A very pleasant experience – My partner an I are currently in the process of building both our houses with Marshall Thompson. I am writing to tell you how happy and satisfied we both are from the level of professional service we have received from [name removed]. He has been fantastic and has truly gone above and beyond to ensure that we were satisfied with what we were… Read more
receiving. He has made the beginning stages of our building process so easy and I am always certain that if I ring him with a question or query, he always rings back if he can't tell me the answer immediately.
Having dealt with a number of different builders over the years, I can honestly say that he has been the best sales consultant. He deserves to be commended for the huge amount of effort he goes to and the level of service he offers to your clients. He has such a professional mannerism and a genuinely honest and considerate personality. We are truly grateful for his assistance and look forward to the next stage of our building process with Marshall Thompson. I will definitely recommend Marshall Thompson as a builder to others and in particular will send them to [name removed]. Please pass on our sincere appreciation for all his efforts, he is an asset to your company.
dishonest play with religion to get your support, blasphemy – 7 years of hard ship, always promis never turn up, structural and aesthetical issues, poor trades and no commitment to finish contrcated works, even left the fire dector out with the cord still hanging from celling. structural beams placed incorrectly which made top floor drop and cracked all tiles. plumbing and water leaks, skirting boards and… Read more
gyprock all stained . changed location of items so that it cost less to build and never advised.. supervior did not take responsiblilty for overseeing trades.. personal visit from owner MTH said lets let God work it out and take that view..... nothing structural and aesthetic issue
Terrible – Marshall Thompson Homes had no regard for me as a warranty claimant. Ask them also about the street of people in Athelstone in SA of whom [a few] houses have foundation problems. They tried a Queensland pole foundation system that has led to houses dropping on one side and cracks appearing from which owners can see the outside. Again [name… Read more
censored] just gives them the run around. One house has been built by people in their 70's and another couple just wanted a pleasant retirement. Now they have a fight on their hands. colour selection Significant defects such as litres of water entering the home at various points making part of the home unliveable have remained for years despite pleas for assistance. Eventually legal means were my only option. Marshall Thompson Homes will not let anyone higher than their inexperienced junior, [name censored] discuss defects and he just makes promises that never eventuate. When I say significant defects I am looking at over $40000 to retify. My homes has significant defects that the builder has no regard for. They actually said to Consumer Affairs that they will wait to find out what happens in court. They know that the Building Work Contractors Act does little to protect consumers from expensive legal fees in their fight for justice. I seriously doubt these comments will be put on your sight.
Terrible – You don't see or hear Marshall Thompson advertising like they used to. They were once associated with quality homes. You might have paid a bit more than other builders, but you got more. NOT now, stay away from them. As soon as you sign on the line, things change. Communication drops away, and the likelhood of arguments, harassment and abuse will… Read more
follow. The journey will be a very unhappy one. Unknown concept in this case. Once upon a time the name Marshall Thompson stood for quality, excellence and a finished product that stood out from the rest.If you had a Marshall Thompson home, then you had quality. Not so now. I don't know what has happened to change all of this, maybe the original founders and managers have gone, but the current managers could'nt run a chook raffle. I think if they hold any licence for building or supervision they must have won them in a lottery. We were appauled at the lack of communication, they just do as they please as if they are the ones doing You favours. Almost all the tradies we spoke to had significant gripes with Marshall Thompson homes. An ex M.T. Homes tradie told us he was never going to do another job for them because there were delays for up to 4 months to pay the tradies. We were keeping a close eye on the progress of the build and although we didn't experience huge delays in the build we did see some really bad mistakes made by some of the tradespeople, and these were really obvious, like crooked walls, and when we pointed this out to other tradies they told us not to hold our breath waiting for them to be fixed. When we contacted our building supervisor about the problems we had seen, he casually flipped it off and had the problems concealed. We were hounded for progress payments before the jobs were completed and once we were attacked by the progress payments manager a female, not a Joyfull person, who was abusive and threatened a halt to our build if we didn't pay up immediately, even though the job hadn't been finished. We began to suspect then that the group was having financial problems and we started to worry that they might be going under. We are now considering a new build for us and we are careful to read reviews about builders at this site, we will NEVER build with Marshall Thompson again. They don't give you what you pay for, they lie and deceive and you can never find the supervisor when you want to talk to him.
A complete disaster – Quality has been poor - water leaking for 4 years. Poor supervision of trades people and substandard building practices. We have finally had our house completed after 4 years of negotiation. It was not cheap and we did not get value for money. Poor workmanship, many defects and very poor customer service.
Terrible they don't care and have non existent after moving in service. You become invisible – I have lived here for five years now. I will never use or recommend marshall Thompson to any one. The house leaked for four years. The front windows the back windows the bathroom the garages under the balcony over my bed. The bathroom and garages still leak. I have been totally ignored for the last two years. Beware!,,, Bad workmanship, no support unreliable trades, site manager useless. He has been sacked thnkfully!!!
Terrible – We suspect the writer of the comments made on 17th October must be a member of the Marshall Thompson Homes executive! At this point, in Queensland, their sub-contractors are not being paid and now, three weeks later the company has ceased all work. Right from the beginning we have had constant delays, broken promises and no service. After twelve months our house is still not at lock-up stage.
Bad – Communication the worst - couldn't care less about after sales service or maintenance. Beware of the leaking pipes, the blocked pipes, the flooding, the rain water tanks leaking and not plumbed. To sum it up - don't build with them - they are slap dash and couldn't care less about you. Not worth the bother. Well it was built! and close to… Read more
completion - we are thankful for that! Too many problems after hand over. No after sales service, the company couldn't care less about the leaks, the flooding, rain water tank plumbing or cabling for Telstra. When contacting the Maintenance co-ord [name removed], [name removed] the site supervisor or [name removed] (the lowest rank manager who doesn't even return phone calls) - none of them care less. We have gone about fixing the problems ourselves - we did a better job and we did it quicker ourselves! lol
Excellent – our intiall quote was about 35 thousdand dearer than a builder we used for our last house, however i knew from expiernce that teh previous builder which i will not name did not include everything in teh costs and re contantly got phone calls such as "the electrition need more cable and we only allow for x amount of metres, blah blah i think that… Read more
call alone was $3500 extra . we learnt form that and pc sums etc.
marshal gave us a fixed price contract and got our soil reports done so we had no unknown costs as i think this is reason we are very happy with them.- My cousin is now going through a custom design with them and i have confidence in my recomedation. service hase been really good especially with the design of our house, they drew and redrew our house untill we were both happy and it was a free service. The other great thing wa they gave us a construction key so we basically check the prgress every 2 or 3 days, the last builder we used we ended up peering through windows because they would not let us inside,-never again that was way to frustrating. we did have some minor problems but they did get on to them and unlike our last builder they do listen to us , especuially since we are checking insid ethe house reguarly, the painter is in now and we should be in for xmas cannot wait. we didnt have any and the previous posts did scare us somwhats as i read them about 2 months ago , but for us all good.
