A good product for your laundry
WV5-1208W (8kg)I recently purchased the LG washing machine and I must, it does the job well and I like it for some reasons. First of all, its design is absolutely beautiful and compact, making it a great addition to any laundry room.
One of the standout features of this machine is the wide variety of programs it offers. With so many options to choose from, I can easily find the perfect cycle for any type of fabric or level of dirtiness. And the best part is that it always cleans my clothes thoroughly without any issues.
Another great feature is the ability
... Read more to connect the washing machine to my phone. The user-friendly application allows me to control and monitor the machine remotely, making laundry even more convenient. I particularly love the downloaded cycle feature, which allows me to add any extra program I want to my washing machine. It's like having a custom-made cycle for my specific needs. The steam programs on this machine are truly impressive. They deliver outstanding results, leaving my clothes fresh and wrinkle-free. However, one minor drawback is that the timing for these programs can be a bit unclear. It takes a while for the machine to calculate and display the exact duration, which may require some patience. The only major downside I have encountered with this washing machine is the vibration during the final stages of washing. For about 2-3 minutes, it vibrates quite intensely, which can be quite noticeable, especially if you live in an apartment. Despite following the installation instructions and removing the large screws, the vibration issue remains. Additionally, it's important to note that during the last 6-8 minutes of the washing cycle, it's advisable to avoid using large amounts of water elsewhere in the house, as the machine requires sufficient water to pass through these stages. Otherwise, it gets stuck in those minutes :/. Overall, the LG washing machine is a fantastic investment. Its beautiful design, wide range of programs, and user-friendly features make laundry a breeze. Despite a few minor drawbacks, its excellent cleaning performance and convenient functionalities make it a great addition to any home.Purchased in at The Good Guys for $719.

My most reliable Washing Machine to date!
WV5-1275W (7.5kg)The LG WV5-1275W is super impressive with efficient performance and user-friendly features. So happy I switched to front loader!
WV5-1410W (10kg)Switched from a top loader to front loader. So glad. My clothes no longer wrap around the middle pole. The LG 10kg is huge. Tested the capacity by putting 2 sets of fitted sheets and flat sheets. It can fit very thick blankets. It’s gentler on the clothes. Means less wrinkles.
I put any types of clothes in the washer. You can mix the types and choose that setting.
I’ve used quite a few different settings and always get great results. Easy to open if you forget something
Cycle times are longer than my old machine but I set it at night while I’m sleeping

Washing machine miracle
WV5-1208W (8kg)This washing machine is worth every dollar. I love it. You can add the app to your phone to get notifications about the wash cycle it also has AI so it knows your washing patterns. It has so many different settings. It washes like a dream.
Gives you updates when you need to clean drum or clean the drain part. It is amazing I can't recommend this more.

Love it!
WV5-1275W (7.5kg)Best washing machine I have had so far! Halved my water bills and the quick cycle is amazing, clothes come out clean.

I couldn’t recommend this machine
WV5-1275W (7.5kg)I couldn’t recommend this machine as it cant wash heavy loads easily.
The only way to wash anything less than a small load is to use the cotton cycle
that runs for more than 3 hours ! Yes 3 hours ! Ridiculous and a total waste of energy.
Ok for small loads but its really not fit for purpose as if you need to wash your
household of sheets you need to allow an entire weekend.
Poor design in my opinion, I guess that's why it’s been discontinued.

Service and repair issues.
WV5-1275W (7.5kg)My issue is with getting a front rubber seal replaced. 2 days out from warranty expiring, I have an issue with the seal. LG asks for photos. They claim it’s not a manufacturing fault. So I call their certified service people closest to me. I say I need a new seal. They will only come first for a call out fee to inspect. $140. Then will diagnose the problem and return to install it, charging labour and parts. LG has declined my warranty rights based on a photo. I just need the seal ordered and replaced within the first call out. I’m ok to fo
... Read morergo the warranty but how do I just order a seal and have it replaced? LG you have diagnosed the problem and not honoured warranty due to a photo. LG should organise the service call and repairs. If the issue is determined as damage I will accept that. But I just need a seal replaced.Find out how LG WV5 Series compares to other Front Loading Washing Machines

What an amazing Machine
WV5-1410W (10kg)I have only had the machine for 1 week and I have fallen in love with it. I purchased it to save water and it does I can tell that by the last rinse cycle water that comes out of the machine as I recycle that and put it on my garden. We are on property, so I have always done that now there is less water for the plants but that's ok I was getting to many anyway. My husband has dirty work clothes but the first wash in the new machine they seemed cleaner.im very satisfied with how easy it is to use.Cycle times are a little longer but clothes are coming out brighter.
Making loud click noise during spin cycle
WV5-1208W (8kg)My five month old LG WV5-1208W washing machine started making a loud clicking noise during spin cycle. Machine is level and gone through all the troubleshooting steps LG recommends. Repairer is unsure why the clicking noise is happening. If they aren't able to fix, I will be asking for a replacement or refund.

Multiple major faults including leaking and short circuiting. LG customer service abysmal.
WV5-1409W (9kg)Was working wonderfully until it leaked and flooded our laundry! Damaged the property and short circuited the house. This seems to be a common fault with this model so buyer beware!
The water bill that month was 8 times the usage. LG ran diagnostic on the phone and said pump failed and a tech will come and fix it. Well the technician did not bring the said pump and rather did something else in the 10 short minutes he spent on site and failed to fix the machine. Didn't even check if it's fixed but he had the audacity to deceivingly note in his

Massive disappointment compared to older version of this machine
WV5-1275W (7.5kg)I was really happy with a 12-yo version of this machine. This model looks superficially very similar but only now it's installed and I'm running it do I discover its value to me has been significantly diminished. I'd send it back if I could.
• No intensive option now for Cotton Eco, which was my go-to cycle for dirty workwear
• Intensive Cotton cycle is not getting clothes completely clean as the old machine would have; I'll have to pre-treat
• The Intensive 60 cycle has disappeared - now it's a >3hr cycle to wash a small load of tea towels

Leaking after 3 years
WV5-1408W (8kg)Bought this machine in March 2000 after good service from previous LG Washing Machine. Noticed staining on floor in laundry and started investigating the cause. Found water leak from internal of washing machine. We are a family of 4 so the machine has not seen excessive use in the last 3 years. Of course I'm outside the warranty period and up for a repair bill of a few hundred dollars. I would not expect this to happen even at 3 years old.
Unlikely to buy another LG machine after this experience

Piece of Garbage for $978
WV5-1410W (10kg)Within 3 months of purchase, the washing machine has started making loud grinding sound and the worst to come is their customer service support from Phillipines. Horrible and pathetic product.
The technician will run the test cycle on empty load and will say the washing machine is fine whereas the actual grinding sound comes when it is loaded with clothes. They will only check errors on the display screen during test run and they will run away without any resolution.
Would recommend to buy some other brand which has good after sales support.

Questions & Answers
Has anybody had problems with the inlet valve leaking?
Can I just use cold water with this machine? the specs say: Notes
Requires Hot and Cold Water Connections. Does that mean some programs are hot water only? I find this really confusing. I only want to use cold water and should have that option. I look forward to hearing from someone.
I have connected my LG 1275w washing to hot and cold inlet taps. My hot is heated by gas. Id like to know if the machine uses this hot inlet or takes it purely from the cold supply and heats it. It's really slack that this info isn't made clear or is hard to find. If the machine heats the water can I turn off the hot inlet?
