I was happy with the machine, but then – I was very happy with the machine although it would walk at the 1200 spin speed. But was fine if selecting the 800. The fact that it was discontinued and I cannot get a main PCB board now means I have to throw it out, to me is lousy customer support. A 10 year warranty on the drum only to be let down by an electronic board??? Has it… Read more
programmed obsolescence? I will not replace it with another LG for that reason. Disappointed and financially disadvantaged!
Hate this machine have tried everything to stop it from moving vibrating across the floor – Washes fine but come the spin cycle just does it’s thing have grip rubber tried to wood blocks everything it ends up up against my sliding door and can’t open door very frustrating having to move it back into place every wash Show details
Great long-lasting service – We bought the WD11020D back in 2011, it served us with great satisfaction for 11 years. We are using it 3-4 times a week so it had many operation hours during its lifetime. Over time, only the spinning noise has become just a tick louder; apart from that, it has been a great machine. After 11 years there has been no single issue and is still… Read more
going, but lately comes up with a PF error which indicates Power Failure. If wasn't discontinued we would have bought the same.

Moves too much – A picture tells the story. Don't know how to keep my washing machine in its corner. Washes brilliantly though. Dances without music and despite numerous attempts at levelling it doesn't stop. Does it mostly with towels but then with everything after its out of balance. Show details
Vibrates and moves along floor – Have tried levelling it. Used anti vibration pads and my last attempt to stop it moving was a large sponge mat, nothing works. Has crack my tiles and loosened grout.

WD1202D – Bought new in 2014. Does general washes OK and very good with water consumption. And it is very gentle on clothes compared to other machines. But it is quite noisy, and vibrates very badly. Seems to easily go out of balance, particularly with towels etc and we are always relevelling it. Have it sitting on rubber pads now and it’s a bit better. The… Read more
normal wash takes far too long. There are other wash options, but at the cost of not washing quite as well. It’s good just for day to day clothes, but if you have a tradie in the house, not so good on cleaning grease/oil etc. Had 2 problems so far. The main pump failed after 3 years - wasn’t an expensive fix but hard to get to. And the door latches break and a regular basis. These are easily replaced and aren’t too expensive. But as with our last front loader, the front latch broke and none could be bought anymore, so hopefully this doesn’t happen with this machine. It’s OK, but would not buy another LG. Would look for another brand.
Great washing machine – Bought new in late 2009 and its still going strong now in late 2017. Never had a single problem with it. I'm very impressed LG and will be buying another when it finally bites the dust. Due to poor planning on my part It has been outside for the past 5 years in full sun and covered in all sort of crap and it still hasn't missed a beat! The 13… Read more
in the model number means its spins at 1300 RPM which seems to work well; the clothes are not very wet when they come out and drying time is short.
Its not perfect of course; as noted elsewhere it does water hammer when filling up, not every-time but enough that it is a characteristic. The main cycles are very slow. Over an hour. For my lifestyle it isn't an issue at all but could be annoying for others. There is always the 30 min cycle if you are in a hurry. The thing stops constantly with UE (unbalanced) flashing when I wash doonas and quilts unless it is very full which I suppose most machines will. To be fair it does take a lot to stop it when unbalanced and it will walk around crazily unless I hold or sit on it when on fast spin.
TL;DR; Very happy, will buy LG again
Best washing machine we've had – We got this from Harvey Norman as a replacement for a Bosch machine which completely died within 6 months of purchase. The LG has proven to be a brilliant machine. It is very gentle on the clothes & gives brilliant results. It cops a lot of use, averaging about 4 loads a day, 7 days a week for nearly 5 years now. So it has definitely been… Read more
reliable. Mind you, we are quite fussy about looking after our things & appliances are no exception, so the seal is cleaned regularly & also the filter/strainer/trap thing at the front.
The electronic controls are fairly simple & intuitive & have been very reliable with no glitches or errors to speak of (unlike our experience with a Fisher & Paykel electronic washer which rarely got through a load without an error!).
The only issues we have is that some washing powders don't get completely dissolved & a lot of gunk can gather at the bottom of the door seal if it's not cleaned regularly.
The direct drive system seems to work very well & is quiet & smooth. There is a 10 year warranty on the direct drive system which certainly gives some piece of mind.
Overall, this is the best washing machine we've had & I would happily buy another LG machine, especially a direct drive.
Positive reviews
excellent. on a whim it occasionally dances out the door, so far we've caught it just in time – Better than otherbrands that cost 3 & 4 times as much. Only issue is sometimes bouncing & dancing on fastest spin. I usually use 2nd highest spin anyway so not a big issue for me. Show details · 1
These Cycles are Perfect! – This was my second LG WD series purchase. It washes clothes really well... better than most, but I just love the cycle options in this series of front loader washers. In particular, its many relatable cycle options, the fact that you can opt for a pre-rinse, you can set your preferred temperature to most cycles and you can also set the spin… Read more
intensity, but mostly because it has a separate spin cycle.
I’ve shopped around for years trying to find a front loader with this option and haven’t found many at all. I genuinely cannot live without it, it’s very handy at times and it’s quiet and uncomplicated.
Yes, it does crawl around a bit on the spin cycle (which needed a decent, but inexpensive rubber matt beneath it) but the pro’s of this little unit far outweighs the matt needed to keep it grounded.
I highly recommend this LG unit.
Excellent machine , no trouble in nearly 10 years – This model has handled everything from overalls, doonas etc down to very delicate (wash bagged) items for nine years without missing a beat. There are three adults that use it, one of whom also washes four grandchildren's clothes, floor runners and dog jackets. It is used almost every day and hasn't missed a beat except for a clogged filter now… Read more
and then. It does tend to dance across the surface it's on but I fixed that by mounting heavy plastic tubing around a stainless steel wire and wrapping it round the two rear feet and anchoring to the floor. There is about 50 mils of play and that's fine. My next machine is going to be the same or similar.
Negative reviews
Don’t buy it – Even when I select the No crease option & the lower spin speeds the clothes come out really wrinkled. I have purchased a Laura Star steam iron & still struggle to remove the wrinkles. Wash & wear items have to be ironed with lots of steam too. Not a good machine for people like me who have OCD about wrinkles in your clothes. Otherwise ok.

Discontinued for a reason no doubt – This machine came with a label saying it had a 10 year warranty. It has only lasted 4 years. LG customer service is so poor they offer no assistance at all. Located off shore in Manilla. They pass you from one person to the next and conveniently loose your call if you want to speak to a Manager (who have no authority to help whatsoever). LG… Read more
should be building machines that last and they should provide economical parts and repairs. They don't do this at all and expect you go buy a new machine. WHATEVER you do DO NOT invest in this company.

Works OK but why does the door stay locked for so long? – When it finished the wash cycle, it plays the (sily) tune, but the door doesn't unlock for around 10 minutes. Just long enough for you to often forget the cycle had finished, so you forget to empty it! This must be in the programming? LG denied it does this and that was that. Show details
Great washing machine – Good quality washing machine •great range of cycles and options •tub clean program •inverter direct drive motor •load detection adjusts wash time and water level • hot and cold water inlets •built in water heater •dirty clothes come out spotless washes very well Read some other reviews of this particular model and like others have… Read more
mentioned The problem with this machine is it likes to walk and jump around on the spin cycle but leveling the feet on the bottom correctly is very very important this machine has to be perfectly leveled because if it’s not even if it’s 1mm out it will jump around the laundry on a spin cycle.
But overall this is a great washing machine.
Still going after 9 years of service – This machine does a good job at washing and is still going strong after 9 years except for the startup and finish chimes. The only issue with this machine is that it’s noisy, vibrate the house while on spin cycle and to stop it from walking across the laundry we had to use non-slip stair tread (self adhesive coarse sandpaper) under the feet, Show details
Brilliant wouldn’t hesitate buying another – This is a fantastic washer never misses a beat, it’s on it’s 6th nearly 7th year and still as good as the day we got it. We won’t hesitate in getting another LG washer when we eventually upgrade and I’m expecting to be able still sell this for something especially with the 10 year direct drive warranty. Show details
I purchased this in 2010 and its still going strong – The best washing machine I have ever owned. I am trying to think of one thing I don't like about this washing machine and possibly a little too noisy. In saying that I wouldn't hesitate purchasing the newer model. It gets so much use, and never fails us. Occasionally something will get stuck in the filter but its easy enough to get it out. Show details
Shakes the house down – Have run out of patience with this thing - have had it for many years, and whilst it washes well, & is economical with water, you can only spin it on low speed lest it walk out the room & down the path. Seriously - it walked across the laundry door & I had to break-in thru the window!! Bizarre. And you cannot even open the washer door to… Read more
re-distribute the load once it is apparent that it's horrendously out of balance.
A load of towels shakes the whole house.
I can't think of anyway to resolve the problem - LG couldn't advise anything, they just offered to send a serviceman......like he's gonna help me.
Trustful LG as expected – Works good as we are big family and not all wash clothes together due to hygiene and also lot many clothes. Selected this considering everyone washes separate or me and my partner in same wash at most works good and also less power and water consumption than our previous top loader machine. Show details
Doesn't clean as good anymore and we are a retired couple which we do not have heavy soiled clothes – Have had this machine since 2011 now its doing what everybody else is complaining about...walks across the floor and it doesn't matter what you are washing and also has become very noisy, it seems all this happens straight after extended warranty. I dont thi k anything is built to last over five years. Show details

Great value for money machine – Clothes always come out smelling clean and dirt-free, even on heavily soiled items. It has a variety of settings for different types of loads, but I usually stick to the 60-min cycle which seems to clean most medium sized loads well. It is relatively quiet - my machine sits inside my bathroom & can't be heard from outside if the door is closed. Show details
Was good, now can't wait to ditch it – Have had this machine for about 5-6 yrs I guess, was good to start with and didn't roam when spinning but now it shakes so much I thought it was moving out yesterday. It is also very loud now which is annoying as we are family of 5 and very sporty so I need to be able to put a load through at night but it keeps the kids awake. Bits of random… Read more
rubber have started appearing at the end of the load and it's not from the door seal. I think one of my shirts got 'pinched' somehow & I know it wasn't in the door but it is now a rag due to a big tear in the right shoulder. I am not sure what to buy next, it has turned me off front loaders but top loaders seem to use so much more water and don't clean as well. Would appreciate any comments/suggestions from people who have gone from FL to TL.
Much more reliable than the previous Bosch – Does everything well, It's quiet, it washes well and it doesn't seem to unduly wear out the washing as tall. It's fairly quiet and love the 30 minute wash option. I wouldn't look at another brand in a hurry. Had this for over 5 years now and it just keeps on going. Our previous machine (Bosch 800 Maxx if I remember rightly) needed a new pump at… Read more
about the 2-3 year mark and new suspension when we replaced it.
Sometimes get a door not closed error but not if that is our fault or the catch/switch wearing. A little push and it is on it's way. That's the only issue we've ever had and that doesn't happen if we remember to firmly close the door.
Best ever – This is the best washing machine ever. It is quiet and washes clothes perfect and I love the quick wash feature too. I have had this machine for over 5 years now and it's faultless in every way. I wouldn't hesitate in buying another LG washing machine for sure. Another real good thing about it is the amount of water saved each wash. Show details
Disappointed with life span – A major part of the machine needed fixing and replacing after only 5 years. The drain pump motor needed replacing and was not covered under warranty. We have only three people in the house, so we didn't have to wash every day. Very disappointed with inconvenience, longevity and cost of $257. Show details
This machine actually stinks – Good for the first year, then it started walking around, was over adjusting the feet all the time. Then purchased the laundry cabinet for it to stand on (having trouble bending down to place clothes in) also thinking this would help the machine from walking around....Big mistake....don't bother. Hence we then took it off the cabinet. Now we are… Read more
getting foul smells from the machine, so after every wash, we now have to empty the residue of water that doesn't get pumped out. Also, have to pull out soap dispenser between washes as this goes mouldy. Thought we were purchasing quality not crap....after reading all these reviews it's certainly not helping LG.....maybe LG should read them and do something because we have bagged this machine big time to all our friends.
Not happy, too noisy – Disappointed with this machine. Washing comes out creased, does not smell fresh and the towels dry rock hard . Purchased this machine as it uses less water but it is not worth it. The last few months the spin cycle has gotten so noisy I can hear it from the driveway! After reading other reviews I think I may reconsider calling for a service as it appears they are not too helpful either. May as well put the money towards a new machine. Show details
Piece of JUNK!!!!!!!! – Don't worry about the marvelous 10 year warranty on the you beaut direct drive motor, cos this machine ain't gonna be around for anywhere near 10 years!!! get in through the window to move it back. The whole house vibrates every time i do a load, the dog runs outside terrified, glasses and crockery rattle against each other, the noise drowns out the sound of the tv. Apart from that i guess it eventually does wash the clothes.
Horrendous machine. Moves all over the place – Horrible, horrible machine. I've had it for 5-years in two houses, just cannot get it to sit still. Vibrates so much I swear it's putting cracks in my walls. Another overpriced and horrible product from the "geniuses" at Lucky Goldstar. We will be dumping this out on eBay now, over it. Constantly adjusting the feet, tried dampeners, nothing works. Show details
Beautiful, quiet machine. Very happy!! – Washes well in hot and cold water. Very quiet operating and doesn't go into orbit when spinning! Love the Intensive 60 program - its just that. Warm and fast, and very thorough. Also got a LG fridge/Freezer at the same time as I have grown to love the LG brand. Show details
Worse front loader ever!!! – We had this machine for 3.5 years.. It sat on a concrete slab in a European laundry, and it doesn't matter what i tried over the last year, it vibrated so loud and moved straight out off the laundry cupboard at speed. The whole machine would come out of the cupboard. We could not leave the house with the machine on with the fear of what would… Read more

To make matters worse, it did not clean very well, and the cold setting was actually warm.
I just purchased a German Made Siemens, to my delight i have watched it numerous times at full spin with small loads and large loads of clothes.....not move one cm and whisper quite, while cleaning the clothes well.
Don't buy a LG washing machine!!!!
This machine jumps all over the laundry until it pulls the cord out – This machine jumps all over the laundry until it pulls the plug out of the power point, re levelled about every or four weeks has worn through the rubber feet to the metal, service man re levelled it and said it was ok two weeks later walking again pulled out power cord, in the inner drum in not running true when spinning the drum wobbles, even… Read more
when totally empty of clothes, the service man this was normal, nothing at all inside, the service man said this was normal, I went LG there comment was we cannot tell you any thing regarding diagnostic error codes company policy.
This machine has been a 5year nightmare.
$150.00 later for parts 3 dampers and new feet plus service call $200.00= $350.00, later and it is still the same
Walking, jammed 2 towels down each side of the washer, still wanders across the floor, not happy faulty washer.
troubles, plus, plus!! – Vibrates all over the place.. Moisture got down into the wiring which is at the top right front of machine, we removed the top and put tape all around to seal, plus a sheet of plastic over the top to protect.
