If you want a machine with a short cord that doesn't extend very far this is one to buy. Everyone rating this as a rubbish machine is right. The cord constantly comes away from the nozzle during even the shortest clean. It doesn't pick up well and for the price, it is totally not worth it. I even called Miele to see what they could do. What a waste of time that was. Care factor zero. And they can't not have had other calls about this product. Such a contrast to other items I have bought from Miele which have been outstanding. Don't go near this product as it is really poor.

Purchased in at The Good Guys for $500.

I chose this vacuum because it was highly recommended by Choice Magazine and I am so happy with it. Easy to put together, clicks together so nicely. So easy to empty. Great suction on my tiled floor. 4 speed settings; the lower ones are great for my wool carpet. It's an attractive, classy little unit.

Follow-up  · A year later it is still working well. I have discovered it is very important to clean the filter to maintain its excellent performance. This is not hard to do but it does take 24 hours to dry out the sponge filter. Once it lost power - based on my research believe this was because it was due to overheating ... I live in a subtropical climate. After a short rest it started again and has worked well since.

Purchased in at Appliances Online for $499.

Not a good experience unfortunately – Very dissapointed with this vacuum. Not sure if I just got a dud model, however it just doesn't pickup things well. When cleaning carpet, it struggles to suck up hair (human hair) and instead just rolls it up into a ball (see video). This is extremely frustrating as I live with 3 females and have 4-rooms to vacuum. I purchased the XL parquet twister head for our hard floors which works fine for general dust and small particles, however for some reason it struggles to pickup slightly larger things, e.g. pepper corns from the kitchen floor. I can't quite tell if it's a design flaw or there's an underlying issue with the vacuum sucking power itself.

I've cleaned all the filters and double checked everything I can for blockages. No change.

As you can imagine, vacuuming is now an even more frustrating activity. I'll try returning this vacuum to Bing Lee, however as there's no obvious fault I'm not expecting a resolution.

On the flip side, I do like the design. It's easy to manouvre and it's simple to empty and clean the filter. It's just not very good at its core function.

Update: Miele did reach out to me asking for my contact details (which I provided), however it's been 2-weeks now and no further contact has been made, even after I followed up again.

Purchased in at Bing Lee Physical store for $430.

Very bad – Useless piece of junk. The hose section that connects to the unit keeps falling off. Very poor design and in my view I have no idea how on hell that got passed R&D. They should do a general recall on the useless piece of junk. Miele should be embarrassed by this piece of utter garbage. Sent email about it. Bought 26/10/2023 and it lasted 1 minute before the hose fell off.

You only have to pull on it a bit when cleaning and it falls off.

One would have thought the morons at Miele for not having a screw in hose which then locks in would have been a better way to go.

I'd like to give it zero stars if I could.

If there is ever a class action law suit against this company for making rubbish products please let me know.

They used to be the best brand out there now they've gone the cheap option suckering everyone in and they'll lose customers for the rest of time and I half suspect they'll eventually go under.

Good will gone for good.

Miele Boost CX1 Bagless Vacuum Cleaner – This was on special for $379 down by $100 and needed one. I bought it as it was bagless and Miele are suppose to be a great brand. Its poorly designed. The hose has to be connected to the unit. Why on earth did they do that. If you knock the unit while pulling it along and the part that gets knocked is near that hose connection then the hose part falls off and then you have to re attach it. Its complete and utter stupidity by Miele which is suppose to be a good reliable brand name.

Someone in R&D should have at least tested it out before giving it the OK to go ahead for production.

Vacuum cleaning on the carpet is a horror story. Yes the suction is great but pushing it on the carpet is very hard on the arms. If you are old do not buy it you'll strain your arms and shoulders. The only way to use it on carpet is to lift it up and then pull it towards you not push as it grips far to hard. I strained my shoulders pushing it.

Again why no one thought of testing it on a normal carpet before going out to production.

It needs better wheels on the base of it so it can move over the carpet without pushing so hard that it gets stuck in the carpet due to the extreme suction.

Over tiles its great and easy to move but carpet its a disaster story and will lead to injuries and possible law suits.

Miele needs to recall these. Its not good enough.
