This is the BEST carpet spot product I have ever used. I spilled spaghetti sauce on a light carpet last night. Long Life came to the rescue and the carpet looks new. I can not believe a few reviews have been negative, as this product is "carpet spot magic"! Show details

Follow-up  · This is a follow-up to my positive review of Long Life Carpet Cleaner. My carpet is fairly new. I had treated numerous spots / stains with Long Life, which usually vanished after the initial "mop up" with a cloth. I recall once treating a spot twice and it was successful. In the past, I had tried other products with little success. To be clear, the Long Life I had used was a spray and not a powder. I highly recommend this product.

Excellent for spot-cleaning upholstery – I have been using the Long Life spray cleaner to remove spots on upholstery for years. Just a quick spray and then wipe with a damp sponge and the stain is gone. Works every time. The smell is a bit chemically but not offensive.

Terrible product - Do not use! – When you brush the powder into the carpet, the powder literally goes everywhere and I ended up inhaling it and I couldn’t stop coughing. This product ruined my vacuum cleaner as it clogged it up and my vacuum doesn’t work now. And it ruined my carpet. It changed the colour and I had to get a professional carpet cleaner to make it better but not as good as it was. Avoid at all costs! Show details

Powder is garbage – I've used the foam before and it was great but Bunnings was out of stock or don't stock it any more, I purchased the powder. What a mistake. It actually made the stains worse and i think I'll be vacuuming for the next six months this to get it out. Show details

Love this product, very effective for stains – Finding it hard to find now in Supermarkets. I have found this to be the best carpet cleaner I have used over the years. Where can I obtain it? Who stocks it? Tried IGA which did stock it, but can't get it anymore. Woolworths don't stock it either. I am really worried it has been taken off the market.

Science project found Long Life to be most effective tomato sauce on carpet stain remover – My daughter has just completed her primary school science project which involved testing a number of products to see which one would be most effective in removing a tomato sauce stain. She tested a number of commercial and natural products and used water as a control. 'Long Life Carpet & Spot' was the most effective tomato sauce stain remover,… Read more

followed by 'Coles Wool Wash'. 'Cavalier Bremworth' did not perform well, but that is because it is intended for dry stains and tomato sauce is a wet stain. 'Vanish' performed poorly and forget about using vinegar, nail polish remover or eucalyptus oil.

This carpet cleaner is good – The carpet cleaner is pretty good if you have light stains. For the old person with irritable bowels it is not so good. If you have the runs and can't hold it in and do a big mess on the carpet, this is not the product for you! It seems to spread the brown stuff more if you know what I mean.

Great for upholstery as well as carpet – I have to say I have no idea what the negative reviews are about - this is a great product, it works as advertised, and does a fantastic job - better than any other product you will buy at a supermarket.

Excellent Holstery Cleaner – I have not used this product on carpet, but several times on chair upholstery, and I can say it is one of the best I have used. It is amazing to see the amount of dirt which comes out and very easy to use.

Insufficient safety warnings, caused vomiting – My 16yo son had the bright idea to use some of this to clean his carpet without informing anyone. I don't even know where he got it. But he sprayed his whole floor and left the doors and windows closed because it's winter, and even though I've not been in his room I'm now vomiting. There is no warning of this on the bottle and no listing of the… Read more

ingredients. For the record it is 2-butoxyethanol. Also known as ethylene glycol. So I essentially have a house full of solvent. This is why warnings and ingredient listing is important.

Ruins Carpet. Don't use it – I am a carpet cleaner of 22 years experience . I have recently seen where 2 of my customers have bleached their carpet using this product , which is made in China.

Long life tricky carpet – I used this product based on the company claiming the product is the worlds No 1 carpet cleaner. It got rid of the stain ok, but it left a thick sticky residue and the carpet was course. The stains are now worse as the residue attracts more dirt. My carpet is only four months old! Sticky residue

Long Life Stain Spreader – I agree with the above poster, the instructions are easy to follow, however, when the product only serves to darken and spread a mark, ease of use becomes a low priority. Furthermore, the pump mechanism of the spray gun is poorly designed and will dispense the product after you cease using it. As to the condition of the treated carpet, it… Read more

will look different from the untreated section, it will become coarse even after the treatment has been completed and carpet vacuumed.

The chemicals in the product are harsh both to skin and airways, which is fine in terms of contact because you can use gloves but the offensive smell lasts for weeks and you may not be able to use the room for that time.

ineffective, negatively impacts stains, damages carpet, packaging dispenses product after use, harsh to skin and intrusive smell
