A very robust machine – We purchased this ironing system last year and have been absolutely amazed at its performance. The build quality is excellent and the design allows it to be compacted to be moved around or stored. The steam especially is amazing and we can really feel that the garments we iron retain their luster with no iron marks. For more delicate clothes you don't even need to put the plate on the garment as the strong steam is enough. A well-loved purchase. Show details

purchase, I was also looking at the equivalent Laurastar, but then when I personally attended the Laurastar showroom for a demonstration bringing a wrinkled garment and requested to try the iron out, I smelled a rat when the demonstrator baulked. The expectation was to be dazzled by all the sales lines and pre-organised "ironing show" but reluctance to let me do my own test run. The quality and features may have been left wanting but when the sales lady threw in some very unprofessional comments about her colleagues, I was out of there along with my money.

How different the experience was at the Miele showroom! A genuinely friendly lady who did her best to help, she answered all my questions, provided me with information I wanted on the features simply and efficiently, and she left me to look, feel and use the iron. A consummate professional who knew the product and did not have to resort to any sales gimmicks, it wouldn't have aligned with her sincerity.

I actually bought the predecessor, the FashionMaster B2847. When I experienced a couple minor issues with that one and rang Miele for information, they promptly offered to send a repairer over to my home and rectify. As it suited my personal circumstances to instead bring the appliance in to the repair centre, I did so and was respectfully attended to. Another issue surfaced shortly afterwards and upon another visit, without my requesting so, the Miele workshop attendant seized my iron station and apologised that it would need to be replaced!!! I was astounded. And I was upgraded. I didn't even ask!

The brand new FashionMaster B3847 was personally delivered to my home within days, and the deliveryman offered to unbox and install for me but I politely declined and was happy to just accept the box and do it myself.

When using my Miele appliances, I still sometimes think about the Miele company and how it truly does stand behind brand quality for its customers and I will always be a loyal Miele customer for how they helped me with some warranty issues for 2 appliances. They had a consumer advocate working within the company phone me and organise everything! It was trouble-free and so fast! If only other companies understand the importance of customer satisfaction when it comes to expensive purchases: consumers like me are happy to pay for product excellence: quality, design and respectful professional customer relations if and when things might go wrong. It's not just clinching the sale in most cases, it's how a company deals with the other end of the transaction in its after sales service which sets a quality company apart and I have happily sung Miele's praises to countless friends and associates for this fact.
