MasterClass

Deplorable – I purchased a family subscription in June 2023 when there was a promo discount being offered. Thought my offspring would enjoy it. Offspring never looked at it once. I tried their writing topic offerings, but it was talking heads. You couldn't walk away to do something then come back and roll it back to where you it was up to when you left. Nope. So it became background noise for me while I was doing the family ironing, or mending or something. A week before my subscription was set to expire, I went to their website and used the Cancel Subscription button (pic below) to cancel my membership. I saw some message that I'd cancelled but I could still enjoy their offerings until my current subscription ran out. So I know I'd followed the cancellation process to the very end. Then yesterday, I received an email from them. It had an invoice attached, and it had a receipt attached. They'd taken $360 from my credit card. I went straight to their website and checked my account and now they were showing me that I was a member until 17 June 2025! I saw red. I went back to their email and fired off a response pointing out that I had cancelled the membership the previous week, and that taking the money from my account was tantamount to theft. The response I received to that this morning has me steaming. That response is attached. According to the individual who responded, I am not entitled to a refund because i didn't respond to an email sent on 18 May to tell me my renewal was coming up! Excuse me? Why do these money-grubbers have a cancel membership button on their website if the only way they will accept that you're cancelling is if you send them an email???? Do I recommend Masterclass to anyone now? Not on your nellie. After 12 months of membership, I decided it wasn't worth the money (the discounted price I'd paid) and certainly not worth the full cost. But after this treatment, I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy. Their business ethics are non-existent, and their trustworthiness is down the toilet.
