… Read more
happen.
To make matters worse, it did not clean very well, and the cold setting was actually warm.
I just purchased a German Made Siemens, to my delight i have watched it numerous times at full spin with small loads and large loads of clothes.....not move one cm and whisper quite, while cleaning the clothes well.
Don't buy a LG washing machine!!!!
Great Machine – Solid machine that has worked well for our family of 5. The quick wash is very good at about 35mins. The normal wash is a little long though we don't use it often. Spin cycles are excellent. Not too loud when it operates. Keep the door open when not in use to avoid mould. This is the first front loader we have had and that seemed to work as per the comments from others. Great machine.
Still going great – We have owned the WD 12020D since September 2013 and I have nothing but high praise for the machine. I have read from other reviews disappointment from the rinse etc. I usually load small and do more loads. It seems with front loaders the rule might be to put smaller loads in than the minimum required. The washes are great, rinses perfect. … Read more
You do have to make sure it is on a flat surface, I just use the 800rpm spin, works great and makes less vibration than the 1200 rpm spin. Love my machine! Cleans great, reliable, great functions.
Guess who replaced there whirlpool – After getting rid of the whirlpool after 2 brake downs and a whole bunch of cursing. I got the lg, yes I had douts about the reliability of the lg however price, warranty and the direct drive won me over. I've had it for over a year now and I have not had any problems with it yet. It does the job very well and the 30min wash is a great result.… Read more · 1
It can be noisy while on high spin but overall I'm happy with it.
My wife hates the chime signalling the end of the wash, however I find it very helpful. 30 min quick wash, warranty fairly loud
Absolute rubbish – Constantly unbalancing when doing towels or bed sheets. Regardless if washing a few items or a full load. Once unbalanced it a nightmare to force it to open and restart where it left off. Right now it's unbalanced with 11 minutes still to go even after I balanced it out 45 mins ago and back then it still said 11 minutes to go. After 2 years of use… Read more
I have to say it's an absolute piece of rubbish and my old Electrolux was far superior. Don't buy this! It's a piece of junk. LG have spent more time in programming it's stupid on and off tunes then they have building a quality product. It's makes a nice white boat anchor Constantly unbalancing itself with towels and bed sheets. Expensive
