Cleaner does a reasonable job but continually misses the same areas of the pool. The app is a PITA to use. Everytime you log in you are sent an email code and need to enter that into the app just to login to get the cleaner out of the pool or anything else that’s required. Most annoying and frustrating. the robot always turns the same way so tangles the power cord quickly, the amount of suction is a little poor and generates a cloud of fine dirt as it goes. For the cost of this cleaner I expected more.
At best random – Have had the X6 for nearly 2 years. My expectations are fairly high and that is in light of the fact it is set at a premium price,,, and unfortunately it falls short. use, Level of possible clean is excellent ( If you are finding the basket says its full but dosent look is, probably due to the efficiency of the micro filter becoming clogged, you may need to clean more often - Has great turn over of water through filter but will fill fast if a lot of fine sediment) - Looks good - Storage rack and trolley workes well. CONS: Like other users i find regardless of where I start it will spend 50% time recleaning the same 20% of spots, totally misses 20% (especially walls). To me it seems to have zero awareness of what it is doing. Its defualt appears to be do something for 2min then randomly do something else for 2min etc etc. That may mean for the full 2 min it will bang into the same wall end of a step without going anywhwere, or it may actually finally get up a wall after trying for 1.50min to clean, only to then turn around and clean a bit is has already done 10 times! It has real troubles staying on walls even with all pool ports turned off (X6 using jets rather than floats), I have only ever got it once to return up the wall for collection (think when the filter is full it loses jet power to climb). Id expect for the price and that fact it is cabled it would be able to map a pool and even alert if it was unable to clean spot. However instead it truly seems to use a very basic random program to best guess another direction to go in. It seems to have no ability to understand if it moving or not. I havent tried but think it would happily sit in my bath cleaning it for 2.5 hrs and feel its done an excellent job of cleaning a 60000l pool. I have 3 simple long bench steps, manages to get up one, but does it right at the end and then proceeds to band against that wall before throwing itself back down. Never gets on the other steps despite being fully submerged and never travel's along the length of the step. SUMMARY: Great filter capabilities, good app, good design, jet system to climb walls is 2nd best to float system and software used to map its travels is at best results in a random clean, but more often than not results in a comical fascination with with 2-4 spots in the pool. Personally would go more medium priced cleaner with micro filter and float wall climbing system.
Not market ready – I bought the AW6 in late November 2023. A month to the day, the controller box failed. Four phone calls to the customer support were fruitless - three went to the overflow line where I left messages that were not responded to. call me back. There is no manual supplied with the robot - just a quick start guide. And the app suggested I scan the QR code on the back of the controller for support - except the QR code scanner in the app did not recognise it. At a retail price of $3500, Maytronics don't get to not answer my phone call. I'm taking it back for a refund. Stay away from this product and company.
And yes - the controller was never exposed to the elements. When in use it remains under cover of our verandah and when not it use it is in a pool closet.
2 controller boxes have failed – I bought the X6 early 2023. The control box was replaced within a fortnight of purchase because it stopped working. And 10 months later the replacement controller has also stopped working. Has anyone else has this problem with the X6? Show details

Brilliant – Works so well, I have concrete pool and get large leaves from neighbors tree it has no trouble picking up these. Easy to Clean. lets you know when filter basket needs emptied. Phone app is great also. Have some trouble when retrieving doesn’t seem to come to edge when you tell it Too. But you can manually steer it. One of the better cleaners but not perfect for this price! – I had tried other brands and all failed. I had high hopes with this model but am a bit disappointed! floor I can see dust and particles start rising and get mixed with the water and as a result in a few minutes pool water become cloudy! I was expecting the suction to be very strong to catch them before they start floating! This one is really annoying!
- It misses some part of walls even with the longest deep clean cycle!
- Pick me up feature doesn't work. It gets stuck trying to climbing up the wall and often goes to the wrong side of the pool as well!
Overall I like this more than other brands and models but not something you want to pay ~3K$ for!!

setup and use. Most importantly, it cleans the pool so well. A massive improvement from the old robot! If your thinking about replacing your old unit or making the best step in purchasing one, this robot will save you tonnes of time, keeps your pool pristine and the warranty is exceptional as well.

Great cleaner! – Does it all!!!! Drop it in and control it with the app this robot makes life so much easier and genuinely does an amazing job. The slow clean is great in my pool as I end up with light debris that if the robot moves at a usual pace just gets lifted from the bottom with the force of it moving through the water. Operates poorly and is way over priced – This pool robot doesn't work as it should, is over priced for what it is and product support is non-existent. It cleans about 60 to 70% of the waterline, and repeatedly returns to the same areas. There are areas of the waterline that it never goes to. up the wall to get to the waterline. It often stays in one spot on the waterline for several minutes. Usually it cleans less than one metre of waterline before descending and moving to a different area. It has never cleaned more than about two metres continuously. It sometimes does a "wheelie" along the entire length or width of the pool. It sometimes moves alond the waterline almost at 90 degrees to it, rather than flat against it. Even in waterline mode it spends a lot of time moving around the floor. The app for operating the robot is very poor quality too. Almost everytime I try to connect it has problems whether by bluetooth or internet. The app no longer recognises my robot and won't allow it to re-register. The "pick me up" feature usually needs two or more attempts before the robot will actually drive up a wall to be picked up. It cleans the floor well, but so did my $250 suction cleaner. It collects fine dust very well. One of the main reasons that I bought this cleaner was for the waterline and walls because it is too big a job to do manually, but it really doesn't do that satisfactorily and is very frustrating to use. I contacted the shop where I purchased the robot and they forwarded my email to Maytronics. I received one missed call from somebody, and I have made several attempts to call him back but nobody has ever attempted to contact me again. I wouldn't buy this product again, nor recommend it to anybody
