Great customer service
We have a Miele KM 2012 gas stove top. While we had an issue with the plastic knobs melting given how close the knobs were to the flame, we raised this issue with Miele and they sent us out stainless steel replacement. Very happy with the product now.Very disappointed
The cook top ignition failed very quickly, the devise is difficult to clean. The worst feature is the plastic knobs which have failed. For what is considered to be a premier brand it is disappointing that miele's appliances are such poor quality.Extremely poor quality, burners too close together
Miele should be embarrassed by this product. It's extremely poor quality and not functional. The knobs on the front of the stove have melted due to 1. light plastic and poor quality knobs and 2. the large and medium burners are very close to the edge so standard-sized saucepans and frying pans extend over the control panel. The burners are very close together so it's not possible to cook with four medium-sized cooking pots at the same time. The cooktop is also very difficult to clean.
Great stove
We had an issue with the knobs but spoke to Miele customer service about it and they sent out a technician to assess it and then replaced them free of charge. Very happy with their customer service. Show details · 1Miele KM 2012 - Stains easily making cleaning a chore after every cook
Background, we bought this cooktop 3 months ago. Cooking is often messy. Our previous cooktop in this unit and the unit we rented interstate prior to moving back into our home were easy to clean. Make a mess. Wipe it down with a wet cloth and done. We could even do it the next day with ease. This Miele cooktop is A LOT of work. It certainly is not stainless steel as we are accustom for many years. By A LOT I mean we have to use a special cleaner sent to us by Miele after we reported this issue to them. So we use this cleaner and a speci... Read more
al cloth. This is by no means easy. If you clean just the bit where the stain from cooking is located, it changes the appearance of that section so you then have to use it on the entire cook top so it looks the same. Even then, there can still be faint traces of the stains. We have to do this after EVERY single cook. It's getting to the point where we do not want to cook or are taking extra precautions to avoid spills. Consequently, cooking is not fun. We like the rest of the cooktop but are now looking into ways to replace this because the additional cleaning work required to maintain this cooktop is FAR too much.UPDATE: #Miele response to this via email is to point to the user manual. This boilerplate response DOES NOT address the design flaw of this product requiring the user wipe down a spill THEN do a deep... Read more
clean with a special product after EVERY cook. Based on the customer service we received, we are now downgrading this rating from 2 to 1 star. TLDR; Miele SOLD an inferior product requiring additional To give you an idea how much of a headache this product is to clean, we spent a good chunk of money on it. They are not going to fix or replace it. The cleaning headache is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO bad, we are going to trash this as soon as we get the money to buy another product from another company. I cannot say that I have ever made such a decision about such an expensive product in my life previously. Not the quality I would expect from miele
Quality of the knobs is sub standard, not an easy cooktop to clean. Ignitor stopped working 2 months ago and markings around dials have all but disappeared with little cleaning.Disappointed owner Show details
Fantastic cooktop!
I got this installed a couple days ago and haven’t found any problems. I am surprised by the negative reviews. The big burner is great for cooking pasta on full flame, otherwise I generally will use it at half to low heat.
The flame ignites very quickly on all the burners.
Overall, so far I am very happy Show details
Not worth the money we paid for Miele Quality - deteriorated from their previous prestigious brand name
We have not been happy at all with our stove, the wok burner struggles to ignite, we needed to blow on the gas to get it to ignite most of the time. Difficult to clean in the inner sections of the top plate. The knobs are too close to the cookers, the quality of the knobs are cheap for a $1200 stove.More recently, in the past 2 yrs the ignition starter stopped intermittently and would need to hold down the starter for some time to get a spark, now its stopped all together and we are using a hand lighter to start a $1200 Miele gas stove only a ... Read morefew yrs old. Very disappointed with Miele quality and the price - would not recommend Miele anymore - it used to be good, but now you are not getting your value for money. Warranty period only 2 yrs, after that expensive service calls to fix a fault of Miele. Even our new Dishwasher top plastic coated rack has started rusting, after 2 yrs, that cost us $2200.... they have apparently agreed to replace the rack, but due to covid we may never see what they promised.

Very difficult to clean. It is 7 years old and the black writing around the knobs is disappearing. The wok burner is too powerful, you have to be careful when you turn it on. I have an old Fisher & Paykel in my holiday house and it is a dream to wipe down. Not impressed with their oven either and it only came with one rack and a tray. Cost approx. $100 for another rack. The cavity is small and I often burn myself getting food out of it. As a serviceman told me many years ago "buy top of the range on a cheaper brand than bottom of the range on an expensive brand". Unfortunately the Miele cooktop and oven came with the house when we bought it.Hi, please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience of the matter. The big burner is not designed well because the igniter is far away from the centre. Every time I ignite it I can smell a strong smell of gas and sometimes very hard to ignite successfully(Should try many times). However, service staff claimed that is not product failure or setting error, means I pay $200 but slove nothing. It also not powerful enough.Although the official website indicated that the big burner is 4kw, it performs like 3.5W.
The black stain mentioned by other people also happened in my one Show details

After a few weeks dark stains appeared on the burners.I went to Miele and was told to buy their special cleaner gel. It didn't work.
Had some trouble with the burners too.
Overall, very upset with this purchase. Not the quality expected from any decent manufacturer, let alone Miele.

Good cooktop - very efficient and reliable
I've had a Miele KM 2012 G for 4 years and it's never missed a beat. I can't understand how people have burnt the knobs. I've never ben anywhere near doing that. The only thing I would say is that the wok burner would be better if it had some way of turning off one of the two flame rings - even on the lowest setting it's quite hot.Show details · 1
Generic knob replacement for overpriced Meile hob knob?
2 plastic hob knobs have melted-ones on left closest to the hottest burner. Just normal use. A design flaw. But it sounds like Miele will make pay $32 for each replacement knob. Maybe more now. Is there a generic alternative?Should be $2 tops!
Otherwise happy though a way to get scratches out would be handy.

Burners giving trouble after 3 years
One burner is hard to light and keep lit, and the wok burner seems to be losing pressure, I've checked it's clean and without obstruction so I can rule that out. The old gas stoves used to last for years - the new ones, like this Miele KM 2012 G, not so. On the upside, trivits are quality. Would I buy again - no.Show details
Miele Gas Hob & Extractor Fan
Just after the first year we had to have two knobs replaced, two right hand burners because of faulty castings and the filter on the extractor fan. The service engineer dropped the new filter onto the gas hob and damaged the filter which was then fitted in a damaged state and has whistled loudly ever since. We asked that he should fit an undamaged filter but he said he would not. During the following two or three years all of the plastic knobs have broken, the silk screen printing on the front has worn off and one of the burner won't light... Read more. Miele are only prepared to replace the plastic knobs with more rubbish plastic knobs and only at a cost will they replace them with the new stainless steel variety. They refuse to rectify any of the other problems unless we pay dearly for it, having already paid dearly for it in the first place. Their advertising is false advertising because our experience of Miele products would not last five years let alone the twenty which the ad tells us they are supposed to last. If anyone else has found their product to be faulty, please contact us as we intend to go to Current Affair to see if others are so affected.Questions & Answers
Is there a reset button for my Miele km 2012 g?
Ants got inside the jets and now the flame max is only a fraction of the original output on two burners. How do you safely clear upstream of the burner jets.
