Spluttering milk froth – We have our second Melitta machine now and we learned ourselves how to troubleshoot over time. It may work for you to replace the milk hose - over time it looses the tight seal on the grommets. Further, give it a number of milk system rinses - after having rinsed four times the milk froth came out perfect again.

Terrible coffee machine very disappointed customers – Totally agree with previous reviewer very high maintenance machine Our first machine had to be sent back because the sensor kept saying tray needed to be emptied, before even using Second machine kept complaining about tray needing to be emptied after being cleaned. So needed to be cleaned twice. Impossible to clean (photo attached) we diligently cleaned coffee system, descaled machine when required and cleaned brewing unit but still were left with ground beans internally which were very difficult to clean so went mouldy. We now can’t use machine as it keeps saying it needs bean refill, which indicates potentially stuck bean but unable to remove. Potentially $400 fix plus postage Would definitely not recommend this coffee machine.

It's $1850 to buy and $1000 per year to maintain. Forget this – Makes good coffee but this machine is super high maintenance. So it's not worth buying. Every 2-3 days, I have to dump the load of water from the tray out before I can make a cuppa. I also need to clean the brewing unit or else it gets mouldy. Every year, the grinder blades' got some problem so I have to send it into the repair centre. For the second time, the blades got rusty (yes, within 12 months of the last replacement). Since it is a few weeks after the 2 year warranty, it is $430 to replace and $100 to ship back.
And on top of that, you have to buy filter, cleaning tabs, anti-calc power and milk system cleaners. Yes, I'm now left with these useless supplies.
Don't get me started with the after-sales "service". Lots of questions but really it's gaslighting, trying to convince me that I've made the same mistakes others made. I mean, far out, they'd think I spent so much money maintaining the machine only to put my beans in fridge and get moisture on the beans and then, the grinder!
And it only froth one particular brand of milk. For those in AU, it's Farmhouse Gold or else it sputters all over the counter. Even then, it will not work with skim milk. Only full cream milk.
Take your money elsewhere and save yourself the trouble.

1. You prove my point. It's a high maintainence machine. 2. The machine is with you and the photo you showed includes grounds but I can't see that it is wet. Everything is just... brown. (So basically, it's information asymmetry because the machine is with you.) 3. All your questions are phrased to get out of me that I've wet the beans. All are accusatory. Your PM is a trap and not a genuine effort to help.
Makes really good coffee, but machine breaks down constantly – The machine is easy to operate,easy to clean,makes good espresso coffee and cappuccino when it works Had it repaired numerous times . Brewer unit gets stuck coming out or I can’t put it back in

Great machine met all expectations – Coffee is great with a consistent quality on the same settings. I like my coffee really hot but happy with this machine. Easy to clean and the maintenance menu talks you through the steps. Best machine we ever had! But not cheap.

Dear SL S, We very much regret that you do not have a good opinion of the Barista TS Smart. As we have already informed you by PM, there are daily maintenance requirements for coffee machines which includes the use of cleaning products which is further explained within the Operating Manual. Unfortunately, our customer service team have unsuccessfully attempted to identify together with you why moist beans and grounds were found in the grinder whilst your machine was in our service center.
