Will not buy a Mazda again – I bought my Mazda 2 Automatic Hatch Genki, at that time the highest Mazda 2 model, in Dec 2017 brand new. It is a very comfortable car, easy to drive, has good fuel economy, however with just 3.5 years and under 40,000 I started having problems with 3 indicator lights coming on at the same time: TCS/DSC indicator light, Smart Brake Support/Smart… Read more
City Brakes Support indicator light, and the Check Engine light. They come on randomly and the car starts to break, I am not able to accelerate and the car feels bumpy, like when a manual car is on the wrong gear. Once it happened while driving up a hilly road at night and it was very scary! This issue has reoccured more than a dozen times over the last 7 months. I have taken my car to the 2 nearest Mazda Service Centres, one in Lismore and one in Tweed Heads, both were not able to detect the problem as they say the 'codes' get erased from history. Lismore Mazda kept my car for a few days to be driven by the technician while connected to live data recording, but the problem didn't occur as it comes on very randomly. It is frustrating as I am concerned about my safety but Mazda says it can't do anything to fix it. As far they are concerned, this problem does not exist as there's no record! (even though I have many photos to prove it) I will definitely not buy Mazda next time.
a good car – A very good reliable car but it is not fuel efficient and can be expensive to service if you service it through the dealer. However, I am still very happy with the car. Show details
A good fit for a family car – As our first family car this is a pleasant purchase, the dealership was also very friendly. Lately everything I am buying has turned out great. My new iPhone, furniture from desired living and now this fantastic car which drives like a dream Show details
Attractive little car that does a good job – I have had this car for over a year now. It is a nice little car that is very fuel efficient, attractive sporty design, and I love the Navigation system which is clear, and the speed odometer is on the dash, which helps you to keep your eyes on the road while driving. It did took me a while to get use to not looking down the odometer to check my… Read more · 1
speed in the beginning. A lot of little details that is very thoughtful. Love the blind spot warning on your side mirror.
The reason why I didn't give a 5 star score, is because I used to have a Honda Jazz which has a very functional seats that you can make it completely flat and lifting up one seat completely to modify the space according to your need, which Mazda 2 does not have. The other thing is the boot space is quite small compare to the other small car I had (Honda Jazz). Otherwise would have been perfect.
Great little car – Great little car that I have found to be without fault in the 5 months I’ve had it. It is very economical and has all the power you need for a city car. Very easy car to handle with all the driver assistance. Love the Sat Nav which has saved me on numerous occasions. Show details
Love love love my car – I use my car to commute to work in sydney. Bought the higher model new so the interior is lovely. Very easy to drive and just a wonderful car. Adding front sensors was really handy. Manual model (my preference) very easy to change gears and great for city driving. Overall very happy with Mazda. Odd issue with the NAV that seems to go funny close to service time! Show details
Mazda 2 – I just received my Mazda 2 Genki Auto on Friday. I love the dashboard and the safety features. The interior looks and feel posh. It also has the visor. My kids love the gadgets. The safety features are fantastic for the price. The fuel consumption is great and the car drives like a dream. Feels very comfortable and handles well. Great value. Show details
Perfect little car – I got the mazda 2 genki version 2 years ago in dark grey. The physical appearance of this generation is what sold me when compared to the last generation. Interior is very sleek and modern, low fuel consumption and surprisingly big enough to fit a small family. The push to start button and bluetooth are a must! Show details
A perfect city runnabout – I love this Mazda car which I bought for my partner . It is solidly built ( no tinny feel ) . The interior finish is high quality . It has fast acceleration for a small motor. The car is also excellent on long drives on freeways . It hums at 110 kms . No vibrations or rattles. The radio bluetooth system is brilliant. I recommend it. Show details

is not applicable to overhead roof.
Downsides- You are paying premium price for light car segment which is made in Thailand and NOT Japan
This car can sway sideways on windy days in Victoria on freeway. Solution is left lane drive or slow down the speed.
No blind spot monitoring in safety feature
Limited rearseat and bootspace.
Mazda navigation maps not very handy after the update during second routine service.
This car look spacious or large from out(designed to be like that) however, fits 4adults if you don't mind the legroom .
Inshort, perfect for 2 people!
Great Mazda Service, Solid feel built car – Was looking to replace my written off Honda Jazz, but went to compare the Madza just to see and felt it was built better overall for the same price range. Performance is slightly underpowered for it's weight but the handling is great. The car feels solid which reduces the road and engine noise. Basic service is nearly $290 from the dealer so i… Read more
take it to my trusty qualified mechanic for around $150. Note you do not have to get your car serviced at the dealer to keep your warranty, just as long as your mechanic is licensed and use genuine parts.
The car design inside is great, but the exterior is abit dull compare to other cars in it's class.
Rattle noise – Runs quite well Auto in cruise doesn't know when to change gears Interior nice but doors mark badly just with finger marks I've had a tingy (sounds like someone is on an old type writer) In seat belt pillars both sides Very annoying seems to happen when it's hot and first start the car Very intermittent Had it back 7 times since brought … Read more
First time they heard noise foam packed it
Went away for a little while but it's back and have had it back 6 more times with no luck Mazda saying they can't hear it
Very annoying when 3 people in my family can hear it
Have video recordings but that's not good enough
Mazda dealer have told me they have spent enough time resources on it
Nothing more they can do
Mazda Aust said take it to another dealer
What is the difference ?
At my expense and it's under warranty not happy
Bad upholstery – Everything about the car is top quality, aside from the bad upholstery in particular the front door trim. They mark continually and look very shabby, and I have been unable to restore the fabric to original condition, that's pretty rough for a one year old car ... Also 5 times when I have turned off the engine the car keeps running - weird! Has anyone had similar issues? Funnily enough I would still buy Mazda Show details
I love my car – This little car does it for me...I don't have to turn on the lights or wipers...the sat nav gives me directions and let's me know where the school zones are. It's zippy to drive and looks cute. I bought this one because my previous Mazda was so reliable I called her Matilda! Show details
