Does a good job – Yes is loud. Yes is slow. Are you needing it for a top notch espresso machine? If so, look for something better. IMO it’s great for aero press, stove top, the Vietnamese filter or for car camping where you might just stick the grinds in a pot and boil for a bit. Put it on a rubber mat, cover with a towel or put it in the cupboard to reduce the… Read more

sound. Go have a shower or do the washing while you wait. Hasn’t bothered me yet, although some people’s reviews has me thinking they’re used to a much better machine or their expectations are too high. Overall, a worthy attempt at a portable and reliable grinder. Did I mention I’ve dropped this from height a couple of times but remarkably hasn’t even cracked.

The grinder cannot last more than 2 years – I used this Lume grinder for about one and half year though i am not a heavy user. The grinder just doesn’t function now. Emailed their customer service saying that possible the battery is dead and need to change which costs almost the same amount for the one i purchased. The light still can be on. Hence probably i can only use it as a torch… Read more

light perhaps. It did not continuously grind sufficient amount of coffee beans. You have to press again once it is stop and repeat till it finish grinding

Perfect for travel – I bought my Lume about 4 years ago and it has lived in my camper trailer and accompanied us everywhere we’ve been. When we are out exploring, the Lume gets used several times a day. We’ve learned how to be efficient with it to get the best out of it. We brew two types of coffee on the road: Plunger for those times when we want a big cup Espresso… Read more

using a manual espresso machine. The Lume is well up to the task for both types. It has been criticised for being slow but in the grinder world, slow is good. It doesn’t heat up the beans when grinding. The only way to go faster would be to use larger burrs or grind at a faster speed. Bigger burrs means a bigger machine. Not so portable. Speed =heat. So, what I do is put the grinder on, go fill and put the kettle on, prepare the cups and it all comes together well. I charge the battery before storage and the battery retains a full charge for 12 months (COVID saw to that). I also recharge at camp when convenient on the road. The construction is well thought out with solid components, rubber covered switches (keeps moisture out) and a well thought out thread in the doser - it can be used with thick gloves on. I do love my Lume and can recommend it for anybody wanting a light home use or second grinder.

Pretty ordinary for the price – I bought one of these in June 2018. Despite the claims of its maker, it cannot grind coffee fine enough for my lever coffee machine. It takes ages to grind the coffee and it is noisy. I had to shut it in a cupboard to keep the racket down while I waited (... and waited... and waited) for it to grind the coffee. The build quality seems good, but it… Read more

sounds cheap when in use. The burr seems to be off centre, so it makes a “rowr rowr rowr” sound. When examined under a jeweler’s eye piece, the ground coffee particles look uneven. I made a video clip of the off centre burr and sent it to the company I bought the grinder from and they said this is normal! My Porlex and Hario grinders both have perfectly centred burrs, produce even, finely ground coffee and are smaller, plus weigh less. I now have a very expensive rechargeable lamp to use when there is a power failure.

Battery dead in very short time, doesn't seem replaceable – At first it was fine although grinding time is long and have to press the button again every 2 minutes to grind a reasonable amount. However battery started dying rapidly, going from full charge to no charge at rest in a day. Show details

Exceptional – I've been using the Lume coffee grinder every day for a couple of months. I have to say this is my best purchase of coffee gears this year. It's very easy to adjust from coarse to fine based on personal needs. Most importantly, it's portable and battery-driven, which saves my life from hand grinder. Highly recommend!  Show details

Waste of time - Coffee Grinder – First Burr broke on second grind. Yes I received a replacement burr. Near on impossible to adjust the grind and it takes 4 rounds of grinding to fill a single shot. Skip this product and this company. Go manual and buy a Rhinowares. So so disappointed!  Show details
