Don't buy will damage your clothes, LG doesn't take any responsibility – Don't get this machine. Got it on Monday 9 October 23 and already regret it. Have been in contact with LG several times, I'd like to return it due to horrible performance, LG contacted me and offered a technician which I have to pay. Harvey Norman didn't want to deal with it either. Washed in different modes as per instruction manual, Washing… Read more
machine has caused sleeves and collars to stretch, even lengthen garments and multiple clothes are now baggy. This machine is stretching and damaging our clothing. Poor performance. Loved LG and have different products from them with no issues and I wished I stayed with my front loader and not investing over $1000 for it. LG and Harvey Norman should discontinue this product. This washer has caused me nothing but frustration and inconvenience since I purchased it. Major disappointment with the product and how my complaint has been handled, I didn't get anything. I will stay away from buying any LG products in the future. Bad customer service. In the pictures evidence of the poor quality of the washing machine and how has damaged lots of clothes.
This is an unuseable machine .. Not fit for the purpose for which it was sold – This machine plasters everything in lint, and or soap residue. No matter how it is used or what soap is used. The machine has never had fabric softener in it either, and It has done this since new and no amount of "Tub cleaning fixes the problem " We have been in contact with LG countless times. This machine has ruined 100s of $ worth of clothes… Read more
in the 6 months since we purchased it. My wife is too the point she is using the laundry matt instead and hand washing her expensive clothes. There is no filtration system on the machine to trap debris of any sort .. Final drain strains all the dirty water through your clothes , what ever items are on top get covered the gunk floating on top of the water. Below is a pic of a brand new pair of jeans after going through this machine :( They were originally one colour grey .. they are not stone washed style .
Poor quality & appalling customer service – Purchased this machine brand new ($1200), clothes and sheets come out of washing machine with oil stains. LG told me its because the machine has scrud build up which needs to be cleaned which is hard to believe when the issue has been going on for over 2 years and the machine is less than 4 years old. Fabric Softener has never been used and the… Read more
machine is not overloaded. The machines cleaning cycle takes 8 hours which is done monthly and makes no difference. LG customer service is appalling, was told to pay a technician to service the machine ($150 call out fee, $35 per 15 minutes), there is nothing they can do. After expressing how disappointing it is that a "high end" brand isn't able to help more, the phone operator responded with "we are sorry leave a review, thanks for calling and hung up". The machine has also never been able to be connected to WiFI which in turns means we haven't been able to use ThinQ features. Cheaper to sell the machine than replace all our stained clothes and pay a technician. Do not recommend the LG 10kg Top Loader washing machine or LG's customer service and after care.
I always read the reviews but didn’t when buying this unfortunately. It’s such a terrible machine :( – Terrible terrible machine. It’s like no practical thought went into its design. I always read the reviews but didn’t when buying this machine. The salesman gave lg great reviews. It is truly a terrible machine. And such poor design. Brand new and it knocks and bangs side to side trying to balance itself then just pumps and pumps if it can’t… Read more
spin it then fills up repeatedly with water and starts process again if it can’t spin. It’s so painful to watch it wash. It’s like an old 10 year old machine banging around inside tub. Cannot believe this is an acceptable standard and hasn’t been pulled off the market. Also, if you notice the spin is not working and try to move the clothes around to assist the nachune you have to lean over the touch screen panel which usually changes setting by leaning into the deep tub so you loose the program you picked. I was told it had a quick wash but found out when getting it home that it only will quick wash 1/4 load, otherwise there is no quick wash function which is basically all I ever used on my last machine. It’s like minimum of 1.5 hours to do a standard wash. It has such a weak wash too. Also the lid locks soon as it starts and you have to wait too long for it to unlock to add more clothes. It won’t start also until the lid is down. So you cant be filling the tub up with water while the lid is up and it has to be locked to start any cycle. I got it 6 days ago and after spending nearly $1000 I’m so disappointed and want to return it but how is that even possible? Such a big investment for the next ten years to be frustrated daily. Oh and also I cannot reach into the bottom of the machine. I’m not short either but need a step to get washing out! So fearful what it will do to my power and water bill.
TAKES WAY TOO LONG TO WASH – I bought this machine as i have previously had a LG and was very pleased with it. This machine has been a total waste of money. It takes way too long to wash your clothes. 1.45 hours to do a full wash of clothes !!! Please do not but this product, unless you want to waste water and electricity. So disappointed. Show details

Stay Clear of This Machine, i wish i would have found these reviews before we spent our money – Our machine does exactly the same as mentioned by others, jumps all over the place , went through the gyprock wall we had to repair.Just did towels, took nearly 2 hours, we did the "Tub Rinse" nearly 10 hours. My water bill has gone through the roof. I am at a loss as to how this machine is still on the market. Do not let small children near this… Read more
machine "please" they could be crushed, between the machine and a wall . We are over the failures of its washing "technique" , crushed clothes , dry patches on washing that have had no water on them at all. WARNING . Make sure you stand with this machine during all cycles regardless of the time it takes, this machine is 'DANGEROUS" How can such a product be let loose on the public, LG are well aware of this horendous thing and yet i walked into a store yesterday and they are still for sale My God !! , SHAME LG .

Disappointed – I was very excited to buy this machine. A much bigger tub than our last machine with a good efficiency and water rating from the manufacturer. I was excited to be washing larger loads than my old 7.5kg. Since purchasing this machine 2 months ago I have had nothing but problems. The machine will bang and crash during the cycle regardless of the… Read more
size of the load. So i called LG and had a really helpful tech come out and explain to me the machine wasn't faulty, i just wasn't using the machine 'properly'. Which was helpful, however basically you cannot use this machine like an automatic machine. You have to adjust the water level higher every load and monitor the machine during each load with 'human intervention'. So basically you will use MUCH more water and time in order for the machine to be stable and effective. In 2020 this just isn't good enough. We invested a fair sum of money into this machine on the principal it has an automatic water sensing level function. This means that i'm no longer able to time delay the machine as i have to be home to ensure the water level is high enough.

Worst machine ever – ***Do not purchase this machine!!*** We Bought this machine less than 12 months ago, have had issues with it since day 1!!! It takes FOREVER to fill with water, yet my water pressure is excellent, and constantly becomes unbalanced and beeps, constantly throws up error codes. Called up customer service and point blank get told to refer to the… Read more
manual...Am really really disappointed with LG and their lack of customer care, this was NOT a cheap machine, as we purchased from Betta Electrical in Cobram. Am a pensioner and live in a small rural town so having a machine that works is a necessity. Would like this issue fixed please.

Not many good features – EDIT: AUGUST 2020 (2 years after purchase) I have so much buyers remorse over this washing machine. About 6 months after we bought it I noticed our clothes started smelling musty. We have tried everything to get rid of the smell - tub clean, epsom salts, washing machine cleaner, even dishwasher tablets (which LG support suggested). Nothing gets… Read more
rid of the smell.
It started when I decided to wash in cold water regularly to save energy, and the difference to our power bill was really noticeable. BUT! the only way to reduce the musty smell to an almost-acceptable level is to always wash in warm or hot water. But this machine is so huge and power hungry, and uses so much water, our electricity bill is phenomenal.
And finally, just before the 2 year warranty runs out (thank goodness) the user panel across the front with the buttons has started flickering intermittently. I spoke to LG support about it 2 weeks ago and they gave the usual "If it's working fine when the technician gets there it will cost you $180". I had to send them a video to show them it's most definitely broken & they told me it "seems like a parts issue". So I am still waiting for the technician to schedule a visit time.

ORIGINAL REVIEW FROM AUGUST 2018
This machine is absolutely cavernous when you open the lid. I can fit 2 full sets of bed sheets in there for a wash which is wonderful after our last 7.5kg washing machine, the only issue is that it takes 2.5 hours to wash them and they come out so crushed that I literally have to iron them after line-drying them to have them look acceptable on the bed. The 'Air Spin' feature that is the standard spin cycle on the standard cotton wash spins the contents of the machine for about 45 minutes, wasting energy and squishing them into an obliviated mess around the edge of the machine, and you CAN'T CHANGE THE SPIN cycle on the standard wash. It's destroy or nothing.
I've discovered that the only way to get a wash cycle that doesn't take too much time is to select 'quick wash' and change every settings. Water level, wash cycles, rinse cycles and spin. BUT! You can only use the lower 2 spin cycles on this setting, which are also abysmal, so I have to set the load on a separate spin cycle, that isn't 'still waterlogged' or 'absolutely destroy' when it's done. Strike 1.
The control panel along the front of the machine is extensive and somewhat confusing. There seems to be a lot of options, however when you actually get down to it there's really very little choice. Most built-in washing cycles aren't suitable for use as they either take too long or don't even cover the clothes in water, and they don't allow you to change much, so overall there's lots of buttons with little use.
They also changed the panel compared to previous models. Instead of being a push-down feel, it's a 'touch' sensor, except the sensor is pretty abysmal. I end up pressing the same button many times before it registers, which is frustrating, but the most annoying thing is that because this machine is so big, you have to lean on the instrument panel to reach the bottom of the machine to redistribute clothes when it's off balance (which happens often), which means you end up pressing random buttons with your chest and resetting a wash cycle half way though. It's a really bad design feature to put touch-sensor controls along the part that you lean on to get into the machine. Strike 2.
The last issue is the lint filter. It's not removable like previous LG washers. I've googled and looked at the instructions and it seems the only way to remove SOME of the lint is to take the drain plug out of the BACK of it. It's a humungous 10kg washing machine and they expect it to be MOVED every time you want to clean the lint filter...? Again, not real smart. Strike 3.
Overall this machine has been a massive disappointment after owning a 7.5kg LG for 6 years previously and loving it. The only plus I can think of is that it washes the clothes fairly well, but you can get that with many other washing machines without all the headaches listed above.

Worst Washing Machine Ever!!!! – Purchased from Harvey Norman in December, this machine is a major disappointment! Constantly off balance even though the machine has been levelled. The water level is always too low and I am having to constantly adjust this which means I can only wash when I am home to manage it. So much for the time delay start, I’m too scared given the balance… Read more
and water level problems. Tub clean 9 hours and 6 minutes!!!! No wonder my electricity bill has gone through the roof since buying this machine. I bought a 10kg machine to wash blankets and doonas, every time I’ve tried the machine won’t spin them and keeps defaulting back to start washing again! Disgusted that LG are allowed to continue to sell this machine. I’m off to Fair Trading as this is certainly not right! Do not buy this machine!!!
Absolutely regret buying, devastated to say the least! – Purchased in April 2019 and bought concierge good guys extended warranty. Ridiculous water levels constantly need adjusting. I do 3 rinses and still get some lint or something on the clothes! Tub clean is 7hrs! I am devastated. I would like a complete refund so I can actually buy a washing machine that does what it’s supposed to, I would never… Read more
have purchased had I known how terrible it was! I think I’ll be speaking with fair trading as a refund is needed. LG can’t even help me get this stupid WIFI symbol off!
its been long time and working great – having kids we wash cloth very often, i have noticed that total load of wash has been reduced and water consumption is also.. with that ele consumption. its easy programmed and not difficult to use. most difficult is drying this many cloths at a time on cloth-line. ;-) , internet connectivity help a bit too.. pleased – pretty large washing machine, bought it online and wasnt aware of the size. Its pretty good for family laundry and can easily be programmed to adapt to the type of load I havent used the smart features yet Show details
Worst washing machine – We brought this washing machine 12 months ago. The clothes come out with soap on them. The water level has to be manually adjusted. Takes 2 hours a load.Have called LG and where we brought it from and no one rings back. Had a repairman come to look at it. He told us just to keep manually adjusting it and contact the Good Guys. Worst washing machine and services I have ever come across. Still and ongoing issue. Show details

Some concerns – I have some concerns about this machine. I have to stand on a foot stool to reach items at the bottom. It does take a long time to do a load but with a 10 kilo load, I am doing less. My main concern is that the water levels it decides on -they are too small. I have to wait for it to decide how much water to use and then manually increase it, often by a third, to cover the clothes. I cannot set the water level manually. Show details
Loads take way too long – This machine takes way way too long to finish a load. Averagely a wash with 2 rinses will take 1 hour and 30 to 45 minutes. It’s quick wash option only allows for a tub load of setting 4 which might be sufficient enough for a very small amount of clothing. it’s honestly absolutely pathetic. It takes me days to complete my washing, by the time… Read more
I’m done I have 4 loads piled up again.
I also don’t find it cleans the clothes really well, I have 2 young boys and almost everything that comes on their clothes ends up staining. Doesn’t seem to get rid of any type of residue that should be removed easily.
After only 6 months I’m planning on selling it.
On the positive side the machine looks nice, is very quiet and seems to be very sturdy with zero rocking. The 10 kg capacity is awesome. But personally all means nothing when it doesn’t clean good enough and takes forever.
Best top loader – I am so happy with this product purchase. It was built just to fit nicely in the laundry space in my new home. The washes are great. the features are excellent and user friendly. The choices of stings is awesome and I love the water saving option. Energy rating is reasonable. Show details
Great Results – We replaced another new machine that couldn't do the job with this 10kg LG washer. It gets a lot of use at my place. My wife is a chef and gets through large amounts of chef clothes and my son is a tradie and his stuff gets very dirty. This machine copes with everthing with ease. Lots of useful settings and washes well. If you are looking for a larger machine this is a great option. Show details
Impressed so far (early days) – I don't usually write a review this close to a purchase... but hey, I can always edit later LG :) It is quiet, easy to set up, lots of settings but easy to understand even without reading the manual, the layout is logical...meaning it makes sense. No sign of lint, it goes through the cycles without bouncing around the floor. I found the set… Read more
up easy and straight forward. The 4 stars for power and water where the selling point for us on this one, both are rising in cost each year in Australia and the highest you can get (with a low purchase bill) is obviously now a important factor. Brilliant for a really big items. Like I said in another review, LG whitegoods seemed to have picked up their quality, the unit is maid in Thailand, something that normally makes me nervous, but from what I can see from the underside the workmanship of the internals is on par with some of the cheaper EU built units. Time will tell but 5 stars, I'm happy. Inverter motor makes sense for power saving, the smartphone features are actually handy.
Loading capacity – With our machine being a 10KG machine is the supposed loading weight 10kg of dry clothes or wet clothes or full to the brim? Would be good if the machine was manufactured with a built in weight indicator. In an attempt to save electricity the built in start system is great. Show details
