I got these tyres on recommendation from my mechanic. I do light off road but 99% on bitumen or gravel. Initial thoughts - wow! So quiet and smooth - and I drive a 200 series Sahara which is very comfortable anyway. To actually notice a difference in the ride was amazing for my comfort. Will check back in at 10,000 kms. Best wearing SUV tyre I've had – At 70,000 Km's still have 20,000 Km's left on them, quiet on road and very good handling in the wet, good off road as well bought from Tyres plus in South Windsor at a low price and good service.
Excellent all round 4WD tyre – I fitted Michelin LTX Force 285/65 R17 to my 200 series Landcruiser 70,000km ago after some considerable research. I know no-one else who has these fitted and frankly, I am astounded that they are not more popular. Probably because they are not considered "proper" off-road tyres. Nonsense, I have been across the Simpson Desert twice, over some… Read more
of the worst corrugated and rocky roads imaginable, on sandy beaches and seriously rugged tracks. I have never had a puncture. The tyre surface is resilient and does not "chip". The Michelins preformed faultlessly. They grip well on the sealed road, are excellent in the wet even after this time, and importantly for me are a comfortable and quiet ride. I left my review to this point to see how well they would wear. I am certain I will get at least 100,000km out of them before they need replacement. An outstanding product and worth every consideration.
Have yet to find a better tyre – Over 80,000ks and they still look good for another 20,000. About 15,000ks off road - mostly sand - no complaints. Handles very well on wet roads. Show details
Unbelievable Tyres, best ever in my opinion! – Attended my local Tyres Plus Store as my stock Bridgestones on my new Ford Ranger Wildtrak had worn out at 60,000klms. I advised I was an occasional beach goer with the occasional dirt road driving. The tyre shop owner advised the rep's were having trouble wearing out the Michelin LTX Force tyres. I purchased 4 new ones at $225 each and these… Read more
tyres were the best tyres I had ever had on any of my utes in the past 10 years. I travel a huge amount of klms (usually 100,000 per year). After 6 months I had travelled 76,000 klms and these tyres were 50% worn. Weekly checks of the pressures and rotated evey 15,000klms, these are the best I have ever had! Cannot recommend enough. Sold the ute due to end of lease but tyres were still going!
First class Tyre – These Michelin LTX force are a fantastic Tyre. they are extremely long wearing and have great on road characteristics ,They provide very quiet running on the tar ,along with great grip in both dry and wet conditions . As and off road Tyre they are a reasonable performer ,when you consider how good they are as a road Tyre The excellent grip and on… Read more
road performance make then a ideal Tyre for Utes or dual cabs .as this type of 4x4 can lack on road manners when fitted with the average cheap Tyre often fitted to them
Update to previous review – Update to my previous review, i am happy to report the Michelin LTX Force tyres [225/65/17] are performing very well. Have now travelled 47,000kms with no punctures , still have 6mm of tread depth with slight scalloping on outside tread. Looking very likely i will achieve 75-80,000kms, which is impressive considering the previous Bridgestone 697s Duelers only achieved 45,000 kms. Highly recommended. Show details
Michelin Live Up To Their Reputation – Nearly three yrs ago, I bought some Michelin LTX Force tyres for our Prado. I have always been a big fan of Michelin but twice in my life I chose, on the recommendation of others, other brands. Each time was a disaster. The research I did on these tyres confirmed my past experience with Michelin......good wear and good grip. Some people said the… Read more
wear was exceptional (up to 130,000km). Well, we've done 50,000km so far. The ride has been very quiet and comfortable and the grip has been excellent. The tread depth from new is 9mm. After 50,000km, the rear tyres are at 7.9mm and the front tyres are at 7.1mm. This suggests that 130,000km is a quite realistic expectation. So, if you're thinking that Michelin are expensive, well, yes, they are but on a safety and wear factor, perhaps not so much. I won't drive on anything else. Based on 45yrs of driving, I highly recommend Michelin as a brand and, for anyone driving a mid to large SUV, the LTX Force are fantastic.
Best tyres for a ute – All the tyres I've used in the past for utes have not stopped drift around corners. I live on a mountain and the roads up and down are twisty and especially dangerous during wet weather. These tyres give you a feeling of stickability and safety in both wet and dry conditions. When viewing them they don't give the impression of a "macho" tyre… Read more
with deep treads, but on the road they're impressive. Would recommend to all seeking safety and reassurance above superficial appearances.
Best all round 4x4 – (Ford Ranger)I travel highway and gravel roads, they are brilliant.Quiet, smooth ride, good fuel economy, grippy in wet.done 58k Kms still going strong.might get 70k.only one puncture so far.best 4x4 tyre I have fitted Show details
Best suv tyre ever had – Fitted ltx force 265/65/17 tyres on 2018 colorado. Now dine 10000 km. Without doubt the best tyres ive ever had fitted. Both towing 2t van and vehicle only perform superbly. Both wet and dry they really grip well. Pushing vehicle hard on winding road through mountains in rain they never looked like letting go. Excellent also on snow and slush… Read more
ice. Also the quitest tyre ive had, far better than dueler hts vehicle came fitted with. Ive owned toyo, dunlop, and yokohamas both AT and HT but these michelins are by far the best
half way round australia – I have fitted a set or LTX force to my Jeep Compass Trailhawk. It was a 18500 km trip, 3 .5 moths From Melbourne to Perth, Broom, Cape Leveque, Gibb River rd, Mitchell falls, El Questro, Bungle Bungle, Woolf creek Crater, Katherine, Mount Isa, Birdsville, Maree, Melbourne. Never had a flat. Some of the ruffest roads, hundreds of km of corigation,… Read more
sand dunes, bulldust. Everything you can imagine. The tyers preform fantastically. Sometime it took us 4 hour to do 32 km. Also the tyres were very quiet on made roads. So I highly recommend the LTX force tyres for outback Australia.
Excellent A/T tires – I am living in Thailand. There is a few review and feedback here. I have bought a set of 4 tyres (265/70R16) fitted in Chevrolet Colorado (C-Cab LT 3.0 AT Z71 model 2005) in August 2018 with a cheapest tyres I ever bought to replaced BF KO2. I figured these a set of tyres is quiet, smooth ride, high corner grip, good stability control in bot… Read more
dry and wet surface or concrete and bitumen road.
For now, 27/9/2019, I have used is for more than 45,000 km with first 5000 km, and the next each 10,000 km tyre rotation and balancing. I fell tyre surface still soft, rounded, even wear, and easy to balanced.
I hope this set will be used exceed 80,000 km.
I will purchase the new set again.

Exceeding expectations – So far I've only travelled 5000km on them, original tyres on my 2017 Navara STX were Toyo Open Country, wet road handing and water dispersion are excellent, I can feel a definite difference in overall handing, noise levels are up marginally at highway speeds but the difference is negligible. Fuel consumption has increase by around 0.5L/100KM. In a nutshell, a great tyre and at $274 a corner for 265/60R18 very good value. Show details
As others said - quiet and good feel – I got a set of these for my 2011 Triton after seeing other reviews suggesting these made for quiet running and good handling. That's exactly what I would say after running them for a month. They also seem 'soft' (but in a positive way) although that might be because the original tyres I had were fat and worn. Well done Michelin. My only beef… Read more
with them is that they had a promotion for a chance to go to a Grand Prix - then said I was not eligible because I bought them through Bob Jane. Shame on you Michelin for that, but your tyres are great.
Great tyre – I’ve got a set of the Michelin LTX Force in 265/65/17 fitted to my Amarok. I’ve had them on for around 20,000km so far. These tyres have been great. I’ve been everywhere with them, ie. Oodnadatta Track, High Country, Arnhem Land, Lerderderg State Park, Loveday 4X4 Park etc. Quiet and smooth on road, nice and grippy on wet roads, no punctures, very… Read more
minimal chipping and they go great off road. I usually drop them down to around 28psi and you can tackle anything. In my experience with these tyres you don’t need a heavy and aggressive LT AT tyre which comes with increased fuel economy and more noise on road. Get a set of these to take you everywhere.
Greatly improved our Rangers ride and handling – Purchased these for our 2013 Ranger with 97000 klms on it and has made a whole world of difference to the utes ride and handling and is much quieter , highly recommend the LTX Force Show details
So far so superb! – I’ve only done the first 1000km on them and hence can’t comment much on their durability and handling in other weather conditions but the general handling and quietness compared to the price is surely a jackpot. They’re soft, quiet and superb in handling corners and appear to have the capability of ‘pinching’ the tarmac. Still yet to try sandy and other terrains... Show details
Awesome look, quite responsive – Haven't had these for too long so can't say much about the durability but seem very good so far. Quite responsive and noise is pretty low. Overall, I'm very impressed with the noise and responsiveness compared to the price. Much better than tyres with similar prices. Nothing wrong with it so far. Show details
A Must Consideration – Michelin LTX Force 265/65/17 have been on my Isuzu D max 2013 for 20,000 klms. At first I noticed and was pleasantly surprised by the soft, quiet and comfortable ride compared to all the previous quality 4WD tyres I have had in the past. A much softer tyre so I assumed they would wear much quicker. I have found just the opposite. After 20,000 klms… Read more
I am surprised there is very little wear.
We have had a wet summer season recently and I cant fault them on very wet roads with excellent braking and cornering. I usually drive to the speed limit and I am impressed with the quality of these tyres.
As I use them for our business on farms they are good in the mud although only paddock work. I also have driven them on the beach with excellent results and we tow our 3 ton caravan with no problem at all.
All that Michelin say in describing these tyres I agree with. Prossibly the only problem is, because of the deep tread they pick up some small stones.
If you are in the market for a 4wd tyre take a look at these tyres, they are so far one of the best tyres I have owned in 30 years of driving. I have a couple of friends who have purchased these tyres as well and they are just as pleased as myself.
Update: I have now had these tyres on for approximately 30,000 klms and hardly any wear. For the last 10,000 klms I have been working away in the country 2 hrs drive from home. A mixture of winding and reasonably straight roads. For the last few weeks I have been driving home in very wet and at times heavy rain. I am so impressed with the handling of these tyres in the wet. There is really is not much difference between driving on a dry road or a wet road. I have in my previous preview stated how smooth and soft a tyre they are. So impressed I will be buying again.
Brand New Series Tyres – Purchased a Brand New set of Michelin LTX Force. Tyres visually appear better in real life than in the photos. Deep Tread with large voids. I'm hoping they live up to expectation. A great tyre that sits between H/T and a A/T, but more on the A/T side with slightly agressive tread pattern. Tested the tyres while towing an empty trailer in wet… Read more
weather. Really impressed how the tyres dissapates water on the road, excellent low level road noise similar to the stock Dunlop AT20s.
Traction in the wet is fantastic, much better than the stock Dunlop AT20s.
Gravel roads, Michelin LTX Force far superior than the Dunlop AT20s which had a tendency to drift. Stone collection in the tyres clear out really well once you return to the tarmac.
Really impressed – Replaced Bridgestone A/Ts on my D22 Navara (after only 40 000kms) with the Michelins (actually LTX Force). After 3000 odd kms these tyres have been really impressive. Much less road noise, much better grip when cornering in the wet and have kept pressure consistently. Fitted for $250 each (265/75 R16) - so far, couldn't be happier! My father-in-law got over 90 000kms out of his Michelins on a BT-50 so I'm hoping longevity will be good too. Show details

Great tyre – Great performance all round, quiet on road too the bridgestones I had previously wore quickly and were noisy. Grip appears to be alot thicker and probably will mean longer wear and grip in mud and dirt. Got a great deal on these at costco with the $100 off Michelin deal. Show details
164,00 klms. on a '99 LandRover Discovery Td5. A lot of that towing an 18 Ft. or a 20Ft van – Why would I buy anything else? Never had a puncture in 164,00 klms. Good on the road, not noisy. Very good crawling around in rough country. Not so good in mud but still better than a highway tyre. I sold the vehicle with 164,000 Klms on the rear tyres & they still had 4mm of rubber left. It looks as if Michelin Aust. are no longer importing them.… Read more
Update; the tyres are still imported but here in Oz we are at the bottom of the list when it comes to Michelin's export quotas. The bulk of them go to Europe & the U.S.A. I imagine. Here they can be very hard to come by at times. I ordered some and 6 months later they were still not available & Michelin (Aust.) didn't seem to be very interested. The dealer was embarrassed about the whole issue. Very low operating cost.
Replacing my michelins after 162,000 kms – After my last review I am replacing the Michelins on my courier after 162,000 kms, still haven't had a puncture, ( just about worn out ).I am putting the michelins back on,I noticed in one of the reviews the price they were quoted, jax tyres in launceston, tas are $243.00 fitted for the 265/70/15's. Happy motoring. Show details
A 140000+km ATR – Michelin don't cooperate with a lot of the 4WD mags, and that's about the only reason I can think why their LTX ATR's don't get mentioned a lot more often. My 265/70/15 Michelin's came with the 2006 Mazda Bravo I brought new and I've just replaced them after they hit 136,000kms. Yep, that's a 1 in front of the 36,000. Could have squeezed… Read more
another 5,000-10,000 out of them, but opted to keep 2 for extra spares next time I head north. I live 3km's along an unsealed road and about 20% driving would be dirt roads in and around the NSW mid north coast and I do a lot of beach driving. Most of the rest is on the Pacific Hwy and local roads. These tyres also come with a LT 112 load rating, which makes them stronger than Coopers and much stronger than most of the rest 140,000km mileage, quiet and very strong. Only one minor con is the slight bulgy shaping (great for sand) but could make sidewalls a bit more vulnerable.
2006 Toyota Hilux 80,000Klms and they are only half worn. 265/70 R15 112S – fits standard SR5 Wheels – I have tried BFG, Bridgestone’s and Coopers but nothing comes close to the Michelin LTX A/T’s. The BFG’s A/T were simply dangerous on damp roads, the Coopers (If you can find ROUND ones) just don’t last like the Bull#### warranty they offer but the Michelin LTX A/T is such an awesome all-round tyre that just lasts and lasts. I have been all the… Read more · 1
way up to the tip of Cape York and Lawn Hill National park on some of the toughest roads plus I use this vehicle as my work truck so it constantly has 800kgs in the back. You just feel so confident on all road conditions with these tyres – but most importantly you don’t have in the back of your mind that when fully loaded on a hot day doing hi-way speeds in the NT that your tyres will blow. Michelin LTX A/T is simply the best A/T tyre you can buy. Read this review Michelin Australia – you need to keep making this tyre!!! Confident on all road conditions but somehow won’t wear out and the rubber is not dangerously hard Michelin is looking at stopping manufacturing
Good – The best tyre i have owned to date and tempted to go back for another set even at the High price tag... Would like to try a cheaper brand just to compare though! Had them on a Ford Courier since new, about 2007 and i'm up to 135000klms! Have heard the newer series in the same tyre wont last as long, but i am tempted to go back for another set,… Read more · 1
except for the price tag of about $360! I am doing my research but finding it hard to find tryes in my size of 265 70 15's. Maxxis have very good reviews and Mickey Thomson for the same price roughly as the michelens... The michelens were very good in all situations as i am offroad in paddocks, dirt roads and bitumen for my earthmoving business. Didnt try sand however! Had a few punctures, but then what tyre doesnt if u drive over a screws nails etc....
Excellent – Awesome tyres that have handled everything i throw at them. would buy them always if they weren't so expensive. Been on my Bravo since new, done 100,000kms. towed a 1 ton trailer for about 50,000ks. 3 Puntures all on passenger side rear. ( 1 was a 5" knife, rest were nails off the job site). had a price to replace them for $460 each
Good – These tyres handle well in the wet dry on and offroad are not very noisy on the highway and are resistent to punctures. They also resist round on the edges of the tyres on larger cars. Handle great in any condition, these are fitted to a nissan patrol and are some of the best all terrain tyres i have driven on for on/offroad use. They dont last as long as Michelin and the tyre dealer said they would. Show reply
