This original review was left on their website as 2 star. It appears they do not post negative reviews, so I have come here with a 1 star due to their disingenuous ratings. They also have not been in contact regarding the original review. Original review - NOT ONE FOR THE ATHLETE & also not good as a daily... The feel of the sunscreen is okay, not as good as some zinc sunscreens I've used (like Soleo organics) but not as greasy as brands like WotNot and Avocado Zinc. Unfortunately I got burnt during a 2hour run today which I had applied 2hours before the run & applied thick enough that I wouldn't exactly call it "clear zinc', but I also wasn't a white ghost... This leaves it in the category of too sticky and not clear enough as a daily sunscreen, but not good enough for sports where I want proper coverage. Expensive mistake buying the 300g version, but wouldn't trust it on my family.

Hi Adam, thanks for taking the time to share your experience — and I’m sorry to hear you got burnt. Just to clarify on usage: applying sunscreen two hours before a run and then running for two hours (with sweating and wiping) isn’t an advisable use case for any sunscreen. For best protection, sunscreen should be applied shortly before sun exposure (allowing time to set), and then reapplied at least every 2 hours, and more often when sweating heavily or wiping sweat from your brow. It is widely documented that Zinc-based sunscreens can be physically wiped off when you’re sweating through friction from clothing, wiping sweat away, towel drying, etc., so frequent reapplication is especially important during endurance exercise. On the review point: we do publish all customer reviews, however we may choose not to publish a review if it appears the product hasn’t been used in line with the instructions. Based on what you’ve shared here (application two hours prior, then a two-hour run), that may have been the case.

Very oily, shiny and leaves a white cast Feels better throughout the day but takes a while to sink in and feels quite yuck when first applying Sad that this product isn’t better as I like the low tox element

Too greasy – Great that there is no white cast but far too greasy. Only using on arms now. Tube is also too small. Will not buy again.

Purchased in for $29.95.

Ticks every box! – Anyone who prefers natural sunscreen is probably aware that they often are very thick and leave a white cast. This is not such a big deal when you're applying to kids, but if you want to be able to use the same product for the whole family it's a tricky one to navigate. I was a bit sceptical about the 'clear' claim but I'm so happy to report that this product lives up to the name! Now my husband (who has eczema), child and I are all able to apply the same product! Happy to support an independent Aussie brand too.
