Perfect experience with MetroStrata – I couldn’t be happier with the service provided by MetroStrata. My consultant Keong Chan provided a customer service that is rarely seen today - insisting to do all dealings in-person and always coming to my home to meet, making changes to the house plan very quickly, and is always pleasant. Keong always found and recommended the best option… Read more
which also fit my budget (even if that meant making many trips to my home!) which is amazing to have as a first home builder.
At pre-start, Lauren Reid provides exceptional help, expertise and customer service.
My whole building process has been seamless, easy and exciting. I couldn't recommend MetroStrata and the team more!
MetroStrata are amazing to work with! – I had the pleasure of working with MetroStrata for my home build. I work remote from Perth and I found the process easy and the staff amazing. They could not do enough to make it easy for me, and working away made it a challenge. I only inspected the build 4 times during the process and there where no issues encountered and final inspection was… Read more
a breeze.
Construction time was ahead of schedule.
Standard finishes where way above my expectations and I was very happy to be moving in.
If you get Lauren as a liaison then you are in for a great experience.
Great Development Outcome – Having been exposed to the building industry for over 15 years I have dealt with many builders. My experience with Metrostrata has been second to none. From initial drawings stage to building license all the way through to handover was professionally managed with staff from all areas of their business eager to get the best outcomes on our… Read more
behalf.
The end product was on time and completed to a high standard.
Metrostrata's company culture is open and friendly and I look forward to another opportunity to work with them again.

3 Properties built – I had three properties built with Metro strata, all completed at the end of 2016 the properties were completed on time and on budget, any issues that were raised during the sub-division or construction period were dealt with in a timely manner and they handled all steps with the council right through the subdivision process, Metro Strata kept me… Read more
in the loop right the way through the building of the properties,
All staff I dealt with from initial contact to the completion and the hand over of the properties conducted themselves in a professional manner,
I have no issues with recommending Metro strata for anyone looking to build or subdivide a single or multiple properties and would defiantly use them for another build,
11 house build handled well – Metrostrata built my 11 house build in Maddington commencing around November 2015 and finishing July 2016. They were able to offer a fixed price on the houses but made it clear that site works were an estimation only. They worked well with my bank and the local council (who were difficult) to come up with solutions to issues as they surfaced… Read more
(council requirements and difficult neighbours!). I was kept informed when Pricing was in line with industry standards and Metrostrata worked well with my bank to make the financing and payment process smooth. A few small issues post completion which took a little bit of time to sort out (staff member had left) but once I'd contacted another staff member, issues were sorted out pretty quickly with minimal disruption.
I'd recommend Metrostrata. Like all builds though, be clear on what's included and what's not; what's fixed and what's an estimate. A builder can give guidance on expected other costs but its only a guide!
Nightmare builders – We built a house behind a house subdivision with highbury homes metrostrata. Building a new 4x2 170sq house on 380sq block. The block is our original land. Behind our original house in 2016. We decided to go with this company because, the salesman said there will be no expensive surprises (trust me there were plenty!!) and stated that they are a… Read more
one stop shop for all subdivision needs but didn't want to do the subdivision once we gave a 6% deposit to get things moving ie survey strata application etc. but later got slapped at pre start with a 35k bill (what no hidden surprises?) He issued us with a feasibility with all expected costs. Around $220k for site works, the build, subdivision the lot finished. Not the case here! We paid $270k!!! With highbury/metrostrata. And for that we did not have carpets, painted house, blinds, a/c or paving for the front house or entertainment area, carport, for the front house.
From the start I was already getting screwed over. I already had my contour feature survey from a previous dealing with another building firm around $800. But [name removed] explained I have to pay them $2200. For the design and survey (company policy) but the remaining funds will go towards the build if I decided to go ahead. I did not receive or see that money again! Even though i constantly reminded them by email (ignored).
Site works went ok at first until they smashed through the new sewer line 2 times! A week apart. Just let you know, originally the cost of the new sewer line was a hidden surprise cost!
I arrived home from work one evening and decided to have a look at what has been done during the day. They had dug a trench for the service ie gas electricity. And smashed straight through the new sewer line. No phone call no email no nothing! Completely left in the literally!!.
As the front house which we are living in is backing up with sewage at this stage.
Any way next day it gets fixed. The following weekend this happens again. I had the washing machine on in the house and it flooded the laundry with sewage. Sewage also backing up in kitchen, bathrooms too. This was on the Saturday a week after they fixed the first break they did it again. Not able to use the toilet or bathrooms or kitchen that weekend. Stressed!!
Ok brick stage starts ok. Once finished, the bricklayers leave all the scaffolding at the rear for collection. I guess the site manager calls the company to come pick up the scaffolding which was left at the front house on delivery but now at the rear house for collection. But.. there is no access for a big truck at the lane for the rear house? So I get a call while at work telling me they have drove a truck in to the front house! Damaging the roof and eves and destroying the gutter and fascia completely. Just before I go on holiday, Bering in mind it's July and we have heavy rain at this month in Perth.
Highbury were more angry with me about the situation. What because I sent an email with my concerns? The damage to the front house was not finished or started until 4 months later. Only because I applied pressure to fix the crash damage.
Ok house is almost complete now. 2 fences have had been smashed during site clean ups. Highbury don't wanna no! Fix it? No chance!
Fence goes in to separate the front and rear house. Get another surprise, the colour bond fence is 1800 height. All the way down the common property. Which is dangerous it's not even legal. Because say if there is a child or adult walks out onto the common property and a car from the rear property drives past the child or adult and car driver are completely unseen!
Once again highbury don't wanna know. I pay a tradesman to cut the fence down to the legal requirement.
Once again we get a variation of contract for the fence as they need support panels in the bottom panel.
At this point highbury homes/metrostratas [name removed] has no plans for the survey strata parking bays for the front house or any council requirements for that matter, for the front house regarding the survey strata and city of swan council. Continued to push on with paving and fencing the common property with no plans with the bad attitude of if its wrong you can pay someone to demolish all the paving and fencing if the council say it's no good?
How can you start work without a plan!? Or council approval!? The council have strict requirements for parking area and outdoor living area and storage sheds and in some cases covered parking areas.
I think highbury/metrostrata have no experience with subdivisions. I think they turned to these developments due to the down turn.
Wish I had seen some of the other reviews on this site before I proceeded. Because they are true and match my experience and complaints.
Highbury/metrostrata promise you everything then give you nothing but expensive surprises. They have a bad attitude at every level and can not be bothered with even basic communication after they have your money.
At the day of the hand over. I pointed out some defects, like dents all over one of the bedroom door frame's. And paving also was not good enough, meaning it is like motorcross track, bumpy and uneven all over the place. Pointed these concerns out.
But same bad attitude and unwilling to do anything about it.
