middle as previous. I took their recommendation and bought a new slat bed base from them, earlier this year also, and got rid of my bed head on their recommendation. I phoned the company, and was told to put in writing, which I did some time ago, included photos. Problem for me is this replacement mattress is now worse than ever, sloped outwards on both sides of the bed with large hump again through the middle section of the mattress. The replacement mattress is now 6 months old. It exacerbates my pain, and comfort is a non event. The person on the other side of the bed certainly is rolling over the edge also. It's as if the mattresses crush on outer sides after a very short time. Very sad about it. With the first one, I followed makers instructions re turning etc to the letter of the law. Unfortunately now my back will not allow the frequent lifting/ turning - and I think it would make absolutely no difference!! Seems like a default problem.

Money well spent – I recently had the misfortune of buying the Moldandgas from a Scandinavian chain. Big mistake. While it was comfortable, it came moldy and smelly. Mattresses, go on try it. "Hello, Makin Mattresses". It was the delightful and informative Michael on the phone, how do they do it? When I visited he listened to what I wanted, allowed me to try the two mattresses that I had already researched on-line; and you really must go into the store to try them out. Everybody is different. I selected the more expensive one because I could understand why it would have a higher cost of manufacture. You get what you pay for, Plus a bit extra at Makin. While Australian manufacturing is slowly sliding down the toilet, Makin (Australian) is growing and can now be found in every major population centre. Think about it for a moment.

never happen before. Have always been flipping the mattress as recommended in the product disclosure form. Now it is getting worst, me and my wife together weigh less than $130kg. Called the Fyshwick store to get the mattress inspected the person i dealt with was really rude and not helpful at all. Tried explaining him the issue but he did not wanted to listen. Really bad service! My recommendation to new buyers is their mattresses are good quality buy if you want service later on during the warranty period good luck with that. They will not honor their words which is written in the product disclosure form.

we like a luxurious sleep we also purchased a micro cloud mattress topper from Micro Cloud. We are now sleeping on a cloud. We could not get a better sleep in a 5* hotel. We found the service at the Nundah store to be excellent. The staff did not hover around us while we made our choice We found that staff at other retailers stay close and don't give you a chance to think. The staff answered our questions professionally. Delivery was on time and the delivery staff were very polite and helpful. Thankyou Makin Mattresses we will return when we want a new mattress for sure. We hope this review makes your choice easier.

Excellent bed for 6' Teenager – I did not experience any dramas or problems with this Siesta ensemble. Son says the best sleep he has had in years. Just threw out Sleepmaker chiro single mattresses. From reading the reviews it sounds like the more nasty and aggressive your personality is, the more problems you face. It seems that Makin Mattresses is willing to resolve problems. Obviously, the mattress has long been out of warranty and until finding this review site, I didn't think there was anything I could do about it. But the quality of the build must come into question. None of our friends have had any issues with mattresses from the other more popular (and expensive) mattress models. At the time of purchase, we were showed the quality of their products and were impressed with the information we were given. But if you have to purchase a new mattress every 5-6 years then there is something seriously wrong and not worth the money you save buying a 'Makin' mattress. A good mattress should should last 10+ years and if you flip/rotate routinely then it should last much longer.

Our mattress is like sleeping on a hill with the sides sagging down and honestly, we flip/rotate all the time. I now sleep in the spare room as I just can't take it anymore. We are not the complaining type and don't feel we need to ring around the company and demand things, but I guess, were are just disappointed the mattress hasn't lived up to the expectations communicated while we were purchasing.

Maybe I should contact the store but judging from some people's experience, this may just result in more frustration. I would shop around and look on more review sites, and be more knowledgable before purchasing. There is clearly a problem with the innerspring and longevity of the mattress.

I tried the Chiro firm mattress first, and [name removed] told me to try the pocket spring type as well.

I was very happy with the one in the showroom, but once I got I got my bed it was like sleeping on rock.

So I kept waking up each 1 hour to roll over, the next morning I had red mark on both hips.

I turn it from head to toe and turn it over after a week by the booklet showed and said initial firmness you may be experiencing will disappear within a short period of time. So each time turned it was firmer, I have turn it now 4 time now and cant sleep on it as I have bruiser on both hips and legs.

I am having to sleep in my spare room on mattress that is only 12 months old and not had much use.

So the out come was a new bed that didn't fix the problem and another $500 on top $899 for first mattress and $400 for bed. result in me spending more money on an already expensive mattress. It's such a hard decision on choosing a comfortable mattress and something that takes time, so choose carefully or better still avoid this mob as unfortunately they only have your money in their best interest.

Replacement mattress is excellent – Following my initial review (below) I was contacted by Makin Mattresses and offered a replacement. We chose the soft version and it's still quite a firm mattress. We have a pillow top as well, and the combination works very well.

The contrast with our previous experience couldn't be more dramatic. I would now happily recommend this mattress.

We were convinced to buy one of the inner spring mattresses on the promise of superior quality materials and manufacturing. Instead, we've ended up with a mattress that peaks in the middle and slopes off to either side. It's been sent of for repair but was returned to us with the ridge remaining. Turning it makes no difference. We're both slender so it's not likely that we're the cause of the problem, although when I called to complain there was a cheeky suggestion that we don't spend enough time in the centre flattening it out.

It's also so hard it needs a pillow top, which makes the whole arrangement so high it's impossible to find sheets that fit well.

We're intensely disappointed with this miserable mattress. Between us we have 95 years of sleeping on mattresses and neither has ever encountered one that has worn so poorly. I would strongly recommend that potential customers steer clear. The promise of higher quality materials and manufacturing is simply not delivered. For the first few months it was comfortable. Wears poorly. Dreadful slope to the edges of the bed. Repair didn't resolve the problem.

Wish I had gone zoneless latex or foam from a cheap shop – Instead, I bought innerspring. quite sure how it is that you are supposed to get into bed without doing that first. I've just recently flipped it again, sloping off began within days, and now theres a huge chunk of wire that is poking out from the side. It has not get come through the material but its so close to it, its not funny. And its sticking into my leg when I sit down if I forget to feel for it beforehand. I'll be flipping it again today, but not before checking the integrity of the springs on the other side of the bed.

I've been disappointed with this mattress from day 1, but I have not complained to MM (Sandgate) because at first I thought it was "just me". Now, I've decided the mattress was never suitable for the task of giving me a good sleep (so maybe it is "just me"). Its my first, and last, "zoned" mattress. What a crock that is (and thats not just MM, its all of them). If you don't happen to lie in exactly the spot you are supposed to... god help your spine. I cant. I have to sleep partly sitting up, and that places my hips around where my waist ought to be. The pain is excruciating at times.

This mattress will soon be replaced by something else with no zones. Not much did not retain shape, poor construction of side walls.

came to me asking me to contact makin mattresses so i did.

I met the marketing manager natile and then i was referred back to the store which i bought it from originally and there i met adam the store manager.

Let me say that customer care is alive and well with these two people the problem was dealt with and fixed in about a week now my wife and i have a mattress that we indeed do enjoy sleeping on it is comfortable and does live up to its brand of indulgence.

Would i recommend this mattress yes i would i recommend nerang store yes in particular its management.

This is not a brown nosing exercise this is my experience and a happy one.

One more comment it is the norm to trash the business or anyone when things go wrong but rarely is it reversed when things go well.

result was achieved, thanks to a staff member’s persistence, skills, knowledge, motivation and expertise.

I am extremely satisfied and found staff to be professional, not to mention they provided me with what I would regard as excellent, honest, fair and honorable customer service. The staff member I dealt with did not take offense and worked very well with me, as the customer. I felt my needs were listened to and my situation understood, plus the staff member took action to rectify issues around my new king mattress and persisted until all issues were resolved to my satisfaction. Things were explained and demonstrated to help me understand and an apology was offered when the outcome of my mattress was not as had been hoped. The staff member was respectful towards me at all times.

To be honest, I had heard about other customer reviews from the internet, which was something to the effect of “Makin Mattresses are good as long as you are buying something from them, but once you have problems, it is another story”. Based on this, I was concerned about how my issues would be handled. But I must say, these negative reviews from others, has not been my experience at all, and I intend to recommend Makin Mattresses to my friends and acquaintances. The staff at MM questioned me very closely about the warranty procedures that I had carried out, and asked for photos of the slat base, which I provided. The mattress was cheerfully replaced with a top of the range innerspring, with comfort topper pad layer, which is wonderful and I am very pleased. The staff were at all times helpful, and their one concern was to make me happy . Their delivery service was excellent and always on time, and I would recommend this company to anybody without hesitation.

I cannot believe the bad experiences in this forum, and cannot help but wonder if the people writing them had perhaps nullified their warranty by not following exactly the requirements, or had used a non approved base, or had even perhaps had a bad attitude in making their complaints. I say this because MM were strict about the warranty, which is fair enough, and once satisfied that I had followed the warranty requirements fully, there was no hesitation in resolving my complaint quickly and cheerfully. Just after a year, this too has sagged into an uncomfortable hammock style. I am ready to buy a second hand mattress that I am sure would be more comfortable and stable. Stay away from this company! Horrible mattress – I would rather sleep on a concrete floor in sub zero temperatures than sleep on a Makin Mattresses mattress. wouldn't take the bed back and let us upgrade to a better one. The manager said we could have the layers of hard foam taken out at a cost of $50 to us so we did , but it didn't make much difference. Went and bought the pillow top.....again, hard as a rock, not at all soft and cushioning like you`d expect from a " pillow top" , waste of money..... all round.
