to using a Dyson, which seems to flick dust behind you somehow and decided to find a Miele. I used to love my Dyson but Miele is 100% bette. Instead of vacuuming being a chore and a fight with the vacuum, I actually look forward to it using the Miele s381. Just A Great Vacuum Cleaner!!

July 29th 2019 Update: Love my Miele, Better than Dyson!

Bought this Miele second hand for around $50 and its fabulous! Love my second hand Miele!, This model is so much easier to pull around than my Dyson and the suction is better also!. Yes you need to buy bags but it's 100% worth it I bought a heap filter and genuine Miele bags and the air is cleaner along with the floors compared to my Dyson. Throw out the bag, don't breathe in the dust from emptying the Dyson bagless because no matter how you try to empty the Dyson, dust will always escape, back on the floor around the bin and worst cause, you end up breathing it in.

Excellent – Very happy with this miele. Sturdy build, i have been quite rough with it and it is very sturdy. Best vacuum cleaner I've owned. Sucking power fantastic, even the edges of the floorhead gets sucked in fine. It is easy to maneuver but i do wish it to be a little lighter.  Show details

Very good vacuum. Super Quiet and amazingly good suck – Really good. Read reviews here and decided on this model. Doesn't have a turbo brush head for "pet hair", but so far it seems to get the hair up from our dog, who is particularly bad at shedding clinging black hair. complete new set of filters - so you can easily and economically change all filters and keep any doggy odours out of the machine and your house.

Had a $900 Pull along Barrel Dyson for years, but this is so much lighter, quieter and it manouveres around so easily. So much cheaper too. Godfrey's online $199. Free postage too. Got it in 3 days.

Only thing I would change so far is a longer cord. I love really long cords, but then this is a minor gripe, if searching for something to criticise. The Dyson I have is no longer in that dept, only seen longer cords on Samsung Vac's. Quiet, dial adjustable suck, no stinky dust to get covered in, light.

Great – I haven't had my Miele S 381 very long but it's performing really well so far. It has a lot of settings so I can use it from my carpet to vinyl and tiles. We've had quite a lot of renovations done so I've been vacuuming after all the workmen and their dust and it's definitely coped. Lots of settings - has an econo setting.

The best Vacuum I have ever used – Like Jannus, I returned a Piranha Thor to K-Mart after it continually overheated and increasingly blew the outlet filter off. $100 in hand I walked up the Helensvale Mall to Gadfreys and ordered a Miele 381. 4-bedroom house without changing the bag. I have used hotel built-in systems in previous jobs, but this is the best vacuum I have ever used! Happy to pay $5 a bag for something this good. Excellent suction, big capacity, various settings.

Forever Better – Today I returned the Piranha Thor vacuum to Big W (see my review) and walked across to Retravision, Sunbury. I picked up the Miele S381 and four bags for $250 cash.
