Best vacuum we've owned – We bought this vacuum cleaner about six years ago, and it's excellent. I really like the filter bags, even though a little more expensive they are so tidy and efficient (and easy to order online!). It has a long wand, long cord, is pretty quiet for a vacuum - especially when comparing to the Dyson, say. Fits under all our furniture easily and… Read more
moves smoothly around corners. When I bought it the sales guy really wanted to sell another brand, but after trying a few in the store this was my pick, and I don't regret it. We have a second vacuum cleaner, but this is my favourite. All you want in a vacuum cleaner, at a reasonable price Nothing at all!
OK – Not a bad machine - excellent with a fresh bag in it - outstanding suction. Once the bag gets to half full suction is significantly reduced but still not too bad - shame it cant maintain full strength suction for a little longer. Would probably look for something else when next buying a vacuum. Strong and adjustable suction No upholstery brush… Read more
and not the best for hard floor - we have a bird and I find the little round seeds that fall from his cage onto our hard floor are difficult to suck up-the vacuum seems to just push them along the floor and the only way to get them is to get in front of them and then pull the head backwards - this always works but is a bit of a nuisance. Bags are expensive @ $22 a box. The hinge on my on-board tools compartment broke after 3 months and now door is a little hard to open.
Good – Overall this vacuum is pretty good. It is comfortable to pull around and the extendable wand helps make it all a bit easier. This unit is pretty quiet, yet remains powerful. It does have a dial so you can control the amount of suction or power you use. The bags a bit expensive to replace compared to other brands. Quiet yet powerful. Extendable wand. Dial-up suction / power control. Expensive bag replacement.
Excellent – Fantastic, I've got the S291 model and it has lasted me about 4yrs so far, purchased after a Zoom bagless one just stopped working one day. I have never had a problem with the miele. As I've started doing some casual cleaning work I tend to take my vacuum so it goes through about a bag a week (one place has a lot of pet hair), still $4/week… Read more
isn't too bad for operation. I did consider getting a bagless but then you have to have the hassle of washing filters all the time and the cheaper models eventually "blow up", the expensive models being too "gadgety". At $300 this miele is very reasonably priced, it's unbelievable quality for the money and it's an improved version of the old barrel vac with bag that has always been so reliable and worked so well.
Plug it in, turn it on, the tools are in a really handy location without being in the way (or falling off the wand etc) and going to carpets and back to hard floors is just a matter of flicking a switch.
I have always done the filter change when I get to the end of the pack of bags, and the filters have never been hugely dirty, so obviously those pricier than normal bags do a great job of keeping the dust in but allowing great suction still until the bag is mostly full. Like I said the only thing broken was a bracket recently that holds the wand on the vacuum for storage.
If this vac gave up the ghost I reckon I would easily look past the gimmicky dysons and grab another miele - it will probably be like Mums old Electrolux which just keeps going and going and won't give you an excuse for a new one! Great Quality, Works Well.
I really like how the attachments click in whereas other brands you could be vacuuming and the head falls off etc. If you have ever worked as a cleaner you will certainly appreciate this feature!! The bags seem to fill up rather quickly if you have a lot of pet hare or carpet fluff and sometimes the suction can suffer before the bag is truly full (but this is explained in the manual anyway). I have thought about emptying the bags and re-using to save on cost but haven't done that yet.
A few times the roller came off the floor nozzle, but it was easily fixed. Recently I broke a piece off the wand storage thingy which means I can't store it upright with want upright as normal.
Well it could be a bit more compact, that's about it.
Excellent – I love it! When I replace bags and filters, I spray a bit of my favourite perfume on them and get a divine fragrance all through the house. When a new bag is put in, you can actually see how powerful this machine is because the carpet lifts up where the head is touching it. If and when I need to replace this vacuum cleaner, I'll certainly go for… Read more
another Meile. Telescopic wand is a blessing. Very powerful suction which can be regulated. Great value for money. Replacement bags a a bit expensive, but come with extra filters.
Excellent – i have had this vacume for a while it is a strong vacume with min noise. the colour is red which is cool fore a vacume. i like the telescopic handel and the attachments, most of all is has out lasted me. i would recomend this vacume to anybody even my eleven and twelve sons can use it with out problem. this is a great vacume its the only one in… Read more
the last twenty year that has lasted me. it sucks well and looks good. i like the idea of changin the bag and filters it helps reducing recycled dust. none at the moment
Excellent – I think it's an affordable vacuum cleaner that is durable and of a ruputable brand. It has alot of thoughtful & useful features and overall it's almost a pleasure to use (I won't say it is cos who finds vacuuming pleasureable?). But certainly I don't dread getting the vacuum out any more! The swiveling hose coming out the top. (last one that came… Read more
out the front of my old vac broke at the join)
I love how the bit where you can park it when you stop briefly during vaccuming so as not to have to drop the wand on the floor.
Parks upright & neatly.
Easily manuvres / follwos around the house without having to heave or really tug it around.
Pretty quiet compared to my old (cyclonic aand bagless) ones.
Enough power to do the job.
The bags that can be closed for desposal are a good feature.
It's red, it goes faster & makes vacuuming more fun (hah I wish). Well the replacement bags could be cheaper. $15 for a box of 5, but they do come with a set of filters. And so far I think it's been a month or so and I haven't filled up the first bag yet.
Good – very nice and quiet vacuum cleaner for around the house. You should try it out and buy one if you like it, but if you don't like it then get a different one. it is very quiet when ever i use it to vacuum my room and even when my brothers and sister use it. i also like the amount of suction it has when i vacuum my my room floor, it basicly pulls up… Read more
the carpet when i use it. the bags are a bit pricey, but it doesn't bother me that much because i really like the vacuum and the bag usually takes a long time to fill up.
