"Near enough is good enough" – I'm writing this as a warning of a shonky operator so others don't have the same experience as me. I ordered 2 sliding mirrored doors. Following the order I received the usual email with order confirmation. I was unclear on a few details and wanted to speak to someone, here's where the stress begins. The email provided on their website is… Read more
blocked, the phone number listed as customer support goes unanswered, (quote from an email: "the phone number you contacted is not a customer service phone, therefore not monitored") there is no business address and the chat box doesn't work. They are are running an automated DIY Wix site and can only be contacted via a contact form, so this immediately got me nervous with so many [Content Removed] around these days. After numerous unanswered phone calls, voicemails, rejected emails, unkept arrangements to return calls, someone finally got back to me and gave me some order details and an eta. I also managed to set up email communication.
When I finally got my doors delivered, they were out of square by at least 15mm, (the pic shows the top but increases toward the bottom) the tracks weren't cut to exact size so I had to cut them down myself and a corner of the bumper had been dragged and damaged. I mean, they are literally a rectangle and they can't get the corners at 90 degrees??? I'm thinking, what kind of back yard operation can't even get a door square or has any quality control? At first they suggested I knock the frames into square myself! Oh, OK, I'll do your job for you. Then they said they'd send an experienced person out to fix but he turned out to be the delivery man!! I was showing him how skewed they were with my square and level as he had only brought a rubber mallet, and he said he didn't have his glasses with him and if one edge lines up with the wall just leave it on that side! I stepped outside and rang the "unattended" number which they actually answered and told them I wasn't happy with the customer service and to send the expert that was promised. Next day I tried even harder to knock the frames into square but ended up damaging the seal and bending the frames as they seem to be glued in? but I'm no expert.
I sent a strongly worded email outlining their disrespectful and negligent service and received no reply. I sent 3 more with photos showing my repair attempts with no reply. Finally I threatened to post bad reviews online and they told me they didn't reply because I was disrespectful to THEM! Wow! The customer who gave you $600 for a very basic product that should have been be a walk in the park!
Finally, after rebuking all their gaslighting arguments, they offered to replace the doors or give a refund and since I had lost any faith in their ability to do literally anything, I opted for a refund. At least they honoured that. Now I have 2 out of whack damaged doors and have to work out what to do in the middle of a renovation. The attitude of this company is "near enough is good enough".
