A Nightmare Experience - one star is too high! – I’ve never posted a bad review but after 15 months of waiting for some very serious build defects to be resolved I have no alternative. We had always dreamed of building our own home but this has turned out to be more of a nightmare and totally put us of ever building again. To give them their credit Manor Homes have addressed more than half of the 200+ build defects which included over 20 water leaks, a number of double glazing windows failing, wall insulation not being installed, the balustrade on the balcony becoming dangerously loose on more than one occasion and the storeroom floor collapsing due to dry rot. However they have not addressed the fact that 2 of our 4 bedrooms remain unusable due to the rain water seeping through the walls, or the rain water that pours in through some windows and doors, or the mould growing in various areas due to excessive dampness. The level of water soaking in to the upstairs concrete slab is of serious concern. There is growth on the Living Room walls, water dripping through the downstairs ceiling, rust spots in the render paintwork and some very substantial cracking through the slab. Yes, Manor have responded to most of my 100+ emails, letters and phone calls and try to reassure me that they are working on solutions but I need to see more than their general fix-it man here once a month to believe that they are taking the stress and trauma that they are putting us through seriously.

In November 2015 I advised Manor Homes that I was going to complain to the Building Commission. They immediately made an effort and addressed some of the painting, electrical, window and tiling defects, and so to my regret now I didn’t proceed with the complaint.

We have been extremely patient to date but as there has been very little action from them over the past 8 months we are going through the Building Commission for a resolution and also seeking legal advice.

Regrettable Experience – It is the worst purchasing decision of my life. The level of customer service is the worst I have encountered, everything about my experience building with this company has been sub standard and I would not recommend them. Only people who have benefited are my lawyers.
