Super slick drive - luxury you can afford! – We use the car for everyday driving and find it such a pleasure to drive. The steering wheel turns so effortlessly (you won't know what I'm talking about until you experience it), it has mind boggling good fuel economy (for diesel version which we have), and service is required very infrequently compared to many other cars. These cars hold up very well long term without risk of costly repairs. As an everyday luxury car, you can't go past this! Show details
Very disappointing – Started off as such a wonderful drive but after a few years there was a problem with the engine. One of the engine parts (we learned) was known to fail over time. The cam shaft adjuster for the m271 engine is made from cast iron and it’s operation against the single-row steel timing chain causes the teeth to wear prematurely. The teeth can break… Read more
off. This can lead to dangerous and serious engine damage. It cost $10 000 to fix. The component design has since been changed and is not a problem in new vehicles. Will never buy Mercedes again. Very let down.
Good drive – Love our C200, it has turned into our family car, fits 2 car seat in perfectly. Loving the performance of the car, the car is very quiet when we drive on the highway. Running cost is quite low compared to our previous car. One of the dislike about this car is without voice control which is very common among new cars. Show details
Is this a good car? – My wife's 2009 was bought brand new and has had to be towed at least twice now for critical electrical failures. Sure it is a beautifully designed car and performs well but when its service costs reach 2500 a time you expect the car to be faultless and trouble free which it isn't. Its diesel engine is fantastic but over time I feel that it is harsh and very smokey. Would not recommend another. Show details
Excellent – The best car I have ever owned. Previous cars - VW beetle, Volvo 144GL, VW Golf 77, HQ Holden, Honda Accord 1980, Mazda 626, Holden Astra TC CD, BMW 525E, BMW 318i x 3. The ride and handling is excellent. When servicing the staff treat you special, compared when our holden is serviced. Brakes will probably require servicing at 110,000Km. Coolant… Read more · 2
only requires changing at 250,000Km and gearbox oil is not changed. Tyres 100,000km rotate every 10k by Jax. Service is cheep compared to a Subaru every 6 months and Holden Astra. I only visited the service department every year. The computorised Assist service is 15,000km / yearly "for people who do not check the oil". I obtained permission from MB to service yearly or 25,000km like BMW without loosing warranty. Ensure you use Mobil 0-40w - that I provide. Have travelled 78,000km. Requires some computor knowledge to load music into Command music system via PCMIA card only recognises FAT files. Service department are unable to assist.
