I purchased all Miele appliances for my new home in 2019 and recommend Miele to friends and family. I experienced building delays so install from unopened boxes has only been 2 years. First the dryer went (main board) then the washing machine seal, my dishwasher was experiencing intermittent power off through a cycle, now power won’t turn on at… Read more
all indicating a control or power cord filter failure . No error messages. Checked switch board and confirmed power issue is isolated to the dishwasher. I’ve used the dishwasher about 60 times and is still as new. I’ve spent a fortune on Miele repairs with long waits, as I’m in regional Vic. My Miele appliances have had minimal use. I’m doubting Miele quality and not sure if I continue replacing my Miele products with Miele as I’ve lost confidence in the products to last more than 5 years of use.
First Miele = last Miele – Like many here that have left low star reviews, I also haven't had the best time with my first Miele experience. I too believed the brand hype & expected a quality product to last longer than an appliance half the price. We started having issues 6 years in, in the last 2 years we've had service technicians to look at it & replace parts 3 times -… Read more
the last time we were told the fix was a short term solution, & the next time it failed we should consider replacing the machine rather than spend more money on it.
So here we are with yet another F70 error & the bandaids that worked previously are no longer doing it, & we are now again looking for a new dishwasher - probably *not* another Miele, given its lasted less than 8 years (hard to fathom when the expectation is closer to double that).
Before posting this review we received the auto generated 'mediation' response from Miele, we replied to that with more detail & have not heard back from them (at all), so with a dead dishwasher & now hand washing dishes we have decided to just get another one (the Whirlpool WDFS3R4NIXAU looks good) rather than wait any longer for any kind of solution from Miele.
Poor build quality. Poor customer service. Don't believe the hype.
F78 error – Update: Miele did show up to the party! I'm reasonably happy with the product (except for the rusting of tray). I just bought another Miele appliance (heat pump dryer) due to their proven commitment on support and warranty. *********** This dishwasher came with the house we bought 2 years ago. 2 weeks ago, started playing up with an f78 error, run… Read more
a few times intermittently until it stopped for good. Called in a Miele techie, replaced a heat sensor for $150 plus labour, totalling $403. Tested and left, run 1x then boom! Another f78. Technician coming tomorrow....
Not living up to expectations – UPDATE: Miele replaced this dishwasher with a new one, free of charge. Thank you Miele. Bought September 2017. Gets used about 3x a week with rinsed dishes. Drainpump needed replacing within 4 years. Then 6 months later eco-cycle stopped working. Miele shrugged their shoulders as they hadn't come across it before and told me to just use other cycles. Not happy as I paid for a quality machine and expect it to do better. Show details
Broken Down Twice in 5 Years – This dishwasher has not lived up to expectations. It was purchased in March 2017 and required a repair in Feb 2022 due to fault F24. It was out of warranty and it was expensive to have the Miele technician come out to fix it (over $330). In August 2022 less than 6 months later it stopped working again due to fault F70 and was leaking all over… Read more
the floor. Unfortunately we couldn't wait for more than 3 weeks for the Miele repair man to come to assess it. According to an experienced repair man who previously worked for Miele it was not worth trying to find out why or where it was leaking. We decided to get rid of it and buy a new Beko dishwasher which is much cheaper than Miele and has a 5 year warranty. Miele contacted me to say they would refund the previous repair cost which is better than nothing but given the dishwasher was originally $1400 it is very disappointing that it only lasted 5 years and broke down twice in that time.
F24 followed by F78 after F24 fixed – Bought in 2016. Used Master Appliances to look at F24 problem in mid March 2022. Went away while to part on order - dishwasher worked once but then stopped with F78. On subsequent attempts it stopped with F24. Part replaced 3rd May - worked once for deep clean and once for normal use - stopped 4th May F78. We've now spent about $480 for one load of dishes - NOT HAPPY. Show details
A great wash but too unreliable. Very disappointed with Miele service. - Updated – Update June 2022 - Miele arranged for a technician to attend at no cost and replace the faulty relay. They also provided some consumables free of charge. I'm annoyed that it took so long to get the machine working again but am appreciative that they addressed these issues out of warranty. Original post The dishwasher is great when it works. … Read more
Quiet and very good cleaning results. Unfortunately every time it rains I get an F24 error (as many others have reported) that doesn't clear for a few days. The machine is unusable during this time. Had a technician attend, but because this took a week, the fault had cleared in the meantime and they said there was nothing they could do. Expensive and frustrating. Given how common this error seems to be in reasonably new machines (mine started getting the error after 4 years, 5 now) it is very disappointing given the cost of the machine.
When I wrote this review I was offered mediation with a Miele representative. I was asked for contact details but heard nothing further. Even more dissapointing. I downgraded my review from two stars to one because of this.
Failed at 5 years old. VERY expensive service fees. Apparently "Tested to the equivalent of 20 years"? – Excellent machine when it's working. Which unfortunately, it no longer is. Will no longer fill with water so cannot initiate the wash cycle. Followed all the steps to check/clean the inlet filter (it's spotless, we have soft filtered water and excellent water pressure) and the drain pump/non-return valve but no dice. Almost unbelievable how… Read more
expensive the service/repair fees are. No option available for me to deliver the machine to a service centre for assessment instead.
I guess 'they don't make 'em like they used to' is just the accepted standard these days.
I hate to say it and it goes against everything I stand for in terms of not creating excessive waste and the 'throwaway society that never repairs anything' mentality that I rail against, but it really seems like there's no reason to buy a 'high end' appliance any more - it works out cheaper to buy $350-$500 dishwashers and just throw them away every few years. I mean...guess what's going to happen to this MUCH more expensive machine should it end up not viable for repair? Yep, it'll join all those other cheap failed appliances at the tip.
Interestingly many of those 'cheap' machines offer a 3 year warranty compared to Miele's 2 years (which wouldn't pass muster under Australian consumer law anyway, given there are expectations that something like an expensive appliance needs to last a 'reasonable' period of time without needing major repairs or replacement).
Immer besser? Fraglich.

Known Product Fault – Shortly after the warranty period expired this dishwasher displayed a F24 error (faulty heater relay). Cost to have a Miele technician visit is $179 plus $35 per 15 minutes in attendance plus the part $123. Miele parts are generally far more expensive than other brands. So around $450 all up. dishwashers if you wish to go down that path and seek restitution. What is most annoying is that this manufacturing fault (caused my moisture) is known to Miele yet they still released this product to the market. You’re better off buying a $500 brand elsewhere and hopefully getting 5 years out of it than buying this junk. A shame that the once proud reputation for quality enjoyed by Miele is now so badly tarnished by products such as this. Unfortunately I couldn’t give this model zero stars.

Waste of money – Dishwasher was great until it ceased working near the 3 year mark. For a supposed premium product at a premium price I would expect it to last more than just under 3 years. No service or help of course as warranty provided is only 2 years. Have read many other reviews and comments about the F78 error that is common place with this machine. Not… Read more
worth the price of repair. No more Miele for me. Update 31/10/20 Miele have now repaired my dishwasher at no cost. Very happy with the service provided and good to see a company actually backing their products. Still disappointed though that it took a bad review to get an outcome.

Bit of a dud really – Bought about four years ago. Warranty period had just expired and got a F24 error code. The company fixed it under warranty which was good, but now its back again. My wife really wanted to get a Miele as some of her friends had them, but wont be recommending them myself. Expected better reliability from a premium brand.

Miele Quality – The dishwasher we inherited with the house was noisy, didn't wash well and was in poor condition. When Miele had a sale, we decided it was time to see what they had to offer, as our previous experience with a Miele dishwasher was great. The G4920SCU looks good, runs very quietly and is efficient. Would recommend Miele to anyone. Show details
Absolutely Brilliant. Cant Live without it! – Fast efficient integrated dishwasher than cleans plates and cooking utensils and cutlery absolutely perfectly and without any residues or missed spots that sometimes occurs with other built under dish washing machines. Easy to load and unload and easy to set and forget while you relax after a dinner event and rest assured everything will be sparkly clean! Show details

Know better, choose better.
Quiet and clean – Dishes comes out so clean that I couldn't be happier. I always use to wash with hands but since I got this it's a breeze. The cycles are good but wish it had bit more of it like quick ones. All porcelain and stainless steel items come out amazingly clean but with all the aluminium or anodised pans not so clean. I use a lot of fat and spices in my… Read more
food and it still cleans up.
It's so quiet too - hardly notice it. It also signals when to refill rinse aid. The user guide booklet is quite informative
The cutlery tray is awesome too. Since mine is semi integrated it looks very stylish. So far happy customer
Miele Diswasher best ever had – Completes all types of wash cycles very well. Especially good for the gentle cycle on fine bone china, that is gentle enough but still removes all grime. Very good cleaning of those hard-to-do Casserole Dishes, even with burnt edges over-spill.. Operates very quiet and reliable. All pipework is good quality and no leaks (but still must use plumbers tape for reliable water-seal of course) Show details
Great machine and very quiet – Excellent machine, very quiet and cleans very well. I like the cutlery tray, the stainless steel and the quality of the machine is very good. Water efficient and lots of different cycles to choose. Miele is a quality brand with german excellence. best machine I have had to date. I recommend this machine to others. Show details
So much better! – It's quiet. Really quiet. Like - "is it working?" quiet. Yet cleans like there's an army of washer warriors in there! Plenty of room and stacking options. Certainly worth the money I paid for it and would strongly recommend it. Seriously give this machine a consideration if you're in the market for a new dishwasher Show details
The only dishwasher to buy – Miele dishwashers quietly clean everything beautifully every time. Dishes and cutlery sparkle and are dry and ready to pack away. No need for dish towel drying. It is the only dishwasher that looks good inside and out. Perfectly designed to get the best advantage regardless of the dishes, pots and pans used. I guess for me one the best features is… Read more
the cutlery tray. Perfect design; quality materials used. No other manufacturer comes close to Miele. Without a doubt 'the BEST '. Have been using Miele products for 20 plus years. Never let me down.
Hasn't missed a beat – Had about a year now and hasn't missed a beat. Excellent cleaning performance, find the sensor wash is the best setting and if the dishes are fairly clean it won't take as long. The racks are great and hold most items really well. Cutlery tray is great and frees up a lot of space on the bottom rack. Installed myself, was fairly easy. It is pretty… Read more
quiet. Only really hear it if we are in the kitchen.
Only criticism would be that the door is quite springy, if you put it all the way down it will come up slightly so I find myself holding it down until I pull the bottom rack out. The door spring is on the lowest tension, so not sure if fault or design. Should probably ring Miele and ask!
I purchased at good guys but in hindsight should have just gone through Miele online, because that is what good guys are essentially doing on your behalf. And you will have to pay them for delivery or pick up from the store, whereas if you order through Miele direct I think delivery is free. Also make sure you look out for the regular promotions Miele runs, a little while after I bought mine it was $200 cheaper... oh well!
Love it! Quiet, cleans well, looks good! – After 7 years of being a Fisher & Paykel advocate, I've now switched to Miele for dishwashers. I've only had my dishwasher for a few days now and I love it! With my old Fisher & Paykel, I had to rinse dishes so well beforehand that it was almost pointless having a dishwasher. Now that's not necessary. I've tried my new machine on both the… Read more
sensor cycle & the quick cycle & both work great! I'll never but anything other than a Miele dishwasher again.
Cleans Dishes Very Well and Quietly – We moved in to our house which had a six year old Bosch dishwasher. After three months the heating element failed and was going to cost around two thirds the cost of a new machine. At our previous house we had a ASKO dish washer which was still going well after six years when we moved to our current home. The ASKO washed well but was quiet noisy… Read more
compared to the Bosch. Both were under bench models.
We considered buying another ASKO dishwasher but decided to look at Miele as research found they have a very good reputation for the quality of their products albeit at a premium price.
To date we are very happy with our Miele dishwasher. It is very quiet (the noise level will vary slightly depending on the load level in the dishwasher) compared to the Bosch and our previous ASKO dishwasher. Our kitchen is open plan so being quiet in operation is essential.
Cleaning of dishes is excellent and on par with the ASKO. They always come out clean and dry. As with all dishwashers there is a technique to loading them.
The separate cutlery tray is fantastic compared to the cutlery basket arrangement in the ASKO and Bosch. The cutlery tray gives extra space to load dishes in the bottom draw where the cutlery basket would normally sit.
I have used both dish washing powder and tablets in the Miele and it works well with either.
We expect to get many years of trouble free service and clean dishes from our Miele dishwasher.
