Megasealed NSW South Coast

Hopeless service! I briefed some from megaseal over the phone and provided all the info required. When someone came to provide a quote, he rejected the job because the job was too small. I have wasted 3 weeks to get to this point and still have a leaking shower. I’m now dealing with a tiler in my area. Megaseal should change their name to megacrap. Mark Kiama

Feeling very overcharged – I Accepted the quote of $850 supplied by Ian based on the length of time he told me the job would take..which was half a day. I obviously didn’t read the quote properly and assumed my shower would be MEGASEALED. My ignorance and failure to ask Ian exactly ( he communicated nothing verbally except the time it would take) what work would be done has resulted in me feeling very overcharged for 2 hours work. The photos he took did include wall tiles so again I made an assumption which was wrong. The shower base and half a row of wall tiles only have been done with grey grout . The lower wall tiles were only done when I pointed out to the worker that the grout was missing. The corner was sealed with white grout and the rest left as is. I expected more and have learnt a valuable lesson.

Great work! – Very impressed by the prompt booking service and attention to customer communications. The tradesman was polite, respectful and let us know each day what time he would be arriving. Finally a company that cares for customers – I had 2 occasions to engage Megaseal and found them to be very customer focussed. They keep promises such as arriving on time, they engage qualified trades, the product used is great and the work is done to the highest standard. Unreliable and unprofessional – Strongly suggest you AVOID using Megasealed (NSW South Coast). We booked a job months ago. They cancelled at the last minute. No explanation, no apology. Completely leaving us in the lurch. Terrible service.

Retracted Quote – I was quoted $3190 to replace shower recess floor, replace first row of wall tiles, new sub floor in shower, relocate drain & water proofing. I was to source my floor tiles and I chose a Mosaic floor tile. My existing tiles have been discontinued so couldn’t match a tile so decided to make it a feature with a mosaic tile. Pollard that I would like to proceed with the job and I advised him of my tile choice. Ian said that tilers charge 30% more cause there is more cutting involved and then he said that more grout would be needed as the mosaic tiles are small & implying that this would be a problem. He said he would speak to his tiler and get back to me. On a Sunday evening at all most 10pm I receive an email retracting the quote due to the mosaic tile. He didn’t even call me to explain. I’m confused given that mosaic tiles have been used in bathroom floors and showers for decades and still today. What sort of product and service is Megasealed promoting? They promote they can stop shower leaks without ripping up tiles. In My case it was recommended that the tiles be ripped up and replaced. So with a whole new shower floor Megasealed can’t do the job due to mosaic tiles? Ridiculous!! It shouldn’t matter if the Megasealed Product does what is says. Tiles and grout are porous hence the waterproofing required. I’m left believing that the Megasealed product must be crap and doesn’t do what they claim. I think Ive dodged a bullet here and saved myself big dollars. Will not ever recommend this company.

Don't ignore all the bad reviews – Like everybody else on here, I'm another unhappy customer. I read all these bad reviews prior to going ahead with my shower floor being retiled. sealed by Megasealed would stop my shower from leaking. The service rep told me, 'it will never leak again.' I waited more than the recommended 48 hours to use the shower. The water wasn't even running for 30 seconds before it began leaking again.

I paid $1290 and I still have the same problem.

The 'Technician' they send out is extremely messy and appears completely unqualified. He didn't even have a look at what he was doing was what needed to be done. The service rep was the one that said the floor had to be completely retiled, yet he never took a look at the possibility of why it was leaking.

I'm really disappointed. If it still continues to leak after the repair job is conducted, I'll be requesting a refund.

You don't pay over $1200 for the problem to still exist. I would not recommend this company to anybody.
