Failures on all levels. Avoid at all cost – The worst cooktop money can buy. Issues with knobs, ignition, regularity of flame, usability.. seriously whoever signed off on that product should be banned from ever designing consumer goods. Failures on all levels. These brand name centric appliance manufactures have gotten too lazy and comfortable, focusing on selling an image of a product, as… Read more

opposed to a functional one. Avoid at all cost. In fact this is my experience will all miele products to date.

Great Cooktop – This cooktop was installed in an apartment we purchased off the plan. I think it is a great product and have never had a problem with it - either the knobs, the cleaning or the cast iron trivets. Miele produce very good products and I would purchase again. A great cooktop.  Show details

Those cheap hot plate knobs.....every few months I have replaced at least one of them – hot plate ok so far. sparks does not always work well and those knobs. absolute cheap. I have replaced them many times, a total of 18 knobs. I replaced one knob, then I replaced another knob

Pan supports very disappointing – Considering the cost of Miele products you would expect all components to be top quality - cooktop cooks well and use two cloths (one wet and one dry) to clean surface after use which makes it easy to keep clean - but the pan supports are disappointing as the stains do not come off which makes the appliance look older than it is - ours is only 2… Read more

months old - Miele really needs to improve this aspect of its appliance as it is a very visible component of the appliance How impressive it looked when it was installed Permanent stains on pan supports

Terrible – We are so disappointed we are up to our third set of hobs as they discolour very quickly and are impossible to clean. A waste of money. Very disappointed we will replace it as soon as we can hard to believe they pride themselves on quality. It is a piece of junk. The oven is excellent Hobs impossible to clean looks terrible after a short time

Poor quality knobs and hard to keep clean – I agree with another reviewer who complained that you have to clean the hob every time it is used and yes it is a pain. I also have a problem with breaking knobs after less than one year. First phone call to Miele I was told they would send out new knobs, they never arrived. Second phone call I was told it was probably my fault they were… Read more

breaking????? Apparently I have the flame too high but as the knobs are not near the flame I don't see how that could happen. I was also quoted A$47.35 each for metal knobs. It is very disappointing that for an expensive product they attach such obvioulsy cheap knobs. All my appliances are Miele and I would not recommend them or buy them again.

Expensive, poor quality knobs, can not purchase in a sale - Miele set the price (anti-competition?)

Terrible – Terrible quality which I was never expected from Miele . Burn marks will show all over it just after first use and you would never be able to clean it again . Cheap quality burner has been used . only looks good for a few hours after instalation ,as soon as you use it for the first time it looks terrible for ever poor quality , can`t keep it clean .Even if you use all different cleaning stuff can`t get rid of discoloration .

Terrible – I am going to have it removed as soon as I can and replaced by something more user friendly. Don't the designers ever try out their equipment? Did they not try cooking on it and then cleaning? Absolutely nothing It is impossible to keep clean - I have resorted to covering parts with a tea towel to try to reduce cleaning. Everytime I cook… Read more

anything, even if on only one burner, I have to clean the whole hob. This requires removing all the metal pieces, which are difficult to clean, and washing the ceramic which then requires polishing to make it look clean. I moved into a brand new apartment and miss my 8 year old hob in the last house.

Update to original review – This cooktop is a pain to keep clean but worst of all is the time it takes for the temperature to get up and overide the safety cut out before releasing the knob on several burners. The manual say 8-10 seconds. Actual time is over 1 minute on the small burner and around 30 seconds on several others. Worse when in cooler temperatures. 8 years… Read more

later.

This problem was dealt with while under warranty and is no longer a problem. Will add that 4 knobs have broken during this time which are quite cheap to buy and replace.

Cleaning- well always shows marks/smears when cleaned with a sponge but a follow up with Windex does clean nicely.

The hob has served us well through this time since being adjusted. Looks good when clean [censored word removed] safety cut outs. Pain to keep clean

Looks good and burners work very well – I have this Miele cooktop for over a year now and I really do enjoying cooking on it. As some of the other reviewers have mentioned, it does show up the little splatters etc. after cooking which can necessitate a clean up after use. But I also had to do that with my old white cooktop, then my stainless steel cooktop, so there is nothing out of… Read more ·  1

the ordinary with this cooktop for me.

I have not had any problems with the knobs breaking but it does take a bit of practice to get used to turning them on.

The cast iron trivets are easily removed for cleaning.

I am happy that each hot plate has great heat control. You can increase or lower the burner power easily.

As for cleaning, I use Cerapol Ceramic Glass Cooktop cleaner and Ceraseal Ceramic Glass Cooktop protector which bring the black ceramic service back to a beautiful sheen. These products are available at Bunnings or large appliance retailers. They work well.

I have owned a white cooktop, a stainless steel cooktop and now this Miele ceramic cooktop and I wouldn't trade the Miele for anything. Dependable, looks good and works well Requires fairly constant cleaning
