The best builders in the Illawarra – It has been 2 years since we built with Marksman Homes and our new home is fabulous. We did a custom build, we mostly dealt with Leo who is an absolute legend and understood all the needs and wants we were after. He was very relatable and patient with all our silly questions and changes. Our site manager was James who was incredibly precise and didn’t miss anything. The tradies did an excellent job in every aspect of the build. We were living onsite (rural) so we watched every step of the build. There were very few problems at the 3 month maintenance and they fixed everything. The build of the house is superb. 3 months ago we had 184km/hr winds, we lost a few sheds but the house is so solid it stood like a rock and we felt safe in it. I have not been asked or bribed to write this review (like other builders). I am writing it in gratitude to Marksman homes as we couldn’t be happier and safer in the wonderful house they built for us. If I was ever to build again I would only build with Marksman.

Very impressive service 2 years after construction – We bought a 2-year-old Marksman home in mint condition except for some minor, non-life-threatening defects. The RE agent suggested I contact Marksman. I did, but expected to be ignored. I wasn't. To my astonishment (and gratitude) Marksman fixed them all and a couple more that they found. Clearly this is one of the advantages of using a local builder who cares about its local reputation. I am very impressed and would certainly consider Marksman if we were to build from scratch next time.

We love our new home! – Marksman have been great through every stage of our build. We dealt mainly with Steve, Peter and James and found them to be professional, ethical and easy to deal with. It's been a smooth ride. We're so happy with our home, it's come out exactly as we had imagined. The quality of finish is very high and best of all it was delivered early! We spoke to pretty much every builder in town and noticed a few differences which set Marksman apart as the best choice. - The options and variations were honestly priced and there were no surprises. The kitchen window splashback was a $2k option from another builder but was less than $300 with Marksman. On average for all the options we looked at, Marksman's extras were less than half the price of the same options from other builders. Other builders seem to discount their base price to get you to commit then make up their profit through exorbitant variation pricing. Marksman also doesn't require you to sign contracts until after council approval, meaning you aren't deeply committed before finalising your plans/selections and knowing the full cost. - We found Marksman to act ethically and to be focused on ensuring we were happy with the end result. We're on a slope, other builders proposed deep cut and fill, making their tender price look nice but requiring us to build a retaining wall once they're finished. Marksman proposed to raise the house to minimise cut, giving us a better view and nicer home with lower total cost. - Any little issues along the way were dealt with immediately, professionally and with zero friction. We never felt like we were in a battle with them. - They're flexible. We had a custom build, there was a specific design I wanted for the skylights. I gave James a sketch and he just made it happen, no fuss, no variation. This is now my favorite feature of the home.
