Liebherr SICN Bottom Mount Series

Issues with SICN 3066 integrated fridge freezer – We bought a SICN3066 fridge freezer in April 2008. The unit sat with the kitchen manufacturer for about 6 months after purchase before it was installed, but we only used the house as a holiday home till we moved in 4 years ago. We have no backup in the local area so my husband took the fridge to Sydney for repairs as it was out of warranty - it… Read more
started to beep and the freezer was loosing temp, then the fridge started to act up as well. The repairers stated that it has a Gas Leak and not repairable. Andico gave us the option of replacement at 30% discount - but as we have twin fridges we are rethinking of replacing the fridge. With reading of the problems I'm in a dilemma .
Given that its 10 years old and still functioning i would say we have had a good experience – Note : Bought and installed as built-in kitchen design in 2008 in Singapore, together with ICBN 3056 Biofresh No Frost fridge and freezer. Performance : A+ - consistently cold for fridge and icemaker and freezer work well. This was once we figured out not to put anything touching the rear of 'weeping' fridge inner back wall, and buying correct… Read more · 1
sized brush to clean the drainage hole there.
Longevity : Excellent as far as innards are concerned but have had to replace gaskets at least once and being a high end name it was expensive. Fridge door no longer self shuts but that's fine given 10 years use.
Likes : Good performance, shallow shelf design worked perfectly for the narrow alcove in apartment kitchen. Prefer this icemaker versus previous fridge which had external icemaker, was always concerned how grubby it became it being on outside, and needing constant cleaning to be hygienic - not to mention too many nooks and crannies to clean for external icemaker.
Dislikes : being a brand name any servicing, repairs and spare parts are i guess to be expected more expensive then average appliance.
An expensive, poor quality product – we have a Liebherr fridge Model 7082. It is a complete lemon. We have had to replace the computer board, compressor and now the internal refrigerant leaks and can't be repaired. Service has been ongoing, expensive & time consuming. Do not consider buying a Liebherr fridge as the customer service is non existent in Adelaide SA! Show details

Not impressed – Well when we built our house 7 years ago we put in 4x Liebherr integrated fridge/freezers. This week I have had two service calls to one of the fridge/freezers. The outcome $300 later is that the fridge capillaries are blocked and basically it has had a "heart attack". Lets just say I had a heart attack too when I was advised that there is… Read more
nothing you can do but purchase a new one and the RRP is $4129. Now my beautiful fridges are not looking quiet so beautiful. Will my 3 currently working fridges suffer the same problem soon? I didn't expect to only get 7 years out of such a expensive fridge. Feeling really ripped off right now. Potential purchases do your research before buying.

Don't expect the premium price to outlast a cheap fridge – I bought 2 Liebherr fridges in 2009 in anticipation of a renovation that was to be done the following year. Initially I had asked Miele (oven, microwave, hob etc) if I could defer delivery - and they were more than happy to - but Liebherr required immediate delivery. The model was the SICBN 3066 which is the fully integrated model with icemaker… Read more
and biofresh and was top of the range and together cost about $9,000.
This of course means the warranty commences immediately whereas Miele's warranty doesn't commence until it is delivered to your home.
Due to delays with Council approvals/buiders etc I didn't put one fridge into operation until 2012 and the other in late 2014 when a 15 year old Fisher & Paykel fridge finally stopped working.
Initially I was thrilled with the product - particularly the biofresh drawers which kept fruit and vegetables better than any other fridge I had ever had. I recommended it to friends and family and as a result others also purchased this fridge. Overall the fridge is very quiet except when you have the superchill function on.
For the first 2 years of operations, they were faultless, keeping the temperatures at exactly 3C and -18C.
However, in the past year the one which had been in operation for 4 years started to vary its freezer temperature occasionally. The temperature oscillated - but everything remained frozen according to a manual thermometer I used in the freezer compartment. Suddenly on ANZAC day 2017, the fridge which had been operating for only 2 years started to beep in the middle of the night as the freezer had raised to -8. By morning, it seemed all ok again. Unfortunately this week the freezer has stopped cooling completely but the fridge remained at 3C.
I turned the fridge off for 24 hours as many on the net indicate that ice can build up on Liebherr and affect performance. Unfortunately when I turned it back on, although the compressor seems to run, there is no change in temperature at all.
Having made the original purchase in 2009, the fridges are out of warranty even though I have only operated them for less than 5 years each. So I have tried to call a couple of electricians - but as yet haven't found one interested once I say it is a Liebherr.
I am disappointed with the length of service I received from this product - while I bought it 8 years ago, they have only been in 3 and 5 years - and I expected these premium priced fridges to last longer than they have. In fact I would have expected them to last at least 8 years anyway considering a cheap F&P had lasted 15 years.
I am also annoyed that I had recommended them to others who have now bought them. I have now learned not to recommend a product until it exceeds expectations - and 2 out of 2 Liebherr fridges I have owned have failed in length of service.
If anyone is thinking about buying Liebherr - particularly if you aren't going to use them immediately - consider Miele who are happy to hold the product and don't start warranty until AFTER delivery. Otherwise, consider carefully before buying these high priced products which don't appear to be durable, and difficult to even get serviced.
Once I manage to get someone to look at them, I will post details of cost of repair so people have an idea of what they can expect.

Problem with Leibherr SICN 3066 fully integrated fridge/freezer – I bought a Leibherr SICN 3066 fully integrated fridge/freezer 4 years ago (2012) for our new home. My thinking is if you pay more you will get great quality and long service life however, after 4 years of ownership the fridge/freezer stopped cooling and freezing on two occasions over a 3 week period, but was working OK when the repair man arrived.… Read more
Now the story gets interesting.
My wife rang the Leibherr Customer Service desk 1300 650 020, explained the problem and was given the contact number of their recommended fridge repairer to call in our area; which my wife did.
Note; the service desk don't ask the model number of the fridge which I though was a key element for their own interest and also getting the fridge repaired.
The repairer came from a town in NSW about an hours drive from from where we live. The call out fee $95, then $25 per 10 minute increments or part thereof.
The repairer looked at our fridge and said, I know nothing about fridges I only work on dishwashers and electric or gas stoves. He then looked for the model number on the fridge but couldn't find it, my wife then read it out to him.
The repairer then spent the next 3 hours pressing buttons, reading the fridge manual, making phone calls to whoever seeking advice and was tolled he needed to check the fridge gas, he didn't have the equipment and further more wouldn't know how to use it if he did. Then there was the occasional call to his camping mates, I suppose that was to break the boredom.
In the end I helped him dismantle the fridge door to get it out of the enclosure and lift the fridge out to check if a light on the motor was flashing of which he was tolled about, apparently if the light is still flashing the motor is OK, all good there?
The end result of 3 hours of nothing; the fridge seems to be working OK as it did before, but the freezer is not working after the hours of button pressing and phone calls. I only wish he had of left the fridge alone and gone camping with his mates; at least the freezer would have still been working as before.
My questions; why was this company recommended by Liebherr, if they are not qualified to repair Liebherr fridges. Why was a non qualified service man sent to repair something he knew nothing about and now I have a freezer full of wasted food, what do I do now?
We are very unhappy and very disappointed in the Liebherr brand.

Liebherr SICBN3056LH & RH Integrated Fridge/Freezer Service Challenge! – I have a Leibherr side x side fridge/freezer purchased just over 6 years ago. 3 doors seals are cracked and perished, icemaker is broken, vegetable drawer rail has broken off. I made a service call that the distributor Andi &Co deflected to contractor, now I await the quote. The repair guy said, "oh yes the icemakers always go on this model,… Read more
so do the door seals but they have fixed that problem now"
A two door Fisher & Paykel purchased at the same time, gets the same level of use is still in 100% perfect working condition. The Fisher & Paykel 25% of the cost of the Liebherr that I was sold as the best integrated fridge available, really? I mean really??
I will post the repair cost when it comes in in a the next few days as I am sure it will be eye watering...

Longevity isn't a hallmark – We have a pigeon-pair Liebherr 3066-20 and 3056-21 that are five years old. Obviously not a cheap fridge/freezer combination but we wanted a quality unit that could be built in. Two days ago the ice-maker dispensed water, not cubes. The quote from a Liebherr service rep in Perth is $130 call-out plus $130 an hour plus the part - which he knows is… Read more
a problem and knew about it even before I explained the fault - is $390 plus GST.
So, rounded up, $600 for ice blocks for possibly another five years.
I don't think so. This is very disappointing and possibly an obsolescence issue, which would explain the 2-year warranty.
I think Liebherr should replace the part if it is known to have a fault.
Otherwise, it's a good fridge. But the old stand-by Westinghouse in the garage is 30 years old and has one service and is still plugging along.
And for lovers of "quality" white goods, I have heard that Liebherr is pretty realistic compared with Miele. All our Miele equipment has broken down in the (same) five years since our home renovation and Miele doesn't answer emails or help in any way. The last one was the dishwasher that cost $1500 to repair because of a faulty electrical switch that "got wet".
Just a warning!

Don't buy Lieberr – We recently purchased this fridge, after about four weeks the back of fridge was covered in an inch of ice. Technician was called and we were told it was a sensor problem. Had to wait two weeks for new sensor to arrive. Problem not fixed. We were advised that the fridge had to go back to repair shop. We now have been without a working fridge for 9 weeks. The fridge cost us a small fortune. Not happy. Should have stuck to Miele.

My advice is do NOT buy a Liebherr Fridge. Ever – I have 2 Liebherr fridges and one of my brothers has one and all are terrible and cost us thousands to keep running every year. Andico have never helped me and Endeavour Fridge Service in Brisbane are more than happy to come out but have not returned my email after I have done hours of problem solving to help them fix my fridges.

Please read this before you are tempted to buy one of these horrible fridges – I bought a house in 2013 with 2 of these fridges and have had nothing but trouble with them. In under 2 years I have spent $2800 trying to fix them and they continue to fail. Not included in this cost is the extra cost of having them completely reinstalled with massive vents everywhere including holes cut in the floor of the house and ceiling to… Read more

Re SICN 3066 integrated fridge freezer – I agree with the last comments, having purchased high end white goods for my kitchen I am constantly surprised at the lack of longevity. My Leibherr appliance stopped cooling and freezing. I called a listed technician to review the problem. Call out fee $130, then $80 per half hour thereafter. Sadly there appears to be a problem with the gas… Read more

Don't Buy These – We purchased two Liebber integrated fridges. Within 5 years, they have both had to have their hinges replaced. The cost for the fridge/freezer hinge replacement was $1,200 and for the fridge it was about $600. We were told that they needed replacing for two reasons. We kept too much in the shelves in the doors (apparently Europeans don't buy 2… Read more
litre containers of milk!) How ridiculous. They put shelves in fridge doors but you are not supposed to put anything in them? And the other reason given was that the mdf panels were too heavy but all kitchens are made of mdf. So don't waste your money.

Poor Help Trouble Shooting issues – I bought a SICN3066 fridge freezer in March 2011. The unit sat with the kitchen manufacturer for about 6 months after purchase before it was installed. It has been in use now for 3 1/2 years and for some reason has stopped working. We called the retail seller in NSW and they referred us to their customer service section. The guy who helped us… Read more
tried to get some support but there was little interest in the issue from those he contacted. I personally contacted the official importer in Melbourne and they were again not the least interested in providing support for trouble shooting the issue as the unit was out of warranty ...just!
My point is that when one buys 'high end' equipment like this one would expect a little more care and concern and support when an issue develops so close the the warranty expiry. We have now been referred to their appointed technician who charges $66 for a call out fee then $95 per hour for time on site plus any parts that may be required. I guess I'm a little shocked that products as being sold as great engineering, reliable in the long term are so easily disregarded by the support people as soon as the warranty runs out!

SAVE YOUR MONEY – We thought these fridges would be amazing. Worst purchase ever. Cost $7000 for the 2 integrated models. One has been a lemon since we installed it. To date it has cost in in excess of $1000 to have repaired. Liebherr won't come to the party and have an appalling attitude towards customer service recovery. Will never recommend or buy the brand again.

Integrated Fridge/Freezer - Andico gives good service – We have two of these units installed in our recently built house (3.5yrs ago) and we selected them because of the great integrated look and the perceived quality we have with German built appliances. the freezer and the temperature alarm kept sounding. We had to move all the food over to the other unit and restart an old F&P fridge/freezer we had in the garage until the Liebherr was fixed (which was a huge inconvenience that we weren't prepared for). Initially, the importer (Andico) recommended one of their authorised repairers to look at the unit (since it was just out of warranty). We had so much trouble with these repairers (Woolley Appliance Services, Deer Park VIC)....... they had NO idea what was wrong, had some guesses and just randomly replaced parts (at a significant cost to us)!
We ended up contacting Andico again and they came and removed the unit, had someone else look at it and they rectified the situation by installing a new unit (at less cost than the Woolley service visits!).......very pleased with the service provided by Andico.......they obviously stand by their product and were efficient with their service.
If they want to be super-efficient, then my recommendation is that Liebherr (&Andico) should only refer customers to appliance repairers with sufficient knowledge and expertise with regards to their products. Woolley app services give Liebherr a bad name with their guesswork, bungling and poor customer service. Streamlined, integrated look. Well designed fridge areas & shelving. Vegetable bins keep produce fresh. Good after sales service from Andico. Freezer compartments not ideal for holding big frozen items like pizza, pastry sheets etc
Shocking, non existant service – After 2 years my $7k side by side fridge freezer stopped working. I made an urgent service call given that it was a week of 35-40 degree weather. It was 8 days before I could be even given an appointment for a technician to come out and look at it. ( who knows how long it will take once he gets here) Do not buy Liebherr, there is no service,… Read more

What a turn around – Originally posted a bad review of this product. And very similar to a number of the reviews you can find on the net. There was a vent underneath which ran up behind… Read more
the fridge as per the installation drawings, but this vent space terminated at the roof and was effectively boxed in. Once holes were drilled the hot air had somewhere to escape to and all the previous problems of temperature dropping or alarms sounding and even the ice maker not working , have stopped. Now we have more ice than we know what to do with and all the temperatures remain where we set them. So happy :) Ice maker, built in. flexible storage. A tad expensive and limited service personnel that have the experience to work on it.
