If I could give zero stars I would. Unresponsive, rude and seem unconcerned about complying with rental regulations. Management do not respond to complaints - guess it must be the culture of the company throughout.

Terrible staff members to deal with. A law unto themselves. Every nightmare you've read about strata groups thinkable is what one can experience with McNamee & Partners Queanbeyan. Staff rely on your difficulty disputing anything with fees and poor communication. They take your money and give you nothing. If they do manage to deal with you, they're horrible and condescending. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Please avoid at all costs.

Not recommended -- – Most of senior strata managers are horrible. They treat owners badly. After many owners made complaints, Fair Trading has investigated the leader of strata manager, we believe it is related with illegal conducts. contractors to get into contract jobs. They constantly punishing the owners who speak out. In the end, most owners are scare and remaining silent. Junior strata managers are quite good. Some Junior strata managers were aware some anti-law actions, and they have to forced to resign just on the day before AGM meeting. Quite often they spend strata money to do few individual owners jobs so that they get support from those benefited owners. Most of the time staffs block escalating issues to high level managers. It seems that they charge low fees, but it costs more to the owners for doing things with their own contractors.

You will have to push them to make sure they give you copies of any paperwork. They will not be happy if you exercise your rights as a tenant. They will rent to you properties that aren't up to appropriate living standards such as properties with mold, water damage, and / or random loose wires.

On a less factual and more personal note, I've never felt so helpless and worthless. Perhaps this isn't how they treat everyone, and I'm sure they aren't horrible people, but that isn't good enough to make up for the pain, the stress, the significant parts of my life spent feeling so frustrated and sad. I shouldn't have to here writing a review and hoping they'll change, I shouldn't have to be following them up on my calls and emails about important things, I shouldn't have to be the one whose thoroughly educating themselves in real estate laws just so I can know how much I've been mislead.

But here we are.

there. I did research through McNamee strata manager, she stated no records of parking bays layout going back past 2003. I raised motion to have parking bays remarked with extra bay in common area removed. At meeting, was told by new owner of unit with extra bay in common area that they had found evidence (from 1991) of extra parking bay belonging to the unit, I asked strata manager if she was aware she said yes. ( I believe the evidence should have been provided to all owners before meeting) motion was changed to remarking current layout and (without prior warning/notification) making garden areas in front of each unit the responsibility of unit owner. By-law was raised to that effect. We were told if there was not 100% agreement returned to manager the by-law would not go through. I did not agree with parking side of by-law and another owner did not agree with garden side of by-law. When I informed the strata manager she informed me that if it was not agreed all the markings would be removed and revert back to original DA plan (but the two units get to keep there extra parking bays). When I questioned this and the lack of time to consider extra item and information at previous meeting she got rather frosty. She is now holding EGM to vote this in. We do not have an executive committee (8 units). If you question her she becomes hostile. In the past she has not included enough information on motions for owners to make an informed vote. She has caused a division within the units. Now have tough job of convincing other owners to ditch this company. Going to Fair Trading.

June 5th 2017 Update: Dodgy

They have no common decency when dealing with tenants or minor issues. They give tenants the runaround when it is in the best interest of the landlords to be made aware of particular issues. Their first initial response is always No, We Can't, It's the owner, We'll get back to you ect.

This Real estate should be thoroughly investigated for Financial and tax issues, Providing misleading & incorrect information. Poor development standards of land blocks. They fit as many units on a block as possible without considering parking and street congestion issues. I suspect They pay off Councilmembers to get development approvals.

providing contact details). Agent could not be contacted to arrange pre-settlement inspection, had to call the receptionist directly to hunt them down as they do not return calls or answer emails. Agent refused to deliver keys after settlement. After having to actually travel to the office to get the keys, they did not give all the keys, requiring another round of hunting them down to get the rest. The Director of the Queanbeyan business gave me a call and basically told me to go away. An absolute nightmare to deal with.

operate within a model that is not ethical or compliant. Their practices are not transparent and they do not offer any explanation of process. They run the strata to meet their own needs and do not act on behalf of owners. If you are the unfortunate ones who are stuck with them, I am sure you won’t enjoy their rolling contract which re-signs itself before the scheduled AGM. This makes it almost impossible to get rid of them quickly. I am disgusted that they pocket 20% of our strata’s insurance premiums!!! Good luck if you can find their disclosure statement and see what other funds they're helping themselves to.

These guys will pay invoices without checking that tasks have been done. They will not come out and visit the sight. Nor will they always seek 3 quotes. These people bully, intimidate and divide. AVOID McNamee AT ALL COSTS!

The director is a rude, catty and abhorrent manager. Her manner is repulsive to the extreme and if McNamee stands by her work and behaviour, then I wouldn’t go near the entire company.

entire team is made up of a bunch of old, crotchety, cranky old fogeys that have one foot in the grave.

They do not listen to you. They will act on the easiest option that will allow them to finish for the day quicker. They could not give one hoot about you - you are their lowest and final priority.

Would not recommend them to my worst enemy.

I am absolutely shocked and amazed that they are somehow still in business!!!

Go check out all the other user reviews and their track record is obvious.

If I had to choose MacNamee and throwing my money down the drain. I would chose the drain. I would get more value and not be stuffed around.

name on TICA effectively preventing me from getting a lease with anyone else for 7 years!! McNamee made no attempt to contact me or to follow their legal obligation to advise me before hand they were going to place my name on TICA. (I've been renting for 20 years and have never had trouble with a real estate agent, always getting my bond refunded without issue). Years later and I'm still battling with them to have my name taken off that list. They are a law unto themselves. A mean spirited, unprofessional team of people who clearly have no idea about Real Estate management. Avoid this agent!

them. We have been living in our new property (privately rented) for over a week and a half now and have called every single day to sort out our bond not one phone call back. We were even given the property managers mobile number and left numerous messages to not be called back! princess of a property manager who thought she was infallible and always had to have the final word.

When they distributed the agenda without my items on it I hit the roof and demanded they place an item on the agenda to sack them. They tried to get in the way of that, too, until I threatened to take them to Fair Trading. You'd never guess, but as soon as we got rid of them the things we had been trying for years to get action taken against finally started to get done - guttering, gardening, collecting arrears, financial reporting, major maintenance, you name it. A performing seal could do a better job than this lot. The satisfaction of sacking them. Rude, lazy, inefficient, unhelpful, obstreperous, seek opportunities to maximise fees, and never ever follow through.

They compare very favourablely to my other experiences with strata managers. Advice accurate, service prompt, fees reasonable. Polite patient professional. Director Jan Browne really excellent. property manager is by far the worst aspect of dealing with [name removed]. She has been consistently pushy and rude since the day I signed the lease. She has furthermore incorrectly identified me on several occasions and has been rude to me and unwilling to talk and explain situations to me on several occasions. I hate having to go and see her in the office because she's so pushy and rude. She makes you feel like you are the biggest inconvenience under the sun and has absolutely no interest in spending more than thirty seconds with you.

Other horrible experience include the scheduled inspection. I called the office three times the morning of the inspections of my property and was assured that someone was coming to inspect despite the fact that she was thirty minutes late. I called again to find out that she came and left with out inspecting because she couldn't get in. When the inspector came back she was ditsy and made me feel very uncomfortable she took photos of my house and looked at my personal items.

Moreover my landlord decides to sell and we have since had seven dates booked for prospected buyers to come and inspect. As such the house was cleaned and time taken off to be there. All seven times the day before or the day of the inspections were canceled. The one inspection that did go ahead resulted in a very uncomfortable situation of five adults in my small house looking aimlessly at my belongings.

Moreover a particular partner at McNamee has called me four times mistaking me for someone else and proved very confused when I explained who I was. He more over began to ask me personal questions when I was in the office that did not relate to me and I again had to stop him and tell him who I was.

Overall I am very disappointed.

law, it is stratas right to take action but they do nothing. I ask where is our money going ?? Il tell you where, how bout check out the new fit out office in queanbeyan. Outstanding design, the refurbishment is amazing. That's where our money is going guys. I've also been emailing and taken photos of clogged up drains due to wild life growing under driveway, in a serious storm ( heavy rain ) this is dangerous as our places could easily flood. Yet they do nothing.

Absoloutely terrible – They made too many mistakes, very unprofessional. I have unresolved issue for almost 4 years. They claim they sent out letters but we never received them. Missing documents. Unable to manage maintenance requests. The Ian McNamee sign on our gate is devaluing our property and owners are unable to sell their property.

incorrectly and property details incorrect! we were paying a fortune in strata fees to these people only to find out years down the track that in actual fact our by laws didn't actually cover the water damage and consequent kitchen ceiling damage that was stated in the by laws to be covered in the first place we were left to foot the bill of the work that they had started because they don't know if they are coming or going nevertheless about individual property!! We will never ever buy/rent/lease anything else from this company again. Funny enough like an earlier review here our 'manager' is always on a lunch meeting or gone for the day - every time we call!!! Its not worth the problems and rubbish that comes with this pathetic excuse for a company. We pity anyone who has the unfortunate experience of having to converse with these 'managers'

I would hate to see how they handle selling a house. Dont ever deal with this agent, its more trouble than its worth.

The draws couldnt be seen or affect anyone else in the complex we had to spend $4000 fighting a bunch of overzealous property managers.

In the end when we tried to sell this property, Three sales fell through due to the behaviour of the property managers as buyers were not prepared to buy into a complex managed by Ian McNamee & Partners.

state for 6 weeks, they asked whether we expected them to call 120 people. We said yes, what do we pay for (considering there is only 12 properties in the block, the max would be 24 people)?

Secondly, we have not received any documentation relating to our Trinculo place property in two years.

Lastly, why do they not provide receipts for any work that was done, i.e. changing of light bulbs each month....when there is a cluster of dead bulbs for months..

Terrible customer service done by ex McDonald workers.

Terrible – Worst strata management company ever! Rude, lazy, condescending - just generally useless. Hope you don't want any Maintenance work done to your apartment in a hurry. At Least two weeks to get a simple job done Absolutely nothing Most condescending spitful staff I have ever come across. I would never recommend doing business with this below standard company. I am forced to as I rent from them but I promise this will be the last time.

to my apartment and was told rudely that all communication was to be in writing and they couldn't do anything until it was received. That was ok, I e-mailed in straight away, but didn't receive a reply or confirmation for 2 days and weeks later nothing has happened. Contrast this with other strata companies in Canberra I have had experience with that organise repairs right away and call you back with information.

have to go through the whole thing again as [name censored] had forgotten about us. We had money in our pockets (so to speak) and were wanting to buy but they just didn't seem all that interested. One month later after we got sick of waiting for her to contact us we purchased a different property through a different agent that actually wanted to sell to us. If you like to be ignored or just love to receive bad service....use McNamee. If you want great service...go elsewhere. Not really anything good about them. Bad service, really bad communication. Their agents are forgetful and lazy.

they could convince the committee to accept the single quote they obtained. In short, AVOID THEM. Nothing at all Poor service. Very rude to unit owners. Inflexible approach to strata management. Take it or leave it style when dealing with executive committee. Lousy attention to detail. In ability to effectively explain financial statements.
