Lonsdale Hotel

It was busy for a Sunday afternoon but the service was excellent, again, The food was great. My wife had the fish and Chips and I had the Scotch Fillet. Both meals were excellent. A good choice of wines, and we do like the new 300ml glasses of wine. It was a bit noisy, but it is a family style bistro so that was expected.

Was a last minute walk in dinner in the Lonsdale bistro with a couple of friends on a Sunday night. Food was excellent, decent wine available, service was welcoming with friendly staff. Meals arrive relatively quick. I had a chicken schnitzel with Diane sauce, mash and veg. Best schnitzel I've had in a while, golden, moist and a reasonable size. Vegetables were done to perfection with a slight crunch to them. Friends had a stuffed chicken which was also really nice.

Lonsdale Hotel demise – Last Sunday 2 adults 2 children first in do I g room for lunch.. ordered quickly and waited 3/4 hour for rubber squid, broiled chicken fillet with artificial stamped grill marks, dry on outside like leather soft and broiled in middle , smelled awful, veg were slimy and had taken shape of small bowl obviously been pre cooked and placed in bowls to ZAP … Brown marks on broccoli and yellow tops… I asked for a serrated knife to cut squid as could NOT be cut with ordinary knife.. Another meal was cooked to replace the squid… not edible, manager was abrupt sarcastic and rude condescending little man. I asked if chef could taste the squid as I’ve always had yummy squid there.. wow his response was hysterical.. we demanded refund for two meals and left with the little rabbit running after us it was so funny.. check out the reviews on their page… all the same, stating decline in meals and a rude new manager.. we are still laughing a week later, what a dweeb.. all those tacky renovations are now having an impact on quality of food .. thankfully never again, I do t eat Maccas but it would have been 100% better… Oh the wine was nice.. ;)
