Avoid - it's been a nightmare – We bought a LOFRA online gas cooker and oven to replace one ( also LOFRA ) we had had for a long while. That older one was broadly fine . But this time it's been a disaster . Buying online was a mistake - because thereafter the online merchant and the company played ping pong to duck out of admitting how bad it was. The oven heats the metal bits… Read more

around it to too high a heat , the oven overheats ( we checked with a couple of thermometers ) and often does not light . Which leads to an accumulation of gas . The local OFRA guy is really nice - but the product is bad ad , even under guarantee, they would not take it away. So we have wasted a lot of money .

We loved it – Our oven was installed in 2005. It is now 2020 and we need to replace a thermostat and a selector switch. Not bad for 15 years. We are happy with the oven and the features. Hopefully we can find replacement parts because we do not want to change ovens. Show details

Perfect. Very good product – Excellent product. Too bad for the competition that uses this page to defame the product. I love the wok burner, we have gas hotplates ith cast iron trivets and electric ff oven. It fits perfectly into the spot in the kitchen and i love having 5 burners rather than 4 for a 600 oven  Show details

Lofra - Good value for money – I bought my Lofra a couple of months ago (second-hand) but I must say that I've enjoyed it so far. It cooks the food in a good way, it's easy to use and I think it's good value for the money. I also like that it's easy to clean (my old cooker was terrible).  Show details

Expensive to buy - expensive to repair – Have owned this oven for 6 years. New it cost around $3000. It is now on its third oven function selector, third oven door seal and second set of door hinges and the fan also needs replacing and it also needs a new bracket for the LED oven timer. The oven light transformer (it is 12 volts!!) ceased working after 4 years and replacement parts not… Read more

available in Aus (so have a torch handy to see in the oven when cooking). Having said the above the oven heats quickly and hold temp accurately which is amazing considering the door seal is so flimsy. Last but not least 2 of the four gas ignition sparks a failed after 4 years. Buy something cheaper and more reliable!

Beyond disappointed with this dud of an oven – Right from brand new the oven door didn't seal. Heat constantly escaping meant that controls dials cannot be touched unless you have an oven mitt on. All markings on control panel rubbed off in the first month of use (manufacturer's cleaning instructions were followed). Maybe the searing heat escaping from the oven melted them? Heat in oven is… Read more

very uneven (surprise, surprise). Constantly need to cook cakes in a bain marie to stop base burning before the rest of the batter is done. Timer stopped working early on too.

Lofra customer "help" desk anything but helpful. Expected us to remove the oven ourselves and transport 500km down to them in Somerville! Avoid this company/brand like the plague.

Nice looking oven but electronics let it down! – Same as everybody else, timer started making weird noises periodically and oven would go out as well. Given the high cost for a timer board replacement ($400) I decided to do away with the timer and install my own redundancy so the oven turns off in a power failure. Been working flawlessly ever since whilst retaining all the safety mechanisms as… Read more

installed by the manufacturer. FYI - the timer board interrupts the oven thermocouple (what keeps the oven ignited) when it's on the way out it makes noises, resets..... and that causes your oven to go out or not to light or relight.

Best Friend – I bought the Lofra in 2004 and it’s been my most loyal and effective appliance. Amazing oven and strong gas cooking burners. Makes awesome cakes and roasts. Retains heat long after cooking has ended. Looks amazing in the kitchen. Only downside is the grill element. Would buy all over again in a heartbeat.  Show details

Very happy consumer – I have bought my Lofra 6 years ago and did’nt have any problems. Excelant stove and as one consumer noted also very classy looking. I have bought a second one for my son and he is also very impressed. My wife oles using the stove. Don’t know why most people are complaining. Maybe they can’t afford and are giving it bad reviews. If the stove was so bad Lofra would have stop making it Show details

What a piece of junk – I wish I could negative stars on this piece of rubbish. Any reviews here that call it "excellent" and claim that "the competition uses this page to defame the product" must be Lofra employees. Almost every review of this oven has canned it for a good reason, and we've all had similar complaints and problems. The oven is only 4 years old and… Read more

I inherited it from the builder who installed it in the renovated house I purchased back in 2015.

I have already had to spend $400 on replacing the cactus element on the base. That was last January and of course the oven went on the blink just before Christmas.

In addition, the door will not sit flat and the serviceman spent an hour trying to rectify the hinges to no avail. So I permanently have heat escaping from this oven because of its shoddy design.

The timer has also stopped working so I have had to use an egg timer for the past nine months.

Now, only days before I'm hosting a party the oven has completely died. I went to use it last night and absolutely nothing.

This stupid oven barely gets used. Perhaps twice a week at most.

To quote the serviceman I just spoke with .... "Lofra's are rubbish". There you have it. He's an independant guy who has no allegiance to any particular product.

Absolute piece of garbage that will have cost me $1000 in repairs. After this repair I'm just going to replace this piece of rubbish with a new oven instead of the money pit that it is.

second thoughts – Things are improving.I am writing to review my earlier review. My oven has improved. Before the previous owner left she had had it cleaned by a "professional". The door seal was broken and refitted to hide the fact. All the shelves were in correct. That took some sorting. Then we found the bottom element had fused. Replacements were easily found,… Read more

and the price was not too bad. I now have a useable oven, though the grill leaves a lot to be desired.

Disastrous – Very poor design and shoddy construction. Oven selector switch broke away from panel and fell back into stove. Door hinges don’t hold oven fully shut. Piezo ignition intermittently won’t spark; gas cooktop otherwise OK and easy to clean. Oven door very hot so inefficient in power usage. Oven fan VERY noisy. Heat distribution in oven… Read more

very uneven, even on fan-forced setting. On non-convection setting won’t get hot enough to bake bread.

Oven surfaces hard to clean.

Oven shelves difficult to slide.

After reading reviews of disastrous after-sale service I have chosen to keep oven closed by wedging piece of cardboard in door.

Now that oven convention element not heating I plan to dump it.

What a piece of crap – Don't waste your money like we already have. The oven never worked properly and after warranty expired it cost a fortune to repair and the agent for service where useless.they damaged the new seal on install and didn't give a carrot.it seems like every year we have to spend more money on repairs.buyer beware.  Show details

Worst oven – Stove fairly new when all the burners no longer light with the auto ignition. If this is top of the range, we are all doomed – We have had this garbage thing for few years now, put up with the oven not cooking food properly - then other times perfectly. Nothing like having friends over and ending up with junk food from up the road instead. The gas burners work fine, the oven is a waste of space. We have had the repair people out more times than I can remember, but… Read more

can't afford to replace it and as usual told there are no parts anywhere in the known universe for it and to replace it - We can't afford to do that, it isn't an option.. Just want the heap of crap to work.

Add to that no signs of a manual to tell you what does what anywhere.. sort of 1950's service really...

No wonder these are at all the clearance places for dirt cheap now, I wouldn't have one or recommend this brand to my worst enemy - even if it was given to me.

Love my Lofra – Do love my Lofra. Purchased my Lofra a year ago from Masters as they were closing down. So far no problems. Easy to start. Easy to clean. Closing the lid makes the kitchen appear more tidy. It is a very classy looking addition to the kitchen. Would I purchase again? Yes.  Show details

Avoid Lofra – First the grill failed under warranty but had to pay for labour to replace it, the selector switch has caught on fire twice, had to replace the clock/timer twice, thermocouples have failed 3 times, the candles twice, oven door hinge needed replacing. Real piece of junk, avoid at all costs  Show details

Steer clear of Lofra – Very disappointed with the warranty provided by Technika. Bought a brand new townhouse, the Lofra oven was supplied by the builder but Technika measure the warranty from date of 'certificate of occupancy', this was before settlement. Anyway, stove ignition stops working and oven won't startup (except the fan which was still ok) right after warranty ends. Don't trust Lofra brand - steer clear.  Show details

Don't recommend – We have a lofra oven in our rental house, it basically stops working all together and has happened on so many occasions now that I feel that I must give it a review. Never have I ever had such problems before with any oven I've had in another house I've lived in before. In my opinion I would stay away from this oven and get another after all the frustration it has caused.  Show details

Not impressed. Buyer be warned – Reading the reviews, I suppose we are lucky that we had three reasonable years. Briefly, the oven cuts out after 10 minutes, the timer doesn't work and the fan sounds like a train. Never again. I believe that this summarises all.  Show details

Worst oven ever! – Our oven worked well for about 12 months! Then there was a recall, the glass was changed and it has overheated twice! We have had to change parts on several occasions! This is the third time it has stopped working and I won't repair it! It has almost cost us the same in repair bills as it cost to purchase. It now sits in my kitchen as a non functioning piece of stainless steel with a gap where the timer once use to sit! So very over it!!  Show details

Do Not Waste Your Money – This oven is a complete waste of money. After three years it has stopped working! I wish I had read these reviews before I spent thousands of dollars on an oven that is now broken and will cost god knows how much to repair. Disgusting product and support. Never purchase anything from TECHNIKA.

Sub standard quality - Lofra – After owning a 90cm Lofra cooker for 3 years and spending $1500 on repair after warranty, I believe the Lofra is a sub stand unit with no support in Australia or Italy. The service techs repairing the unit agrees the quality is below Australian standard. Why do the retailers delist Lofra quickly

Absolutely LOVE my stove top & oven!!!! – I was fortunate enough to buy a show room floor model for $1400 instead of over $3000!!! And we have had it for 18 months. I am over the moon with my purchase, regardless of perusing comments beforehand. Unfortunately, and apparently, Lofra dis not and has not a good reputation....but I cannot speak highly enough of the gas stove top...the glass… Read more

Don't Buy worst appliance ever!! – We bought a 80cm free standing oven 4 yrs ago. Like all the other reviews the timer broke (twice), the element also failed, the stove burner takes a long time to light up...we consistently service the oven and its is extremely expensive so we have decided to buy a new one. This time a different brand. We also rang the good guys to complain and they even admit that they get a lot of complaints regarding Lofra ovens.

wasted money – Not reliable, electronics are very expensive if you require service (which you will). The fire won't remain ignited after the first attempt to turn it on, requiring multiple attempts to even get the fire going. The timer also broke, making annoying periodic sounds to which the only solution is to unplug the stove completely. DO NOT BUY

Looks good only! - poor quality – We bought this oven 2 years ago from the Good Guys and we have had maintenance repairs with the oven seal twice....maintenance is now due to come out once again...this time with the stove! Gas is not being released to the stove....even with extended warranty, faith in this stove is very minimal. don't waste your money!

LEF9EGP Lofra Freestanding Cooker – Bought the product from Good Guys. After 3 years warranty period was up the oven started playing up. It just looks good – The oven fan is very noisy. The oven died 6months into an easy life and now for two weeks we are still waiting on parts for it to be repaired.
