Miele continues their downward spiral – Not worth the money. Miele used to make great product, unfortunately they have steadily gone downhill with their products. My washing machine with it's twindos system really is pretty terrible, Miele customer service has also fallen apart in recent times. The machine has been mostly reliable except for the minor water leaks out of the detergent… Read more

compartment at times.

The twindos system works but has been designed to only really operate on their own detergent... detergent that makes your clothes all turn grey rather quickly. If you spend the extra insane $$ for the plastic refillable containers to use your own, the machine appears to constantly have issues with them, often not dispensing properly, not holding settings and constantly complaining about required maintenance (even when it's been done).

Seriously, save your money, but an LG, Bosch, etc for half the price and get as good or better wash results.

Very disappointing – Extremely disappointed. I have been a loyal Miele customer for 40 years and bought these expensive 9kg washing machine and dryer to make my life much easier to get my huge washing loads through. All they have been are complete nightmares, and added such stress into the laundry. The washing machine never successfully does a 1600 spin, I am… Read more

constantly having to go back to laundry and re-spin it all again. Where it is meant to save us on power bills, by the time I am back in the laundry for the third time trying to get the load through I am sure I am using more energy than anything I am meant to save. Also, my laundry doesn't smell fresh - there is almost a dampness smell to it all.

Do not buy.

I wish I never passed on my old 10+ year old Miele washing machines and dryer to my daughter in law- they were brilliant.

I would sell them in a heartbeat, but all good conscious I cannot pass on these problems to anyone else.

Expensive, is it worth it? – Have it for three years approximately. The biggest issue was smelly laundry after the cycle. The amount of Twin dos liquid was decreased by the serviceman who initially installed machine. The hardness in this area (Brisbane North) is over 200 in German scale. I have to measured it as my expresso machine had some issues. Increased the amount of… Read more

liquid and get better results, what makes Miele liquid very expensive to use, now it is 50ml for the wash. Have to clean machine as per instruction and keep it open. The software part of the machine is not finished product as sometimes the door can not be open, without any info on the screen. Usually have to push start/stop to release the door. Washing results are similar to our previous top-of-the range Bosch and built quality similar. Hope that I will get five years out of it as I purchased additional warranty for it. Do I recommend it? Hmmm

Terrible smell in machine since first use. Can't get rid of it – Problems from first few weeks of using it. A smell that ruins our clothes. tough washes in 1 adult 2 teenage kid household. Carrying out cleaning/hygiene wash at least once every 2 weeks. This includes special cleaning detergent. Miele never solved any of my complaints nor recorded them even though I asked them to. Now my 2 year warranty has expired. I have tried everything they asked and more. I had different reps repeatedly telling me what I should try. Same thing over and over. I finally agreed to get A service call. As soon as he got here he said he couldn't help me Why did Miele advise me to get a service call? Waste of $179 and whole day off work waiting for technician. This system needs the extra warranty if thinking of still buying it . I have a cheap one for sale.

Worst Machine Ever do not buy! – I purchased this to replace my older Miele, I was so disappointed. stop the rattle never heard such rubbish in all my life. I also purchased the tumble dryer to match the machine this did nothing but tangle the clothes so badly. I contacted a online thankfully they took them back and I went to AEG instead. I contacted Miele who were less than helpful advising me to lengthen the programs on the tumble dryer and this would solve the problem which I totally disagree with in my opinion I would never buy another Miele product after-care is shoddy beyond comprehension.

Not a good product – The washing machine was faulty from the start, the drum was hanging on some faulty springs so every time the machine spun it would hit the sides and make a horrible banging sound. only 6 months old and has had errors F0220, F0213, F0212, F0211, which are all related to the DOS unit. Apparently the sensor part is crappy and needs replacing, so weeks of no DOS use and technician comes out to fix it and he's here for half a day, only for the error to return a few days later. Called Miele and apparently they have to order a part from Germany and will take several weeks. No thanks, asked for a full refund and buying a non European brand this time!

Excellent washing machine, saves money in the long run! – I got this machine because clothing is so cheaply made these days ... I've got to make it last the distance! These machines are incredible; the last one lasted 11 years. It washes consistently well, rarely does anything come out dirty. I like the wool wash & the little cartridges you can buy separately, wool smells amazing when it comes out. … Read more

I also purchased the WMV960 WPS PWash&TDos XL Tronic for work (clinic towels etc). This has a 30 min function on it, just like the top of the range one purchased 11 years earlier; this is missing on this WKH model, for unknown reasons (the shortest cycle is 60 minutes - don't count the 20 min freshen up cycle).

Because this is not top of the range, it does not have a light to light up the drum - this seems like a crappy way to encourage customers to get the top model.

The twin-dos is not worth getting, in my opinion. It saves about 10 seconds of handling detergent, but maybe you waste that anyhow programming it each time (which the WMV has- set a favourite program & save)

defintely recommend getting the machines with 'PowerWash' 60 min cycle though - anything longer is too stressful on clothes & not necessary

Great wash& Spin – I was elated to find a washing machine that washes well and spins dry my clothes so well that clothes almost come out dry! What a time saver in the drying process. Detergent for Twin Dos Constantly Out of Stock!! – Machine itself is okay - no problems and the clothes come out clean even with the quick washes. The danger with paying $300 more for the twin dos system is that the detergent is not readily available on the Miele Shop. Quality remains long after the price is forgotten – We purchased the WHK130 from Miele and the results have been unbelievably positive. The engineering of this appliance is exceptionally good , quiet in operation, economical in water and power usage. Above all the clothes come out clean and fresh. We run a small bed and breakfast and the Miele suits our purposes to perfection. Yes it cost a bit more but after 2 months I have the confidence well will be happy with our investment.

If it is not a Miele... It is not a Miele – I recently bought the WKH130WPS with both TwinDos automatic dispensing system with PowerWash and came with a gift voucher to cover one year of Phase 1&2 supply. The Miele TwinDos detergents are of great quality and leave garments perfectly cleaned, pleasantly scented and soft with no need to use fabric conditioner (!!). The machine is built like a… Read more

tank, engineered, manufactured and assembled in Germany, with high quality finishes and features advanced washing options that are easy to understand and navigate. The computer based user interface provides maximum flexibility. This machine also features the EcoFeedback function that tells the user exactly how much electricity (in kWh) and litres of water have been used at the end of each washing cycle thanks to built in meters: I have never seen a washing machine capable of delivering 8kg of perfectly cleaned laundry using only 0.3 kWh and 57 L of water in a 3 hours washing cycle!! The ECO function also further reduces energy consumption by increasing the washing time (up to 3.5 hours) while the PowerWash cycle uses more electricity and water but it takes less than one hour, so it all comes down to the user's choice whether going for the more economical option (with longer washing time) or for the quicker option with PowerWash (with higher energy and water consumption).

No need to say this machine is extremely quiet even when spinning at a massive 1600 rpm: this very high speed combined with the unique Miele patented honeycomb drum and pre-ironing steam finish guarantees minimum creases and laundry dries in an hour or so when line dried.

The care for delicates, silk and woollen garments is unparalleled: in some cases the load (i.e. say Merino Wool, Cashmere Wool or silk garments) can be more expensive than the washing machine itself but rest assured nothing will go wrong if you select the correct washing programme and detergents. This also means massive savings in dry cleaning costs for those garments that are extremely delicate but can actually be water washed.

With the intelligent load recognition system you do not have to worry about wasting water, detergents and electricity for small loads.

There is no disguising the fact I was very reluctant initially to buy this article because of its price but after reading reviews and the Miele's company profile I decided to take this risk and I can now confirm that Miele's slogan 'Everything else is a compromise' is true because this machine is worth every single penny and has no competition.

So many service calls, so many problems! – After having this machine for a few weeks I found that the dos detergent container became sucked in and would not dispense any more detergent. It was as if it had been pressurised.(?) I took it into Miele and they told me it must have been the container and replaced it. After a few more washes it then happened again with the new lot of detergent.… Read more

I then organised a service call. The service technician said that he couldn't find any fault with the machine except that it was dispensing too much detergent. Apparently all these machine dispense too much detergent because they are set for hard German water conditions and not soft water like we have in Melbourne. He did adjust the amount of detergent to be dispensed. 3 days after he had been the same problem occurred with the detergent container. When I again rang service I was told that all they could do was send another technician out. I said a technician had only been out 3 days previously and couldn't diagnose a fault and asked to be put through to a manager. The manager then offered to send out a replacement machine. The machine was then replaced. When it was installed I asked about getting the detergent dispensing level adjusted and was told they had never heard anything about the problem. I ended up changing it myself although it wasn't easy.

After a few weeks I kept getting a fault message that said to check the hot water outlet. I couldn't see anything wrong so I arranged another service call. The technician who came out said that it needed a new part. Mind you this is my replacement machine that is only a few weeks old and every time you call service you spend between 15 and 30 minutes on hold and then you have to wait about 2 weeks before anyone can come and you have to wait in for half a day because they can't give you any indication of when they will come except am or pm. He ordered the part but couldn't book me in for him to come back for another 10 days. A few days later I did a wool wash and the machine turned my cashmere jumpers into pieces of felt. I rang service again. They couldn't get anyone out any earlier and they advised me to stop using the machine. On the day he was due to come back the technician rang me and said he was going home sick and that someone would call me to reschedule. Someone did call but then said it would be another 10 days to 2 weeks before they could get someone out. I explained that I had been waiting already for over 3 weeks at this stage for it to be fixed and that if they didn't get another technician out they could organise to take it away and give me my money back. Another technician did come out that day and he then determined that the machine did not need a new part but rather had been programmed in the factory in Germany to rinse using hot water. I understand that mine is not the only machine that has this issue as I've had further service calls because of problems I have also had with my Miele TKG 450WS dryer (It's about to be taken away as they can't get it to work properly) and the technician who came said that quite a few machines were rinsing with hot water.

Hopefully, I won't have any more problems with this washing machine.

There is nothing like it – This machine is absolutely fantastic. Our clothes are washed and rinsed to perfection. Wear out clothes? appeared "better than ever". The machine is definitely much quieter than my previous one which was an Asko (top of the range model which I had for 13 years without problem) and the only hum which is heard is when the machine is spinning at 1600rpm.

Using TwinDos is a breeze - correct dosage at all times.

When this machine was advertised by Miele one of the slogans was "never hand wash again"! So wonderfully true - with this machine I have not hand washed since I got mine in April 2015 and even my very expensive undergarments are done on the silk cycle - 20 degrees - with no problem whatsoever.

I would definitely recommend that one uses the Miele laundry products - they give the best results and at the end of the day are specifically made for the Miele range of machines. They may be a bit more costly than the run of the mill supermarket laundry products but definitely well worth it in the long run. Even when I had my Asko I always used Miele laundry products with excellent results.

Finally, I also have the matching Miele dryer which is an excellent machine.
