looks good, freezer ok, drawer and top destroy food – 1. freezer works as it should. 2. brochure shows crisper drawer full of un wrapped, crispy veges and fruit. Have NEVER had that. Crisper dries veges/contents out and promotes mould..even boxed food is dried out, just more slowly. 3. the fridge.....haha! cheese, meats,etc-small gap in plastic wrapper, it dries out! anything not perfectly … Read more
wrapped is aged/dried/destroyed. even butter in a container that was not completely sealed will discolour. Tried messing with temp controls, storage levels, own baffles to no success. JUNK. finish of materials look good, love layout. shame about the performance. JUNK

Had it for just under 5 years and still love it – We were severely limited with the size of the fridge space and this was one of the few options. Much smaller than what we were used to, but now in hindsight it's a right sized fridge for a couple who like to entertain up to 6 people at a time. This fridge is reliable and has the best icemaker design within this level of compactness and price… Read more
point. Yes, it is noisy when the compressor kicks in, but in our place this is only noticable if standing directly in front of the fridge. It is surrounded in all other directions by walls or cupboards. Yes, it does take about 8 - 12 hours for the automated icemaker to cool the reservoir water, pour it, freeze the cubes and dispatch the cubes into the freezer, but this is easily worked around by filling the reservoir well before you run out of ice. The fridge makes really efficient use of such a small space. The 3 draw design arguably uses less power than similar rated fridges in the real world, because you only open the section that's needed resulting in less energy use to cool it down again.
Huge Design Faults – I loved this fridge until a slight spillage of blood meant that the fridge had to be replaced! This fridge is not spill-proof at all. The shelves are very difficult to clean, a small amount of blood leaked into the lining of the fridge (behind the shelf sliders - impossible to reach), through 2 shelves (that are made of both glass and plastic… Read more
that are extremely difficult to separate but blood was between them), into the sliding case in the bottom of the fridge, beside the ice maker, down behind the vegetable drawer and between the linings above the freezer. Mitsubishi admitted that it would be impossible to clean. To their credit they offered immediate replacement (and to seal the base of the new fridge so that liquid couldn't go down into the freezer lining).
I am going to look for a new fridge of a different brand however as I do not want the issue of a liquid spilling into the fridge lining either (or even between the hard/almost impossible to clean fridge shelves). Even though I rarely spill food in the fridge, I think it is extremely poor design for a fridge to have this issue.
Aside from this disastrous aspect of fridge design, another - the freezer space is very limited.
Otherwise I was happy with the fridge and sad to see it go. But think carefully before purchasing this fridge.
Harvey Norman has also been helpful.
Excellent so far – This was a complete compromise purchase as it was about the only fridge I could find that would fit, it was between this and a Westinghouse one. Very glad I went for this one, it's much smaller than my previous fridge but I really haven't noticed the downgrade in size. The design of the storage with the separate veggie drawer, and freezers… Read more
drawers makes everything more accessible, and I like the (very slow) ice maker. Only had it for about 2 months but so far running really well and quietly. I got the stainless steel (ie grey plastic) model, but I wish I'd saved myself $100 and got the white version, the grey plastic looks a bit cheap. I bought this instore at appliance warehouse, and the sales guy explained that the more expensive Mitsubishi models are made in Japan, they certainly looked a bit sturdier instore, but this is fine. Oh, and the real deal breaker with this fridge - the 5 year manufacturers warranty!
EDIT: Dec 2016 - over 1 year in and no complaints.

Nothing but praise - would not buy anything else – We have bought two of these fridges - a C375 for our holiday house and a C405 for our own house. We adore the design - a lot of features for a reasonable price. My husband is a refrigeration engineer and he is very impressed with the simple ice making component design. When we looked at buying a new fridge my main criteria was a fridge that was… Read more
well built and lasted the distance. I'm over brittle plastic shelving that cracks and breaks. I wanted something that actually hung together and lasted the distance. So far the Mitsubishi has ticked all the boxes. Temperature control perfect. No aspects we dislike - we have a simple uncomplicated design. We love the separate vegetable compartment as we tend to need plenty of space for these. The kids love the ice maker as do I. A design that will hopefully never break down due to its uncomplicated design.
Great fridge – Bought this fridge 4 years ago, and it's still working great without any problem, no noise. Glad to have freezer at the bottom, able to pack more into the big freezer drawer. Only small problem is the door shelf is not deep enough cannot stuck the normal 2l milk bottle in. Overall, the function and design are great. Show details
Love It! – Excellent, Love the ice maker, loads of room. Great separate draw for fruit and veg. Great size for small spaces. Very silent operation. Easy clean stainless steel front. Would not hesitate to purchase a Mitsubishi fridge again, worth every cent. I always recommend to my friends and family. Definitely 10/10 Show details

Noisey – This fridge is the nosiest appliance I have ever had. It is made of such thin inferior materials that it cant help but vibrate the contents so if you have anything that's made of ceramics and glass , expect to hear it rattle and hum. I am going to get rid of it and buy a German appliance.
Very noisy – We have the similar experience with David. This model makes noise every hour day and night. If we knew this problem before we bought it, we would not have bought it.
Humidity Drawer – All the veggies in our 30 years old fridge would stay fresh for a week after we have bought this we now have to buy veggies twice a week as everything goes spoilt in 3 days especially greens etc which defeats the purpose of having a fridge in the first place Bad vegie tray

Mixed opinions – I really like this fridge at the beginning - simple and effective ice maker without plumbing required, generous vegetable drawer, very quiet. Now we’ve had it for 2 years: the drawer is not a “crisper” it’s just another compartment without separate controls, fruit and vegetables dehydrate fast and need to be carefully stored in sealed containers.… Read more
It’s starting to not regulate temperature well - the other day it randomly rose 10 degrees and we had to buy a bag of ice to save our food - 24hours later it was fine again. It’s ok, but I wouldn’t buy it again.
Bullet proof – Owned since new in 2012 and this fridge hasnt missed a beat. Does everything it should. Design is well thought out, humdiity drawer for veges works well, plenty of space for our family of 4 , cant fault it snf would but a another one in a heartbeat Show details
Fantastic fridge/freezer – Great fridge, no problems at this point, Fits well into our kitchen. I like the stainless steel look and the Ice maker is great. I however was concerned about some reviews on the noise of this make and model but it is not an issue, it runs well at this point. Show details

Fantastic Fridge Freezer – I read the reviews on this site before buying and I'm delighted with the purchase. The salad crisper drawer is just the right size and is very convenient. The ice maker is magic - water goes in, ice cubes come out - genius. And it's quiet. Very happy to recommend. Show details
Love it – Bought this online 2 years ago, back here cos my friend wants one too. Love all the drawer space, perfect for a vegetarian/raw foodie. It's the first brand new fridge I've ever had, so happy with my choice. Easy to clean, fridge on top great for tall people and an ice maker that doesn't need to be plumbed. Show details
selve that breaks – Great fridge, the best apart from the middle plastic shelve that is in two parts, will soon be in four. I have had 2 of these fridges that this has happened and my uncles one has done the same and at $54 a shelve it gets a little to much. Six months it cracked. Show details
Best and most functional fridge/freezer I have ever owned. Could not live without it – Purchased this fridge from internet information, never saw it until it arrived. Thrilled to bits. Needed to keep width to 600 as it was going into a caravan, the extra height was no problem. Love the ice maker, no water plumbing required. Love the middle drawer for my Veges and occasionally it is my beer fridge compartment. Cannot fault anything about it.
Good size and configuration – I purchased this 3 months ago now. It is fine. The last fridge I bought over 10 years ago was my first frost-free so under-purchased as I did not realise the capacity used by the frost free compartment. This has plenty of room. I like the separate fruit and vege compartment. Fit for purpose. I went for the fridge at the top/freezer at the… Read more
bottom as the fridge is used multiple times a day and is more accessible in this combination. Apparently it uses more electricity but I am sure this is small for the much greater convenience. The large - 2 litre and above- items are easy to lift in and out.
There is an icemaker which I do not find important. It does take up quite a bit of room in the freezer as a consequence.
The sliding drawers are easy to operate and the alarm at one minute if the draw is left open is useful. I would prefer it a little louder but recognise it could be a problem in a multi occupancy building if it were louder.
This is the white 375 litre model. White fits the decor.
I would agree it is a little louder than expected. I transferred bit by bit from the older(smaller ) Mits fridge/freezer and as more was put in it worked harder and became louder. It is about the same noise level as the 13 year old Mits I already have which is retired to a drinks fridge.
Edit after 9 months and 3 seasons. Auckland.
The noise level remains high. Higher than I would expect. The engine seems to run for a long time - sometimes it appears to be about 80% of the time. I am not going to sit there and measure it. In a smaller dwelling without a closed off kitchen I imagine it would be annoying. eg a Studio apt.
It is the engine noise I am talking about. It is also sensitive to items not being placed apart inside as these can rattle quite easily. This itself is annoying.
The noise issue is a factor to consider in the purchase decision and something you can't really test in the shop or buying online. I mark it down but will leave the original rating above. I would clip off a half star if I could.
The design is excellent and the ice maker was useful over January/February even though this was not a feature I was looking for. The vege drawer with its small rear shelf is very good for separating out small items like tomatoes and mushrooms so they don't get squashed. The adjustable half shelf/full shelf is often useful.
Brilliant fridge – I wanted a slim line fridge due to my small kitchen and was so glad I discovered this fridge. It is exactly what I was looking for - a slim line fridge which did not compromise on capacity. It is deceptively large in capacity for a fridge which is only 600mm wide. I find it the perfect size for a 2 person household. The separate compartment for… Read more
vegetables and fruits is brilliant. I have found that it keeps my vegetables and fruits fresher for longer than my previous fridge. The same applies for the top compartment, particularly when I run out of room in the vegetable compartment. My only one negative is that I wish the vegetable compartment is bigger. I find I don't use the whole of the freezer compartment so would rather that it is smaller and the vegetable compartment is bigger.
Perfect – Some say it is noisy. I desperately want to hear the ice fall but can't detect it over the general silence. This fridge is perfect, highly recommended. Many good features and after a month, no issues. Especially love the humidity drawer. Keeps veges fresh for a very long time. Want a good fridge? Pick this one
Happy customer – Having owned conventional F & P fridges I wasn't sure about the different shape and functions of this fridge. I read the reviews on this site and In general people seemed happy except for the noisy motor. After months of looking around I purchased the 405 model. Have only had it 2 weeks but I think it is a great fridge and can't find a single… Read more
fault with it. The ice maker is wonderful and easy to operate. The freezer compartment holds the same as our previous freezer but is much easier to use. The separate veges compartment is brilliant, more room & more efficient than if it is in the main fridge. The separate drawer in the main fridge is perfect and we use it for cheese, butter and chocolate at this stage but just think of it as another 'shelf'. Every feature is as described in the brochures. Wonderful! We do hear the motor at times but it is more of a 'hum' and in general we don't hear it at all.
MRC375GWA - Yep, very happy +++ – Purchased online after a bit of research. I wanted to buy a french door fridge at about $3k. Partner said no. So next best thing was a bottom mount freezer on a Mitsubishi fridge. Unfortunately the one I got was made in Thailand, not Japan. I guess thats why the model number changed from MRC375CWA to MRC375GWA, when everything else about it is… Read more
exactly the same. However, regardless of manufacturing country, so far I am very impressed. It seems small at first but I keep putting things in, they keep fitting easily and there is still room for more. The pull out drawers for the freezer at the bottom (with its easy move top piece) and separate veggie crisper in its own section in the middle of the fridge, are a delight and again, fit lots in for a 375L fridge. I haven't tested the ice maker yet as its heading into winter, but I like the concept of not hooking it up to the mains and filling it myself as I'm a bit of a clean nut and it makes me feel better (regardless of whether it makes a difference health-wise!). Previous reviews have mentioned the noise levels being excellent albeit with an occassional 'brrrrrr' whirring of the compressor; I fully concur. It is exceptionally quiet, I have it on a low setting and it is freezing and cooling respectively, well. the compressor sound is a bit loud (kind of like a faint jackhammer!!!) but its only on for 10-15 seconds occassionally so I can live with it. So far, definitely happy with my purchase from the Electrical Discounter, got it for $960 delivered. I ordered it on a Thursday after lunch, and received it by lunch on the following Wednesday. Their people (I dealt initially with Kyle Mitchell) were extremely helpful and if I could have found it cheaper elsewhere, they would have matched the price. But it was already $400 cheaper than the stores. The delivery company, based in Queanbyan NSW delivering to Canberra, was also great. A little late (1 1/2 hrs) than they advised but really, in these days of tradies not turning up at all more often than not, definitely forgivable. And they carted it into the kitchen for me (better than some places which will drop it at your front door and thats it).
Recommend this fridge.

Finally a fridge with some real innovation! – Just purchased the New Mitsubishi MR-C405C-W-A and we are totally blown away. Great to see the team has come together harnessing practicality and innovation with aesthetics and technology. This fridge has the… Read more
right colour, dimensions, user friendly compartmentalisation and technology which super charges its stunning overall appearance. It has a 3 and half star energy rating and super quiet performance so we know we made the right decision!
This truly is a fridge for the 21st century with the upgrades you would expect. We've had it now for 2 weeks and it works exactly as advertised. The, plumbing free, automatic ice maker, soft freeze draw compartment, fully adjustable shelves, user friendly touch controls and general layout are a joy to the senses! The fridge is expensive but shop around and you could get a nice surprise! We bought ours through Harvey Norman Mount Barker SA and Ajay gave us an offer we couldn't refuse. The purchase was made over the phone and we received the fridge the 1st day the following week. Thanks again Ajay for your prompt professionalism. Cheers Paul N Lynette
Mine's noisy too (but it's getting better) – I could have just copied and pasted David's review, below. I've had the fridge for 2 weeks now. I seriously love the design. It is perfect for my household (since i can't fit anything wider or deeper). But oh-my-god is it noisy! Not constantly, but once it gets going, it is ridiculous. It's actually had me in frustrated tears, mainly because i… Read more
went through quite an ordeal to actually get the fridge in the first place. Some of the time it is silent, then as the motors do their thing (or whatever, I have no idea how fridges work!) it hums along fairly quietly, but then it starts to vibrate and the hum becomes a loud buzz that I can hear from the furthest reaches of my house. I have shouted at it, i have pushed and shoved it and pleaded with it to please shut up. I thought I'd try something more sensible next, and get down on the floor and see if it has feet that can be adjusted. Like David, I have thought about studying my fridge and collecting data on the frequency and longevity of the buzzing episodes, in an effort to better understand and report the problem. I wish I had a decibel meter... I wonder if there's an app for that (haha, of course there is! I will report back).
[EDIT: The decibel meter was measuring at about 70-75dB. That's pretty damned loud, but that said I didn't calibrate it. The noise seems to come in 'sets'. It will be mainly quiet for a week or two, then have 2-3 really noisy days].
Anyway, if you feel like risking your peace and quiet, you may get the perfect fridge. I love the ice maker, the folding shelf and the separate drawers. I even love the handle. I'm a bit disappointed that the door only holds two 2L milk bottles, but there's plenty of room elsewhere for more, especially with the shelf folded back. I love the egg rack, which holds 14 eggs, so you can buy a new dozen before you become eggless and still fit them all! I was a bit worried that, being somewhat vertically challenged (158cm), I might struggle with the height of the fridge, but it's not really an issue.
I would have dearly loved to give a 5-star review, and if I manage to fix or come to terms with the noise problem, I will adjust my rating. [Edit2: Have now had fridge for about 14 months and the noise has really settled down. I suspect it had a lot to do with things that were stored on top and within that were touching, such that when the fridge vibrated, they clanged together in a massive vibratey symphony. I can't recall the last time it was absurdly noisy, maybe 5 months ago]. 5 happy stars.
Awesome fridge, cannot fault it – In August 2014 we bought a Hisense and it did not work so returned it to the retailer with a whole lot of headache. Once that ordeal was over, we bought the Mitsubishi MR-C405CSTA from an online retailer. It was delivered within a few days and it has been the best fridge we have ever purchased. They have thought of so many clever things. … Read more
The door contains a shelf divided into to, the rear part is the perfect size for milk bottles (2 and 3 litre) while the front holds jars etc.
The ice maker works a treat and it means you don't need to connect the fridge up to a water source, you just refill the container in the bottom of the main fridge compartment and it makes ice for you.
We use the bottom tray in the main compartment for meat, and the middle drawer for vegetables. It is so well planned, and quiet, I cannot speak highly enough of it.
Awesome fridge – I just bought this fridge, shopped around a bit. We had a Fisher and Paykel tasman model for the last 20 years. We replaced the rubber once and it needed replacing again so I decided against doing that. I was going to buy F&P again as there was a good deal at Harvey Normans with $300 meat pack thrown in. However on looking at the Mitsubishi… Read more
decided to take the plunge. This fridge is incredibly well designed, the draw system, big door storage, adjustable inner shelves, ice maker that doesn't require plumbing, produce draw, meat draw which is at 0 degrees (main fridge area is 4degrees, so meat should last a bit longer in the meat draw and save the necessity of freezing it if planning to use it this week) and the anti odour mechanism. It's incredible and not at all noisy like another reviewer said it was. We have it in our living area.
This fridge is streets ahead of the design inside compared to all the other fridges. I got it in the end from Noel Leemings for $1450 + additional 3 year warranty for $150 and that included delivery and taking the old fridge away. Even the guys delivering were extremely careful not to scratch our wooden floors when taking away the old one. Also got fly buy points so all in all very happy and glad I took the plunge and changed to Mitsubishi, I'd consider other of their household appliances in future after this.
Very Quiet and Practical – I read all the reviews and researched every other fridge but love Japanese logic and a 5 year warranty and have to say the Mitsubishi C405 is almost silent in my open plan unit. I once sent a Westinghouse back that was too noisy - the ice maker is magical and the three drawers with different temperature so easy to use. Betta Electrical in Prahran… Read more
were super efficient, fantastic price and took away old fridge. Practically silent and the ice maker sends little gifts from the fridge! Would still like a bigger veggie tray but hard to find even in much bigger fridges. Overall very happy.
Outstanding – When we decided to renovate our kitchen (a small unit and a need for compromise on space) we saw this Mitsubishi and told our outfitter to design the kitchen around it. Smart move. The unit's footprint is small for a fridge of this capacity, but it is tall and for two adults provides ample storage. The center fruit and veg container is a stroke… Read more · 1
of genius. The unit is quiet and very attractive and there is a Mitsubishi 5 year warranty on the motor. There have been comments about noise and yes, occasionally it hums a bit but I find moving the cabinet a fraction (and re-arranging rattling beer bottles fixes things). A couple of months ago we moved from the coast to The Blue Mountains; the Mitsubishi handled the move with ease and worked again from day one. This is a stainless steel version and a wipe with a damp cloth gets it looking fine, and the drawers are easy to remove and clean. I would urge anyone looking for a new fridge to consider this, especially is space is at a premium. We would really hate to lose it. Looks great inside and out, very good value at the price we got from Harvey Norman Very little. We would have liked an option on the door hinge side
My dream Fridge/freezer – This is a dream come true, I won the fridge. I can' t believe how great it is, keeps the veggies fresher for longer. inexpensive, slimline, heaps of ice, big vegetable drawer, freezer on the bottom. Took a while to remember there was a middle drawer! Ice making a bit complicated at first, but soon got the hang of it.
Excellent fridge – I purchased this little darling when posted to New Zealand for work and apartment supplied had limited space in fridge alcove. I cannot speak too highly about this appliance. needed, and this baby is tough! When I moved back to Brisbane and my big LG fridge, I kept the Mitsubishi as a spare and for entertaining. The only place I can store it is on a semi-protected balcony, but even with exposure to the elements there is no rust or marks and it manages the high ambient temperature without a glitch, and purrs along perfectly when asked to keep the party provisions stored. This is probably not the ideal place for it, and I'm sure the Mitsubishi guys would feint hearing my story but with nowhere else for it I had little expectation of it working well, but risked it. This is the best fridge I've ever used, and I'm now ditching my "big" fridge and buying the Mitsubishi 655L to replace it. Buy this appliance with confidence-I promise u will love it. Everything. Compact, efficient, durable Not ONE thing!
Totally Happy – I was tossing up between a Panasonic and the Mitsubishi as my kids have left and it's now just me and the bride. The deciding factor was probably the five year warranty, as the fridge is to replace a… Read more
Whirlpool that gave up the ghost after only 3 years. I like the fact that it is tall and skinny because I usually need height in a fridge and not width. The third door is ideal for its purpose as my wife is a fresh veg nut. I have had no trouble with noise issues nor has my wife, we both consider it quieter than the previous one. I gotta say that I'm very happy with it ! If I had bought the Panasonic, it came with a 2 year warranty and HN wanted to slug be an extra $130 for an extended one. No thanks. Tall, thin and practical. The 5 year Warranty. Nothing to date.
The best thought out fridge I have seen – I purchased one for my daughter when i was in New Zealand last it makes ice keeps vegies fresh makes the beer cold and has a great freezer. The shelving is of a simple design but practible easy to adjust.I purchased the White Fridge but they told me it was also available in stainless steel so yoy have the option

Best fridge we have ever bought – The vegies last longer in the crisper. There is the convenience of separate vegie crisper and bottom freezer.
